The Province of Huelva, in Andalucia, is one of the most beautiful places in Spain, and it is not known to many international travellers. This means you can have authentic experiences here in Huelva.
The province of Huelva is tucked in the South-west corner of Spain, and locals call it the “Secret Coast”. Huelva is home to beautiful national parks, wide sandy beaches and historic sites. Here was the starting point for the journeys of Christopher Columbus.
In this video, I travel to Huelva and El Rocio, one of the most unique villages in Spain and also visit the Wharf of the Caravels, a floating museum in Palos de la Frontera, this was the place where Columbus began his journey to the Americas.

Seville is possibly the best city in Spain for eating tapas. Whether you’re after modern tapas, or more traditional dishes, this city is simply mouthwatering. Perhaps the best place to eat in Spain!
I was in town for a Devour Tours get-together and on my last day - with a broken voice! - I decided to hit the bars. So, where did we go?
1. First we hit Casa Morales. The second oldest still-running bar in the city. It opened in the mid 19th century, and is still going strong. Here we started (breakfasted!) fino sherry, some excellent manchego cheese and a delicious montadito of bacalao (salt-cold) on bread with salmorejo. And, of course, we admired the gorgeous huge tinajas (wine vats). This place is unforgettable.
2. Next it was time for some more substantial cooked traditional tapas. So we headed to Bodeguita Romero, where they do killer versions of some of the city’s most classic dishes. First I tried the pringá, which is a fabulous sandwich of pork, blood sausage and other meat. Then I tried their carrillada (pork cheek) which literally melts in your mouth like marshmallow.
3. Next we went modern, heading to new favourite Palo Cortao. If you love sherry, this is the place for you. They have 80 sherries by the glass. And the food is also fantastic. From the false tomato, to the mackerel on sweet peas to the phenomenal cheese plate… this spot is definitely one of my new favourites.
4. Time to go totally off the beaten path. Mateo Ruiz is a heaving old joint that’s well-known for its excellent fried bacalao and €1 wine… the place was packed, and the atmosphere incredible.
5. Finally we hit La Tienda de la Azotea, and fantastic little joint that serves delicious and imaginative modern tapas and has an excellent wine list. I had an amazing almadraba tuna taco, some delicious octopus in a mole verde and some fantastic red wine from the Seville region.
Well stuffed… I rolled home, and back to Madrid… and to Yoly. I hope you liked the video!

Originally constructed to spot marauders at sea, the walled medieval Castillo de Tossa de Mar now looks out over the much less menacing scene of locals and vacationers lazing on the wide beach below.
This castle-cum-lighthouse on the top of Mt. Guardí dates back to the 12th century, and you can reach it via a walk or a short tram ride up the hill. A few days in Madrid was never going to be enough to eat all of the amazing tapas and drink all of the vermut (although I DID give it a very good go!). I had fried calamari sandwiches, ate churros dipped in chocolate sauce, and had a delicious Cocido Madrileño to finish off the trip. I cannot wait to get myself back to Spain in two months and explore more of this beautiful (and delicious!) country.

Benadalid, Serranía de Ronda, Málaga

HISTORIA Y GEOGRAFÍA DE BENADALID
(1.116 m) y las de la Loma de la Sierra (1.137 m), que se ubican más en el municipio de Benalauría. El casco urbano de Benadalidestá rodeado por los arroyos del Frontón y de Espichi.
Al parecer las primeras huellas históricas en Benadalidlas dejaron los celtas, una población que se sometió al poder romano en el momento en que se instalaron en la zona, quienes construyeron la fortaleza, que se encuentra situada más abajo del pueblo; castillo que después fue aprovechado por los musulmanes.
Desde esa época la historia de este municipio se asemeja al de otros pueblos de la provincia de Málaga: convivencia pacífica de musulmanes y cristianos durante unos años, rebelión y expulsión de los moriscos, llegada de algunos cristianos viejos, decadencia, abandono y luego aprovechamiento de la intrincada orografía por parte de los bandoleros en el siglo XIX.

