According to the legend, Zaynab escaped from the castle by using a rope made of her own hair, and eventually found refuge in the nearby town of San Roque.

3. Visit the Gibraltar Museum
The Gibraltar Museum is a small but fascinating museum that showcases the rich history and culture of Gibraltar, from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum features interactive exhibits, artifacts, and displays that cover topics such as geology, archaeology, natural history, and the military history of Gibraltar. Visitors can also see the remains of a Neanderthal skull and learn about the Great Siege of Gibraltar.

One of the highlights of the Gibraltar Museum is the exhibit on the prehistoric period, which includes displays on the first human settlers in Gibraltar, the Neanderthals. Visitors can see the remains of a Neanderthal skull that was discovered in Gibraltar in the 1840s, providing evidence of early human habitation in the area.

2. Take a Boat Tour to see the Pillars of Hercules
The Pillars of Hercules is a legendary rock formation that marks the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. According to ancient mythology, these two massive pillars were created by the Greek hero Hercules, who pushed apart the mountains to create a passage between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Visitors can take a boat tour to see these impressive natural landmarks and learn about their history and significance.

In addition to their mythical significance, the Pillars of Hercules hold a significant historical and cultural importance. The ancient Greeks believed that beyond the pillars lay the unknown and unexplored world, which was both fascinating and terrifying. Many explorers and adventurers, including the famous Phoenician navigator and explorer, sailed beyond the pillars to discover new lands and civilizations. Today, the pillars are a symbol of strength and endurance, and they continue to inspire people from all over the world. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful coastline and marine life while on a boat tour to the Pillars of Hercules.

1.Go Shopping on Main Street
Main Street is the bustling commercial center of Gibraltar, lined with shops, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. Visitors can shop for souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and other items, and sample local delicacies such as Gibraltar's famous fish and chips or its signature drink, a gin and tonic made with locally distilled gin. The street is also home to several historic buildings, including the Governor's Residence and the Parliament House.

Apart from shopping and dining, Main Street offers visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and history of Gibraltar. The street is home to several beautiful colonial-era buildings, such as the Convent, which was once the residence of the Governor of Gibraltar, and the Grand Casemates Square, a popular meeting place and venue for cultural events and performances. Visitors can also explore the Cathedral of St. Mary the Crowned, a stunning Catholic church that dates back to the 15th century and features beautiful stained glass windows and a rich history. Moreover, Main Street is also a great place to people-watch, and get a taste of local life in Gibraltar.

