Our top 10 places:

Number 10 - El Draguillo
This hike is located on the northern part of the island. If offers stunning views over the mountains and the coastline, if you are lucky like we were, you can meet some local goats.

The nature is quite dramatic and along the way we met hundreds of small, curious lizards. The hike took approximately 3 hours.
---
Number 9 - Cueva del Tancón
Is located near Los Gigantes on the west coast. There are several entrances to this cave, some people jump in from the roof.

But you can also swim into the cave directly from the sea. You have to swim down 4-5 meters and then 15-20 meters to the side. However, you must be careful here due to strong currents can pull you in or out. Swimming here is not recommended due to these risks.
---
Number 8 - Masca Valley
This beautiful valley worth visiting. If you rent a car, you should definitely stop along the way and take in the magnificent views of the winding roads down to the small village. The village is quite touristy but beautiful.
---
Number 7 - Punta de las Salinas
With only 8 available parking lots, this is not a place where you’ll find a lot of tourists. We found this place by accident, and it was a unique experience. If you come here early in the day, hopefully you’ll have the whole place to yourselves. The water in the natural pool is warmer than the ocean, which is nice. If you’re into snorkeling or diving, be sure to check out the water outside the pool as well.
---
Number 6 - Turtle Bay
A couple of years ago this bay inhabited plenty of turtles, hence the name. However, there are rumours that the turtles were killed by some mad tourists. We didn’t meet any turtles unfortunately, still, the water was nice.

This bay can be quite crowded, but if you walk on the right side of the beach you’ll eventually come to a more rocky spot where you can be alone.
---
Number 5 - Arco de Tajao
This unique rock formation is located in the south, and is easy to access, only 200 meter walk from the road. Not a lot of people know about this place. When we came here, we were completely alone for half an hour.
---
Number 4 - Lunar Paisaje
Finding this amazing hike is a bit tricky. The GPS guided us to roads that were impossible for our rental car to go through. Unless you have an SUV, we recommend coming from the north, through Teide National Park. When you arrive, you’ll have to hike 1 or 2 hours until you reach the rock formations. This place is extraordinary.
---
Number 3 - Los Gigantes
The name Los Gigantes is referring to the gigant cliffs along the coast north of the village. We rented a small boat in the harbour. They had a deal, rent a boat for 4 hours and get an extra hour for free. With five hours, you’ll have plenty of time exploring the coast, caves, and the sea. This was the highlight of our snorkeling adventure.

In the harbour snorkeling is not allowed, but you’ll be able to see a lot of fish. We were lucky enough to see a huge stingray.
---
Number 2 - Anaga Forest Reserve
This huge reserve is located in the north of the island. Due to high humidity, the forest differ a lot from other parts of the island that are much dryer. Tree trunks are covered with green moss, fungi grow on old logs, and some areas are covered with large ferns.

We recommend that you go to Las Vueltas and hike up the trail north from the parking lot. This hike is much more beautiful and there are less tourists here.
----
Number 1 - Teide National Park
We placed it as number 1 for several reasons. The landscape is very unique, there are many interesting hiking trails, and most of them you can go on alone.

If you want, you can go to the top of the volcano by cable car. However, be sure to book the tickets in advance. We tried to buy tickets on the spot, but it was fully booked for the whole day.

We actually went to Teide National Park twice, once during the day, and once in the middle of the night. This is a must! I’ve never seen a clearer sky and the milky way this clear before.

The Canary Islands are located off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean and Santa Cruz de Tenerife is it's joint capital! The city is the center of maritime industry and tourism and with sub tropical temperatures round the year, its easy to fall in love with this place.

Besides opting for one of the several low-cost airlines which serve the islands, you can also cruise your way here by taking a ferry from mainland Europe. Once arrived at the docks, it's a quick 5 minute walk to the center, which is also known as Plaza de Espana!

The plaza's location on the seafront makes it a good meeting place and a great starting point when exploring the city. The Plaza de Espana is a mega photo point for all the visiting tourists. There are several monuments here with the most distinctive being the memorial dedicated to the 39 residents of the island who fought and died on Franco's side in the Civil War in the 1930s.

