CANARY ISLANDS Tazacorte, La Palma
Tazacorte is a town and a municipality on the island of La Palma, Province of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. It is near the coast, in the western part of the island. The population of the municipality is 4,600 (2018) and the area is 11.37 km². The average elevation is 60 m. Tazacorte is 2 km southwest of Los Llanos de Aridane and 17 km west of the island capital Santa Cruz de La Palma. The inhabitants are known as Bagañetes.
Farmlands, producing almost exclusively bananas, occupy as much as 85% of the land area of Tazacorte. The widespread use, and occasional continued misuse, of insecticides has led to significant concern, as cancer rates for residents is higher than national statistics.

This is La Palma island, the most beautiful of the Spanish Canary Islands, vastly overshadowed by its neighbours such as Tenerife and Gran Canaria when it comes to tourism.
It's home to international observatories and the perfect night sky, but it's also an island that still very much shows its scars from the 2021 volcanic eruption and more recent wild fires.

Wir erkunden mit dir den Nationalpark Caldera de Taburiente, wandern auf den höchsten Punkt den Roque de los Muchachos und erleben ein spektakuläres Naturphänomen: den Wolkenwasserfall, der sich über dem Gebirgszug Cumbre Nueve zusammenbraut. Das sieht atemberaubend aus.
Eine sehr beliebte Wanderung ist die Ruta de los Vulcanes - die Vulkanroute. Hier wanderst du an Kraterrändern, gelangst zu riesigen Lavafeldern und erkundest eine spannende Vulkanlandschaft. Die Hauptstadt Santa Cruz de La Palma besticht mit wunderschönen Balkons und einer tollen Innenstadt.
Wir nehmen dich noch mit zu einer Schmugglerhöhle, der Poris de Candelaria, laufen zu den Salinas de Fuencaliente, erkunden die Grüne Lagune, schauen uns den langen Strand Playa de Tazacorte an und besuchen den schönsten Ort der Insl: Los LLanos.
Natürlich wandern wir auch durch die Schlucht der Ängste und durch den Tilos Lorbeerwald. Du siehst also: La Palma bietet unglaublich schöne Sehenswürdigkeiten, die du auf keinen Fall verpassen solltest.

It is home to one of the best beaches on the west side and since its close to Los Llanos, its a popular place with both locals and tourists. There are countless seafood restaurants along the promenande beside the beach. There is also a large marina here used for fishing boats and tourist excursions.

Playa de Tazacorte, La Palma (4K)
Playa de Tazacorte is the biggest and most popular beach on the west coast of La Palma, Canary Islands. It is a large beach with black volcanic sand.
Since it's only a few minutes drive from Los Llanos and Tazacrote, it is popular with locals and tourists alike. Playa de Tazacrote is large. The area in the corner by the walls is always safe and calm for swimming, even when its rough elsewhere. If you keep walking towards to harbour you will get to the nudist area of Playa De Tazacrote. There are numerous cafes, bars and tapas places for you to get a bit to eat along the promenade of the beach.

Playa Nueva - Mangón, Tazacorte, La Palma (4K)
Playa Nueva, also known as Playa Mangón is a large black sand beach below the town of Tazacorte. Getting to the beach requires a 10-15 minute walk, at the end you have to walk down some unstable metal steps that might not be suitable for children or people with reduced mobility. The beach is usually pretty quiet because of the difficult access, but when you are down here its amazing, soft sand and gentle waves.
