Hi guys welcome to aclaireytale!!! I'm so excited to be working with @StagecoachBus company on this video in Torquay!! Thank you for your support on this vlog, it means so much to me that I can do things like this and show you all the things you can do in the South West.

In this vlog, I show you things to do in the Torbay area. Torquay, Babbacombe, Brixham and Paignton. We commute to and from these little towns via the Stagecoach open topped and close topped buses and honestly we had such fun!!

I travel from Liverpool to Bristol to meet my best friend in Bristol and then we drive to Torquay! I film us getting to Abbey Sands Hotel, we had such a great stay here! I show you a room tour at Abbey Sands. The room was massive and the hotel is so well situated it's literally at Torquay beach. I would highly recommend! We had breakfast at the hotel on the first morning, lots of choice. Then we walk to the beach were we pick up the Stagecoach open topped bus the 112 using our tickets on the Stagecoach app. The open topped buses are so much fun, we had incredible views, loved the breeze and it was so easy to get to and fro. Our first stop was at @minimaker123 ! Babbacombe model village was so good, much bigger and better than what we were expecting! I show you a couple of highlights. We have some snacks at the cafe and then we head out and walk along the beautiful Babbacombe ocean front. Back on the bus to Kents Cavern. This is a must do if you are coming to Torquay! Such a great experience. @Kents_Cavern back onto the bus but this time to Paignton! Paignton was a cute seaside town with a fun fair and lovely beaches. We had fish and chips and then an ice cream as we walk alongside the beach. There were these stunning brightly coloured beach huts along the coast! Back in Torquay now and we go to On The Rocks for dinner. We had some burgers and ice cream and head back to the hotel for the next day!
The next day we go for breakfast at Offshore Cafe and then it's time for our Raptor Ride and Torquay Watersports! @torquaywatersports4733 This was the most fun thing we did all trip!! I hope you like the footage!! We get ready for the day and then get the 12 Stagecoach bus to Brixham! We get Devon Afternoon cream tea at Liberty Cafe! it was the cutest little cafe! Scones were delicious. We look around Brixham a little more, loved the brightly coloured houses on the harbour. We got the bus back to Torquay and got off at Lincombe Hall Hotel. The spa was incredible and we had the most relaxing facials each! We get dinner at Amici Restaurant in Torquay, our favourite meal of the trip! I had the nicest lasagne! And that's a wrap on the most wonderful stay in Torquay! I hope you enjoyed the video and it gives you some ideas and recommendations of things to do in Torquay Devon!
Massive thank you to Stagecoach for sponsoring this video and making it so easy for us to get around!

Thank you all for watching, I really appreciate it!!!

TORQUAY Devon August 2021 - Town Centre & Harbour - 4K Virtual Walk

Join us for a walk in Torquay, Devon, England. We walk through Torquay town centre down to Torquay harbour.

Torquay is a seaside town in Devon, England, UK. Torbay's beautiful South Devon coastline is known as the English Riviera. Torquay together with Babbacombe, Paignton and Brixham is one of the top places to holiday in the UK. The English Riviera is most famous for its award winning sandy beaches and exotic palm trees, but has much more to offer than just seaside holidays.

Fleet Walk Shopping Centre is located in the heart of Torquay Town Centre, with the iconic Torquay harbourside found just a short walk away. Fleet Walk Shopping Centre has street-level shops and an upper-level shopping deck. The long, curved building which follows the street is magnolia-coloured and in mock Victorian style. Fleet Walk is home to over 50 of the best high street names together with a mix of specialist and independent shops.

Torquay Harbour is a well-protected yacht haven with access to some of the best facilities in the Southwest. It’s the ideal base from which to explore the English Riviera’s coast. Torquay Harbour has close links with the leisure and tourism industry acting as a base for many boat trips and watersports. In addition to this, it remains a fully operational working harbour and bustling port.

The main outer harbour and Torquay Marina provide both visitor and permanent pontoon berthings. The inner harbour offers additional permanent moorings and is located behind a tidal cill. The cill wall retains the water at low tide level, preventing the harbour from drying out and therefore retaining its attractive appearance. A striking pedestrian footbridge - the Millennium Bridge - spans the entrance to the inner harbour, linking North and South Piers. The style of the bridge reflects the sails of a ship and by night it is lit up providing an eye-catching backdrop to the area.