Situación Geográfica:Situación geográfica: en pleno Valle del Genal (comarca deRonda), a 25 kilómetros de la Ciudad del Tajo y a 145 de la capital de la provincia. El casco urbano se halla a 690 metros sobre el nivel del mar, la precipitación media anual supera los 1.170 l/m2 y la temperatura media se sitúa en los 14,6º C

QUÉ VISITAR EN BENADALID
Sobresale la estructura de la zona urbana del municipio, que posee calles que suben y bajan en articuladas pendientes, las casas poseen un blanco llamativo típico de los pueblos andaluces, en algunas de las cuales se observan escudos heráldicos y fachadas barrocas, y el trazado morisco conforman el aspecto del pueblo, que tiene dos construcciones muy notables y están ubicadas en la plaza del pueblo: el Ayuntamiento y la iglesia parroquial de San Isidoro, construida en el siglo XVI.
También se puede visitar el castillo de Benadalid, que se encuentra a las afueras del casco urbano, hacia el norte, esta construcción es de origen romano, según algunos historiadores, o netamente árabe, en opinión de otros, que sitúan su construcción entre los siglos XIII y XIV. La fortaleza tiene planta trapezoidal y de ella se conservan algunas torres cilíndricas y un aljibe subterráneo. En el interior del castillo se encuentra actualmente el cementerio del pueblo.
También se puede visitar el Museo El Alambique, que fue una antigua destilería que fue convertida en museo de artes y costumbres populares y que tiene utensilios de todo tipo. En el museo se encuentra un bar restaurante en el que se puede degustar la gastronomía típica de la zona.
GASTRONOMÍA DE BENADALID
En Benadalid la cocina es tradicional y se combinan los productos del terreno con la dieta alimentaria determinada por el clima de las estaciones. Se realizan los guisos con hierbas silvestres como tagarninas, hinojos, collejas o espárragos trigueros, también se pueden degustar las ollas serranas y los diversos potajes de garbanzos, y, entre las carnes, los guisos de conejo y la amplia variedad de platos y embutidos procedentes del cerdo. La sopa de hinojos con verduras es el plato más característico de este pueblo, así como el “malcocinado”, a base de hortalizas. La sopa de vinagre, el gazpacho caliente o el guiso moruno, cuyo principal ingrediente es la sardina, y el potaje.
CÓMO LLEGAR A BENADALID
Las dos vías principales para acceder a este pueblo desde la Costa del Sol parten de la autovía AP-7 o la antigua carretera N-340. Desde ambas se puede tomar, saliendo de San Pedro de Alcántara, la A-376 direcciónRonda, y antes de llegar a esta ciudad, desviarse por la A-369 hastaBenadalid, tras dejar atrásAtajate. También por la AP-7 o la N-340, en este caso desde Manilva, parte la A-377 haciaRonda, que conduce aBenadaliddespués de pasar porGaucínyAlgatocín.
ASÍ es HUELVA y TODO esto pude VER en 24 HORAS
Huelva ha sido sin lugar a dudas un destino inesperado, y es que no tenía las expectativas muy altas, pero así es Huelva y aquí te enseño todo lo que pude ver en 24 horas, que no es poco.
Empezamos la mañana en la Rábida, viendo su monasterio y visitando el impresionante Muelle de las Carabelas donde pude disfrutar de las réplicas de la Pinta, la Niña y la Santa María, y es que desde Huelva zarparon las tres embarcaciones, con Cristóbal Colón a la cabeza, en 1492 rumbo a lo que creían que era Asia y que a la postre resultó ser América.
También pude pasear por las Marismas de Odiel, visitar la Catedral de la Merced, pasear por la plaza de las Monjas y la plaza del Punto para finalizar el día viendo el atardecer en el Muelle del Tinto.

Wandering Through Trujillo Spain
Columbus Day 2020 in Trujillo, Spain was a wonderful experience. This town of 9,500 residents is steeped in history. Take a walk with us down narrow streets and passageways, past medieval palaces and monuments that represent a rich period. One family in particular, Pizarro, played a major role in world history when they explored Peru, which then came under Spanish rule.

Day 6: We pack our bags as we head back to the train station this morning to make our way across the country to Sevilla! ???? We have limited time and must keep moving to our next destination. It is also quick to get around by plane but super expensive booking last minute.
After a 4.5hr journey via Madrid we make it to our next destination and first order of business is to try the local cuisine and have a secreto iberico which is a cut of Iberian pork! ???? ????????super fat and tasty it is exactly what I need on a transit day.
Cases at home was beginning to spike just before I left, about 600 at the time of departure in NSW a week ago and now 5,700 as I write this. Spain and most other countries on the other hand manage more than 27,000 daily, so she’ll be roite! Just let me back in the country once my holiday is done please lol. ????????????