Top 10 Cities in Europe

What are the top 10 Cities in Europe? Some of the most fascinating cities in the world are in Europe. You will be able to experience the romantic vibes in Paris and feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Florence, for example. Almost, the entire continent is filled with picturesque landscapes, excellent architecture, and some of the most lip-smacking dishes. For a fact, it will be extremely difficult to determine the topmost among European cities. This is partly due to differences in the individual's interests, tastes, and freaks. Regardless of whatever your choice is, here are the top 10 cities in Europe.
10. Madrid
This is a city that has seen a significant increase in tourism in recent years. The best we can say about Madrid is that individuals who visit it fall in love with it because of its wonderful and welcoming attitude. Despite its vast size, the capital and largest city in Spain is very pleasant to visit, thanks to the majority of the city's legacy and points of interest that are concentrated in its historic core.
Various areas around Madrid designated as World Heritage Sites can be visited in a day. The medieval city of Toledo, known as the city of the three cultures, was a place where Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived side by side for centuries. It is considered a must-see on any trip to Europe.
9. Barcelona
Because of its modernist architecture, the city of Barcelona is one of the most desirable destinations in the world. It is 372 miles from Madrid, but it takes less than an hour by plane, with flights virtually every hour. Alternatively, you may use the fast train (AVE), which takes three hours.
It is the site where Antoni Gaud created some of his masterpieces, which draw millions of visitors each year and contribute to the distinctive urbanism of the city. However, there are also more noteworthy areas, such as the Gothic Quarter with its Gothic cathedral or the stunning Cathedral of the Sea.
If you have the opportunity to travel outside of Barcelona, the Monserrat monastery, which is one of the most visited sites, is a worthwhile stop.
8. Rome
There are regular flights from Barcelona to Rome and you may be in the old city of Rome in less than 2 hours if you choose. Rome, the Italian capital of one of the most important empires in human history, has retained an astonishing amount of its historical legacy. This largest city in the country is enormous, and you'll need, at least, two days to see everything, especially if you want to add a visit to the Vatican City.
It appears to be a marvel that huge structures such as the Roman Colosseum and the Pantheon of Agrippa have remained to this day after more than 2000 years. If you want to take time to see everything, you need to sign up for an excursion or guided tour, because the city is so big and has so many places to see.
7. Florence
Florence is another one of those places in Italy that you must see if you are planning a vacation to Europe. It is the birthplace of the Renaissance and one of those places that will surprise you by giving you more than you bargained for, and to which you would gladly return again and again.
The best way to get to Florence from Rome is by train. It takes a little over an hour to reach the heart of this one of the top 10 cities in Europe. There is one visit that you must do whether you are visiting Florence or if you are coming from Florence; you must approach Pisa and climb to the top of its leaning tower.
Additionally, the magnificent village of San Gimignano, a beautiful town with ancient towers, and the famed Piazza del Campo in Siena are both highly recommended excursions. If you are short on time, you can still see Florence in one day and then go on a trip the next day to get to know some of the hidden gems of the lovely area of Tuscany that surround it.

Welcome to the Costa del Sol. 22 Things To Do in Malaga and the Costa del Sol.

Almost all beaches along the Golden Mile are Blue Flag, with lots of fun activities, shallow waves and plenty of sand. They’re family-friendly, and have disabled access and there’s almost always food of one sort or another close by.

The Marina at Puerto Banus isn’t far from the beach. It may not be the biggest of places of places along the Costa del Sol but it’s certainly a shop-aholic’s haven.

While Benalmadena Marina is a bit more ‘every man’. The vibe here is more family-focused and relaxed and the beach here is huge! If you’re staying around Marbs, you should definitely check out the Ocean Club. TOWIE fans, this is a must!

This is the Mariposario Butterfly Park. 150 species of butterfly flutter and float in the air. They’ve even adopted a pair of iguanas, a tortoise and a wallaby!

Balcon de Europa is just as relaxing as rewarding. The funny thing is, everyone thinks the King actually founded the place… He didn’t, it was a well-known local secret; he just came up with the name.

Frigiliana is a labyrinth of cobbled, winding streets. And what makes it more traditional are these gorgeous white-washed buildings. One of the best things about this place is the views.

You’ll find Orange Square in Marbella Old Town, a medieval courtyard of lively and colourful restaurants, cafes and shops.

A day trip to Malaga should definitely be on the cards. Pablo Picasso was born right here in Malaga in 1881 and became a highly influential artist in painting, sculpture and even print-making, to develop Cubist and Surrealist movements, among others. And this museum is devoted to his works.

Malaga Cathedral dates back to the 1500s. The original design for the cathedral had it with two towers, although now it only has the one. In fact, that second tower was never built because they ran out of money during the building process, thus there’s only one. The locals around here affectionately refer to this building as ‘The Lady with One Arm’ or, La Manquita.

Alcazaba Fort is said to be the city’s most important landmark because of its strategic hilltop position, overlooking the ocean, to watch out for any invaders.

The Nerja Caves are a subterranean labyrinth of stalactites and stalagmites that date back millions of years. Above ground, a beautiful way to see the countryside and meet with the locals is on a John Keo guided walking tour. Bring your lunch, your camera and an ear for local stories. This really is a memorable way to spend a day of your holiday and learn about the natural landscape you’re holidaying in.

The cable car in Benalmadena gives you some of the most beautiful views in the Costa del Sol, at nearly 800m above sea-level.