Torquay’s harbour lies at the heart of the town and is only a short walk from a wide variety of facilities. Restaurants to suit all pockets surround the harbour, from locally sourced fish and chips to Michelin starred dining. To the west of Torquay Harbour lies the Princess Theatre and Torre Abbey Sands.

Torquay inner harbour is surrounded by a mixture of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, establishing the harbour area as the main hub of the town. The vibrant atmosphere and picturesque setting of Torquay harbour and marina provides an ideal setting for a great number of exciting activities. At night time, the Inner Harbour area is also a great place to come for drinks, as there are many lively bars here.

The popular British television sitcom Fawlty Towers was set in a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay on the English Riviera. Although the series is set in Torquay, no part of it was shot in South West England.

The writer Agatha Christie was born in Torquay and lived at Ashfield in Torquay during her early years. There is an Agatha Christie Mile, a tour with plaques dedicated to her life and work.

5 DAYS IN TORQUAY | TORQUAY TRAVEL GUIDE

This summer we spent 5 days in Torquay, for a few different reasons:
It is a costal town and for us summer holidays are equivalent to beach plus vitamin sea.
It is easy to get to by train
It is conveniently located near other towns, local landmarks and attractions
Torquay is located in Devon, a region famous for its landscapes and dairy products and a place that I’ve always wanted to visit
It is called The English Riviera so it gives it a bit of a French aura if you ignore the weather, the food and the language

Torquay is easy to get to by train, so we had a smooth journey and only had to change once. We love the GWR trains because they are reliable and comfortable. During our stay we took a few trips to nearby towns, such as Dartmouth and spent the rest of the time enjoying everything that Torquay has to offer. We stayed at @HamptonInn Torquay which was close to the train and the harbour. We tried some very cool water adventures, such as a high speed boat ride, kayak tours and open water swimming. We also went on a hike alongside the coast, enjoying breath taking views and plenty of sunshine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure, but here are a few things to watch out for: some of the attractions were overpriced, and the water tours tend to be similar, sharing nearly the same content and showing the same sights, so choose wisely. In my opinion the best value for money was the kayaking tour. Another thing to watch out for is restaurant bookings, we didn’t have a lot of luck with customer experience and with finding places to eat, probably due to being severely understaffed and taken by storm by unexpected amounts of tourists this summer.

This year we were actually supposed to go on holiday with my family to Turkey, but it looks like Torquay [pronounced: tor-KEE] was the closest we were able to get to Turkey. Despite not able to go ahead with our Turkey plans, Torquay was a great option for our summer getaway and it is a convenient location for those of us who reside in England, providing entertainment and relaxation to tourists since Victorian times. Other things that we didn’t get the chance to see but which sound interesting are: The Agatha Christie museum, Torquay Museum and Kent’s Caverns. Check them out if you get the chance and let me know what you thought of Torquay’s most popular attractions. If you liked this video give it a like and please subscribe to my channel for more content.

Safe travels!

Babbacombe Cliff Railway & Downs - DEVON - 2022 - TORQUAY - ENGLAND - UK -Top attractions in torquay

Babbacombe Downs & Cliff Railway
Babbacombe Cliff Railway, also known as the Babbacombe Cliff Lift, is a funicular railway in the town of Torquay in the English county of Devon. It links Babbacombe Downs with Oddicombe Beach. The line runs every day, with a closure period in winter for maintenance. The first car runs at 09:30, and the last at 17:30. A bell is rung 30 and 15 minutes before closing,
Babbacombe Downs Rd, Torquay TQ1 3LF
Babbacombe Downs is situated approximately 300 feet above sea level, overlooking Babbacombe Bay and Lyme Bay. On a clear day, you will have visibility for about 30 miles of coastline. Babbacombe's promenade high cliff top is probably one of the highest in Britain, but this does not diminish its popularity with visitors.
The panoramic view beyond East Devon and into Dorset, causes many people to insert coins in the cliff top telescope, in a bid to spot the distant landmark of Portland Bill.
It is an arduous climb from the harbour up to Babbacombe Downs, a wide paterre laid out with lawns and flower beds with seats and shelters that look out over the blue reaches of Babbacombe Bay.
