Cehegín: Walking Through the Historical Center of a Town in Murcia, Southern Spain
I explore the old town of Cehegín. The town of Cehegín lies in the South of Spain in the region of Murcia. The history of Cehegín dates back to prehistoric times. Historians believe that the origin of the name Cehegín is connected with the North African tribe that was called Zenaga, Senhaja or Senajeli and ruled the region in the 11th century.

LOS OLIVOS DE XIVERT CAMPINGPARK RESORT ist Campingplatz und Wohnmobilstellplatz zugleich mit sehr großen Parzellen und sehr geräumigen Straßen innerhalb des gesamten Platzes. Er liegt im Osten Spaniens an der Costa Azahar in Alcalá de Xivert in der Provinz Castellón.
Der großzügig und neu gestaltete Camping Park ist das ganze Jahr geöffnet. Es ist ein Ort der Ruhe und Entspannung.
Der Campingplatz verfügt über eine 24-Stunden-Videoüberwachung mit über hundert großzügigen Grundstücken. Die Grundstücke der Kategorien PLUS (ab ca. 120 m2) und SUPERIOR (ab ca. 150 m2) besitzen einen eigenen Stromanschluss sowie eine Kanalisation.
Für kleinere Wohnmobile und Wohnwagen steht die Kategorie CONFORT (ca. 50 m2) zur Verfügung mit einer zentral gelegene Ver- und Entsorgungsstation sowie ein Strom- und Wasseranschluss direkt an jedem Platz.
LOS OLIVOS DE XIVERT liegt zwischen den Bergen und der Küste. Der Strand ist mit dem Fahrzeug in ca. 5 Minuten erreichbar, ebenso der wunderschöne Naturpark. Der Flughafen in Castellón ist nur 23 km entfernt und der Flughafen Valencia ist in ca. 1,5 Stunden erreichbar.
Der Swimmingpool ist saisonal im Sommer geöffnet. Außerdem gibt es ein Restaurant VELA BAR mit einer kleinen Einkaufsmöglichkeit, Waschmaschinen/Trockner (gegen Entgelt) und einen Kinderspielplatz.
Für Hundebesitzer gibt es einen abgetrennten Bereich, um die Hunde auszuführen.
Der Campingpark ist außerdem behindertengerecht ausgestattet.
Für sportliche Aktivitäten gibt es drei Boccia Plätze, Sportgeräte im Außenbereich. Ein Fitnessraum mit Geräten, Billard (gegen Entgelt) und Dart gehören ebenfalls dazu.
LOS OLIVOS DE XIVERT befindet sich am Ortsrand und ist ca. 900 m vom Stadtzentrum ALCALÁ DE XIVERT entfernt, wo es ein Gesundheitszentrum, eine Polizeistation (hier gibt es übrigens zwei Ladestationen für Elektrofahrzeuge), Banken, Supermärkte (Consum und DIA), Metzger, Bäckereien, Gemüsehändler, Bars, ein Postamt, einen Blumenladen, mehrere Restaurants, ein Kosmetistudio sowie eine Bus- und Bahnstation uvm. gibt.

Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia Totana Murcia Spain.
Went out to find the a lost village on the Espuna and came across a locked gate! Explore another day but changed route and visited the Santa Eulalia which was a monastery but now a hotel. Must visit the church, it’s worth viewing.

Aledo Totana Murcia Spain #expatinmazarron
Aledo 22 December 2018 late afternoon.
Aledo Totana Murcia Spain.
About 30 minutes from Camposol, Aledo, strategically placed and controlling the valley of the Guadalentín. During the Islamic period it was converted into a fortress and held out against Christian forces until the 12th century, when it was taken by troops led by Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, better-known nowadays under the name of 'El Cid’.
Processionary Caterpillar - they build the white cotton-wool like nest and continue to feed on the pine leaves. This usually happens any time from February to April. The caterpillars (procesionaria del pino) make their way to the ground in a long chain searching for the next place in their life cycle. This behaviour gives them the name of the ‘processionary caterpillar’.
It is the hairs of the caterpillars that can cause problems. If they are touched or poked they cause a nasty rash and give off dust that can cause respiratory problems. They are particularly toxic for children and animals.
Dogs are particularly susceptible as they will pick up the hairs on their paws and then lick them as they start to itch. This then leads to the hairs being transferred on to the animal’s tongue and can result in itching, swelling, vomiting and even death.

The One With All the Buses | Puerto de Mazarron-Totana-Murcia-Puerto de Mazarron
Our Spanish holiday saw us take a day on public transport. We travelled on various bus and coach operators throughout the region of Murcia in Spain. First up we travel with a small coach firm called Autocares Martinez from Puerto de Mazarron to Totana.
Next up was a rail replacement bus service from Totana railway station to Murcia del Carmen. Operated by A Muñoz on behalf of Renfe.
Finally, we take a bus with Interbus from Murcia back to Puerto de Mazarron.

Het stadje Totana staat bekend om haar keramiek (aardewerk, steengoed en porselein). Ik bezocht een traditionele bakkerij waar ze met de hand keramiek maken en beschilderen. Schalen, kannen, potten ... ze maken het hier allemaal. En ook de straatnaambordjes in Totana zelf zijn door deze bakkerij gemaakt.
