Tremonton Utah Drive Through Tour in Box Elder County

When a townsite was laid out in 1903, the new town was named Tremont at the request of the German colony. Within four years, the post office had it renamed Tremonton due to confusion with the central Utah town of Fremont. Around 1907 the congregation was caught up in a larger schism of the Apostolic Church. Some moved back to the Midwest, and the German colony came to an end but the church left a permanent mark in the name of Tremonton, and a nearby cemetery filled with German names.

Welcome to Cache Valley, Logan

Logan was recently named by Business Insider as the #1 place to live in the Western United States. See why in our neighborhood video.

Welcome to Price Utah! A city in Carbon County, Utah. Very close to 9 Mile Canyon!

Price is a city in Carbon County, Utah, United States. The city is home to Utah State University Eastern, as well as the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum. Price is located within short distances of both Nine Mile Canyon and the Manti-La Sal National Forest.
Price is a city in Carbon County, Utah, United States. The city is home to Utah State University Eastern, as well as the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum. Price is located within short distances of both Nine Mile Canyon and the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Price is noted as a mining town, as well as for its history as a religious and ethnically diverse community, very atypical for Utah. Greek, Italian, eastern European, Mexican, Japanese and many other ethnic groups made up the population of the city and surrounding towns and communities. There has historically been a wide range of religions present in these areas, including Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Protestant and Mormon.

Logan is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The 2010 census recorded the population was 48,174, with an estimated population of 51,542 in 2018. By 2050 the population of Logan is expected to double.
Logan is that special treat hidden on the highest shelf of the pantry. It’s nice and quiet, removed from Utah’s main thoroughfares in between majestic mountains.
Logan, Utah, is located in beautiful Cache Valley, only 85 miles north of Salt Lake City in a pristine, green valley along US Hwy 89, the shortest and most scenic route to Yellowstone. Don't miss Logan National Scenic Byway, especially when fall colors are on display. At the highway summit, you can see a spectacular view of turquoise Bear Lake.
Nearby, the Logan LDS Temple, built from 1877 - 1884, stands today as a monument to Utah's early pioneers. It represents sacrifice, commitment, and a diligent work ethic. The neighboring tabernacle is equally spectacular, and is home to an early 1900-era pipe organ.
Visitors intrigued by Logan's rich history will want to visit the Jensen Historical Farm at the American West Heritage Center. The farm is a living history museum, set in 1917. All the traditional ways are closely followed, and guests are invited to jump back in time and learn about food preservation, sheep shearing, quilting, hay making, threshing, and more.

Welcome To Brigham City Utah! Near Ogden & Tremonton in Box Elder County!

Mormon pioneer William Davis first explored the Brigham City area in 1850. He returned with his family and others a year later to create permanent homes. Brigham Youngdirected Lorenzo Snow to lead additional settlers to the site and foster a self-sufficient city at the site in 1853. Snow directed both religious and political affairs in the settlement, eventually naming it Box Elder in 1855. When the town was incorporated on January 12, 1867, the name was changed to Brigham City in honor of Brigham Young. That same month, after the Utah legislature authorized a municipal election, residents elected Chester Loveland to be the town's first mayor. Brigham Young gave his last public sermon there in 1877 shortly before his death. In 1864, the cooperative movement began in earnest with the creation of a mercantile co-op store and was an important element of the United Order of Enoch. Other industries were added, and the Brigham City Co-op is widely recognized as the most successful of the Mormon Co-op ventures. Economic hardships brought an end to the Co-op in 1895, though the Co-op had first started selling businesses off in 1876.
World War II brought a major economic boost to the city. The federal government created Bushnell General Hospital on Brigham City's south side to treat soldiers wounded in the war. Locals sold supplies and food to the hospital while hospital staff patronized local businesses. After the war, the hospital's buildings were used as Intermountain Indian School. Many young Native Americans attended the boarding school until it closed in 1984, although the Intermountain I on the mountain is still visible in tandem with Box Elder High School's B. The facility has left its mark in a number of other ways, with most of the buildings still standing. Some have been converted into businesses and condos, while others remain empty. Utah State University purchased the site and demolished all remaining buildings in 2013. The Utah State University Brigham City regional campus will be expanded to permanent buildings on this site and will mainly serve students from Box Elder, Weber and Davis counties.
Despite layoffs over the past decade, much of Brigham City's economy relies on Thiokol, the creator of many missiles, as well as the solid rocket booster for the Space Shuttle. Additionally, the local Autoliv (formerly a part of Thiokol) airbag plants also net Brigham City many jobs. Nucor Corporation has two facilities in Brigham City, in addition to its steel mill in nearby Plymouth. The addition of a Walmart distribution center in nearby Corinne has also brought new jobs.

Logan, Cache Valley, Utah, USA

A quick flight through the central region and Tabernacle of Logan, Cache Valley, Utah.. November/2018

Wellsville Utah, Travel to the feel of small town USA

Nestled at the base of the Wellsville Mountain, a topographic curiosity because of its narrow base and unusual height, lies Wellsville - Cache County's oldest permanent settlement. It occupies the southwest corner of Cache Valley. On 15 September 1856, the families of Peter, John, and William H. Maughan, Zial Riggs, and Francis W. Gunnell, and two single men, George W. Bryan and O.D. Thompson, entered Cache Valley. There were twenty-five in the group, the oldest being forty-five and the youngest six weeks. They drove to a stream where they made their encampment; they called their settlement Maughan's Fort. Wagon boxes were taken off, and the women prepared homes in them. The men explored the valley and began to cut and stack the meadow hay for their livestock.13 November 1859 they changed the town's name from Maughan's Fort to Wellsville in honor of Daniel H. Wells, second counselor to President Brigham Young. Wellsville was surveyed in 1863 by James H. Martineau, who put into effect what was a Mormon community concept: four-square orientation with the points of the compass with the streets meeting at right angles. The land was divided into ten-acre blocks, each divided into eight lots of 1.25 acres.

ABOUT US:

As the #retirementtravelers, we have always dreamed of traveling, but we never in a million years thought we would become #travelvloggers and start a YouTube channel. But, that is what we did! We work hard every day to become better and create something that others will enjoy. Having a community of friends, old and new, follow our journey is fun and exciting to us.

In 2019, we achieved our goal of visiting every state in the union in our Airstream. We also visited every national park in the lower 48. We are big believers in lists, so of course we plan to see the remaining 12 parks in the next few years.

In 2021, we made the big decision to extreme downsize to just a suitcase and a small backpack, each. We started our journey around the world beginning in Central America. We hope that over the next ten years, we will have seen many beautiful things, made many memories and new friends, and shared the experience with our children and grandchildren.

We hope you enjoy the journey with us. Drop us a note in the comments and be sure to hit subscribe! ???? ???? ????

Life in Utah- 3 Kings Park City by Nathan McBride

To start off this season's skiing trips on a good note we went to visited Utah and see what it had to offer. Beginning at Park City we hit the mountain to film some clips at the infamous free skier park 3 Kings, then we went up to the lifts on the top of the mountain to shred the slopes. After a couple days up at Park City I went to visit a friend of mine and talented photographer Austin Scatch that took us to destroy some hills with his snowmobiles.
