Bronx, New York - Throgs Neck

Throgs Neck, Bronx!

New York Neighborhoods: Throggs Neck in the Bronx

Fox 5 takes you on a short tour of the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.

Bronx Walk NYC - Exploring Throggs Neck Neighborhood, September 2021

Exploring Throggs Neck neighborhood is something I wanted to do earlier in the winter but because of other prevailing issues I had to wait until now. Although I did not explore the whole area but capture the area such as St. Frances de Chantal Church and Throgs Neck Little League Field. When I passed by some were still practicing/playing, while others were done with their games. I had interesting and exciting walk exploration. I do hope you have a great time exploring with me virtually. Please subscribe if you are new. And do not forget to like and comment. Thanks. TEchi World Walk.

Throggs Neck (also known as Throgs Neck) is a neighborhood and peninsula in the south-eastern portion of the borough of the Bronx in New York City. It is bounded by the East River and Long Island Sound to the south and east, Westchester Creek on the west, and Baisley Avenue and the Bruckner Expressway on the north.

The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community District 10, and its ZIP Code is 10465. Throggs Neck is patrolled by the 45th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.

The Church of St. Frances de Chantal is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at Harding Avenue at Throggs Neck Blvd., Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in 1927.

The present Brutalist-style church structure was built 1971 to designs by Paul W. Reilly.[1][2] Colorful chunks of stained glass are set directly into the concrete in the style of the then-contemporary European post-war stained-glass work. Larry Lawton was once an altar boy there.

Check out the view from SUNY Maritime! On one side you catch the view of the Throgs Neck Bridge. When you finish the loop you catch the spectacular view of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge with a view of Manhattan.

On this drive, we cover Harding Avenue and Pennyfield Avenue. Pennyfield Avenue feels like a rustic Northeast country road outside the city. It was a beautiful day to drive in the Crown Victoria. Enjoy!
