My favourite place in South Africa: nature, relax, birdwatching and great hospitality
My favourite place in South Africa is Marula Cottage Guest Lodge in Thabazimbi (Limpopo Province). This is a small, family-run Guest House of excellent quality. It is located on a hill, just above the inhabited center of Thabazimbi, a quiet place in the green. The Guest house has a wonderful garden with a stunning views of the Marakele and Kransberg Mountains. The entrance of Marakele National Park is only a few kilometers away. Monika and Dave run Marula Cottage spectacularly - they are friendly, welcoming and caring hosts. The food is great. They have very cheerful and clever dogs. In the garden of Marula Cottage you can enjoy excellent bird watching. We have seen many species of birds, including the woodland kingfisher, the flycatcher, finches, pigeons, parrots, cuckoos, oriol, woodpeckers, weaver birds, starlings, cordon bleu etc ... and then there are always surprises, like the little bushbaby who fell into the fireplace.

Il mio posto preferito in Sudafrica è il Marula Cottage Guest House di Thabazimbi. Si tratta di una piccola Guest House a gestione familiare, di ottima qualità. Si trova in collina, poco sopra il centro abitato di Thabazimbi, un posto tranquillo, immerso nel verde. La Guest house ha un giardino meraviglioso. Dal Marula Cottage si gode di una vista spettacolare sulla catena montuosa del parco nazionale Marakele National Park; l'entrata a questo parco dista solo qualche chilometro. Monika e Dave gestiscono il Marula Cottage in modo spettacolare: sono dei padroni di casa gentili e premurosi. Il cibo è ottimo. Hanno dei cani molto allegri ed intelligenti. Nel giardino del Marula Cottage si può fare dell'ottimo birdwatching. Noi abbiamo visto tantissime specie di uccelli, tra i quali il martin pescatore di bosco, l'uccello del paradico, fringuelli di diverse specie, piccioni, pappagalli, cucu, oriola, picchio, uccelli tessitori, storni, cordon bleu ecc... e poi non mancano mai le sorprese, come il piccolo bushbaby caduto nel caminetto.

Rain and muddy roads near Thabazimbi
Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today. On 21 November 2023, we started today's video driving in the rain and on muddy roads near Thabazimbi in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. It was also raining late in the afternoon in Pretoria yesterday. Then, we show you the view of Table Mountain from Burgundy Estate in Cape Town. We then show a sea otter spotted at Kommetjie. We also show a beautiful cheetah next to the road in Kruger National Park and show you more videos from around South Africa.
