What is there to do in Twello?
Twello is a village with approximately 13,405 inhabitants in the municipality of Voorst, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The village is located in the rural area between the cities of Deventer and Apeldoorn, close to the river IJssel.
Twello is more a village where people live than it has tourist attractions. It is a green area with many country houses.
At the edge of the village lies Hof van Twello. Beautiful to walk the barefoot path. 2.5 kilometers through mud, water, a bamboo field etc. Delicious and laugh for young and old. In the greenhouses and the fields are different things grown. In the accompanying shop you can buy various fresh and organic products.
In and around Twello are 6 clog toads. These hiking and biking trails mainly combine nature with a bit of culture. Many of the paths are about farmland or private land. As a result, it is not always allowed to take a dog with you or to keep it on a leash.
In the immediate vicinity is Teuge airport. Here you can get flying lessons and / or parachuting.
Also in the immediate vicinity is Bussloo. A large recreational lake. Of course you can swim there. However, there are also many other sports such as water sports but also waves or visit the wellness.
The center has several shops and restaurants. The local swimming pool has a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool. Every Friday afternoon is the market in the center.

Klompenfeestwandeltocht, Twello, 34 km
Mijn eigen WS78 organiseerde in Twello een wandeltocht ter gelegenheid van het klompenfeest en het was inderdaad weer een feestje. Een prachtige route, veel onverhard en klompenpaden en een houtzagerij waar een stoommachine het zaagblad aandreef en klompenmaken werd gedemonstreert. Erg leuk!

Alpen Express, direct vanuit Nederland met de nachttrein naar de Oostenrijkse Alpen. Reisverslag
De Alpen Express is een chartertrein die in de winterperiode direct vanuit Nederland naar de Oostenrijkse Alpen gaat. De trein maakt eerst een rondje door Nederland en vertrek vrijdagavond direct naar de Oostenrijkse Alpen. Dit is alleen in het wintersportseizoen, zonder overstappen naar de skiresorts. Los hiervan heb je ook de Skithalys die min of meer hetzelfde doet voor de Franse Alpen, dit is echter een trein die overdag gaat, waardoor je op zaterdagochtend vroeg moet vertrekken.

I created this video at
Europe Road Trip to HOLLAND (Netherlands) 2008. Just some impressions cought with our new panasonic digital video cam. Videos has been preprocessed through ffmpeg on ubuntu linux to fix aspecft ratio, bitrates and all, since out panasonic video cam uses some strange formats on the raw footage.

In this video you can drive along on the motorways A4, A10, A1 and A6 from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Lelystad via the southern Amsterdam beltway (A10). The footage is from the morning of the 1st of January 2022, explaining why there is so little traffic.
Recently there has been a significant overhaul (redesign, refurbishment and expansion works) of the Lelystad - Almere - Amsterdam corridor. Ever increasing population and traffic numbers in the Amsterdam metropolitan area saw a new motorway being added in recent years (A5) and expansion of both the A9 and A1. The A6 connecting Lelystad and Almere has also been expanded in recent years.
[A4]: The A4 motorway connects the Netherlands' 3 largest cities: Rotterdam, the Hague and Amsterdam. It flows into the A10 Amsterdam ring road (beltway) in the beginning of this video, right after passing Schiphol Airport and the Hoevelaken interchange (A9). The A4 from the Hague to Amsterdam is one of the busiest motorways in the country.
[A10]: The A10 beltway around Amsterdam also handles significant traffic numbers. Depending on the traffic, it's actually faster to drive via the A10 South to the Airport from direction Almere / A1. However, signs direct drivers via the A9. There are big plans to overhaul the A10 South (2nd segment of this video) and put it all into a tunnel, creating space for more urban development and the expansion of the Amsterdam South train station, which is currently wedged between both directions of the A10.
[A1]: The A1 running from Amsterdam to the German border near Hengelo / Enschede is also a very busy motorway. In recent expansion schemes it was widened to 2 x 5 lanes and even 2 x 6 lanes in some parts, making it one of the widest single motorways in Europe.
[A6]: Just East of Amsterdam the A6 starts from the A1 interchange at Muiderberg. It runs until the interchange with the A7 at Joure in Friesland. In recent years the A6 beltway of Almere (RING) was constructed, splitting up through- and local traffic on the A6. New Almere exits were added served by the A6 Ring. Almere continues to grow at a rapid pace as many working class families move to this area because Amsterdam has become increasingly unaffordable over the past decades. Both Almere and Lelystad are cities that originate from the 1970's, being built on reclaimed land. Meanwhile Almere has well over 200.000 inhabitants. Further motivation for the recent expansions was the expansion of Lelystad airport, which recently got its own motorway exit (2020, A6). As Amsterdam Schiphol has been over-capacity for many years and has no space to grow, the plans for a second airport began to take shape. Lelystad Airport is designated to handle most European and discounter holiday flights in the future, although its expansion developments have been met with some heavy resistance from residents in the area. Until now the local airport has mainly served sports planes, freight and charter flights.

Netherlands Castle Chateau Marquette Noord-Holland Heemskerk Landgoed Château Marquette
Around the Chateau Marquette is a beautiful country estate where you can walk. Six acre estate, surrounded by a protected nature reserve. This protected breeding meadow birds, but also Nile geese and Canadian geese favorite place to stay. There have even been spotted spoonbills. Foxes visit this area is really like .Chateau Marquette has a wonderful long driveway with trees and stately in the distance you see the castle lie. It is unfortunately not to visit. The estate is a hotel located in an old farmhouse (expanded and modernized) in the direct vicinity of the castle. It is possible to enter the castle to marry and then the party there to celebrate. The guests can then stay overnight at the hotel. The gate of the Chateau Marquette is on the left to see a beautiful coach house with shutters .

Rondom het Château Marquette ligt een prachtig landgoed waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen. Zes hectare landgoed, omgeven door een beschermd natuurgebied. Hier broeden beschermde weidevogels, maar ook Nijlganzen en Canadeze ganzen verblijven hier graag. Er zijn zelfs lepelaars gesignaleerd. Vossen bezoeken dit gebied dan ook erg graag.Château Marquette heeft een prachtige lange oprijlaan met statige bomen en in de verte zie je het kasteel liggen. Het is helaas niet te bezichtigen. Op het landgoed is een hotel dat zich bevindt in een oude boerderij (uitgebreid en gemoderniseerd) in de directe nabijheid van het kasteel. Het is mogelijk om in het kasteel te trouwen en daarna het feest daar te vieren. De gasten kunnen dan in het hotel blijven overnachten.Voor de poort van het Château Marquette is aan de linkerkant een prachtig koetshuis te zien voorzien van luiken.
