Valencia is located in the east of Spain, on the Levant coast, right in the middle of the Gulf of Valencia, at the mouth of the Turia. The city is bordered by the Mediterranean, a sea that has forged its character over the centuries. Its geographical location makes it an ideal starting point to explore the rest of Spain. Just an hour and a half by train from Madrid, three hours by car from Barcelona and with daily departures to the Balearic Islands, the capital of the Mediterranean is worth a visit to enjoy its climate and wide beaches just fifteen minutes from the downtown, contemplate its heritage, savor its gastronomy and discover all its cultural richness.

It is no coincidence that it has been voted the best city in the world by expatriates of more than a hundred different nationalities. Mediterranean, authentic and rich in history, Valencia is becoming one of the most popular destinations in Europe. With 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 17°, Valencia is a city made for enjoying the outdoors, even in autumn.

A judicious mix of history and modernity, Valencia (Valencia in Spanish) is a city that has taken advantage of its heritage while positioning itself as an avant-garde city. At the start of the 21st century, the city acquired a complete and ultra-modern complex centered around the world of science.

But Valence is also a place of business in constant growth with quality infrastructures in perpetual optimization. The rise of many hotels, the convention center and the overall modernization of the city in recent years has greatly favored business tourism. What's more, its geographical location by the sea and its warm climate are increasingly attractive.

Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter can be really confusing! So many winding streets, so many tourists, so much to see! But it’s actually quite a small area, and it’s one of the most magical collections of 13-15th century buildings in the world.

And did you know that Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter is actually built on the remains of a 2,000 year old Roman settlement?

Also, not everything is as it seems in the Gothic Quarter. There are lots of secrets in this part of the city, but you have to know where to find them. I will show you!

To sum it up, the Gothic Quarter is a place you really need to visit. It’s also called the Barrio Gótico in Spanish and the Barri Gòtic in Catalan.

In this video I take you to 10 of the must-see sites in the Gothic Quarter. These are places we visit and you’ll learn about on Devour Tour’s Tapas, Taverns & History Tour.

At each stop in the video, I give you some information behind the history of the area, and also a little Google marker with the name of the street or square so you can find it yourself.

So, where do we visit?

1. Plaça Nova - where the entry point to the Roman town was
2. Carrer del Paradís - where there is an amazing Roman temple
3. Behind the Cathedral - where you can see lots of hidden symbols
4. General Archive of the Crown of Aragon
5. Plaça del Rei - did Columbus stand on these steps?
6. Pont del Bisbe - the most photographed site in all of Barcelona… but it’s not as old as it seems!
7. Jewish Quarter (El Call) - a fascinating little tangle of streets with a long history
8. Plaça Sant Felipe Neri - my favourite square in the city… and with a dark secret
9. Plaça Sant Jaume - the perfect place to decode the Catalan independence issue
10. Pont de Mar - the exit point of the old Roman city!

This Tenerife top 10 travel guide includes: Teide National Park, Siam Park, whale and dolphin watching, Tenerife beaches, Icod, Masca, Santa Cruz, Spanish fiestas and more.

In my experience, people come to Tenerife for the sunshine and sometimes don't leave their all inclusive resort which is a huge shame as Tenerife has so much to offer. Hopefully my Tenerife Top 10 may persuade you to explore further if you're planning a trip to Tenerife.

Tenerife is part of the Canary Islands and my family have been taking their holiday here for over 30 years. Tenerife and the Canary Islands hold a special place in my heart and I want to share with you why.

Visit Segovia - What to See, Do & Eat in Segovia, Spain

Segovia is an excellent day trip from Madrid. Located only 1.5 hours by bus or 30 minutes by fast AVE trains from Madrid, Segovia gives travelers a great set of tourist options if you are looking for a day trip from Madrid or a cool place to stay in Spain. Segovia has a number of museums and churches to explore, however the three main sights in the city are the Roman Aqueduct, the cathedral and the Alcazar castle which they say inspired Walt Disney with his Castle.
There are also a number of special things to eat when you are in Segovia, from the bean stew to suckling pig to ponche segoviano a tasty cake you will not go home hungry. Segovia is an amazing place for travelers, tourists, vacationers or just someone looking for a cute town in Spain.