As you can see, the center is so close to the marina and the ferry port that you can actually see the ships from here! Another nice thing about the city is that it's very WiFi friendly! In fact, the center is actually a free wifi zone set up by the town hall and I was told that on hot days, you'd often see locals and tourists alike sitting at a square with their feet dipped in water and tapping away on their smartphone screen for hours!

I really liked this location! It was also very close to the main shopping streets with several cafes and restaurants alongside.

The Market of Nuestra Señora de Africa - best place to buy the most fresh produce from this island for example bananas, tomatoes, papayas, cheese and so on. We'll go after exploring the walking street!

About the walking street, speaking to some locals I found out that this street has some really high end expensive shops and they're mostly aiming at the tourists i.e. the locals mostly come here for window shopping or for a casual stroll but not really for actual shopping. I think this is the same for most of the walking streets world wide! The locals are smart and they know better!

Anyway, did you know that Tenerife is home to more than one million people? Yeah, that's right. In fact, nearly half of the residents of Tenerife live in this city. For me this was hard to imagine because I hardly saw any people when traveling around the island away from the center!

It's a small island, travel time is less and there are excellent bus services to other parts of the island! So I think a lot can be done within a short time period! Also, I think 1 day is more than enough to explore Santa Cruz, what do you say?

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, commonly abbreviated as Santa Cruz , is a major city, capital of the island of Tenerife, Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and capital (jointly with Las Palmas) of the Canary Islands. Santa Cruz has a population of 206,593 (2013) within its administrative limits. The urban zone of Santa Cruz extends beyond the city limits with a population of 507,306and 538,000 within urban area. It is the second largest city in the Canary Islands and the main city on the island of Tenerife, with nearly half of the island's population living in or around it.

Santa Cruz is located in the northeast quadrant of Tenerife, 210 kilometres (130 mi) off the northwestern coast of Africa within the Atlantic Ocean. The distance to the nearest point of mainland Spain is 1,300 kilometres (810 mi). Between the 1833 territorial division of Spain and 1927, Santa Cruz de Tenerife was the sole capital of the Canary Islands, until 1927 when a decree ordered that the capital of the Canary Islands be shared, as it remains at present. The port is of great importance and is the communications hub between Europe, Africa and Americas, with cruise ships arriving from many nations. The city is the focus for domestic and inter-island communications in the Canary Islands...... (wikipedia)

GARACHICO 4K - The only village from Tenerife to make the list of Most beautiful villages in Spain

The only village in Tenerife that makes the list of the most beautiful Spanish villages is Garachico, and it only takes 2 minutes of visit to understand why.

Sitting on the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Tenerife, Garachico is a village both in Culture and Nature.

The town itself has awesome architecture highlighted by there design for their balconies. The streets are super colorful and interlaced with a wide variety of tropical plants.

On the ocean side, the village is super popular for its natural rock pools. These swimming holes that are filled by the tide and waves from the sea are probably the best part of town. The only downside is they are super subject to the weather. Most of the year they are closed due to high surf, but in the summer, the most popular time of year, they are open for swimming druing the high heat months.

An absolutely stunning seaside village with a double edged set of amenities that is a must see when visiting Tenerife. A super easy destination that can be accessed by the Ocean road and a must see site when visiting the Canary Islands.

San Sebastián is a resort town on the Bay of Biscay in Spain’s mountainous Basque Country.
It’s known for Playa de la Concha and Playa de Ondarreta, beaches framed by a picturesque bayfront promenade, and world-renowned restaurants helmed by innovative chefs. In its cobblestoned old town (Parte Vieja), upscale shops neighbor vibrant pintxo bars pairing local wines with bite-size regional specialties.

Tacoronte Bodegas - Vineyard Wine Tour On Tenerife Near La Laguna

Doing a For 91 Days in a place which produces local wine - is a win / win situation for us. We get to consume reasonable priced, great wine and can take a bottle or two of our favorite one back home with us as souvenirs.

BOOK YOUR WINE TOUR WITH THEM HERE: (affiliate link)

On our last week on Tenerife - for this reason, we went to visit the Tacoronte Bodegas - to take a tour of their vineyard and cellar and to buy some bottles to take home with us.

Sadly we missed the last vineyard tour of the day but we still got to see their beautiful wine cellar, loaded with wine barrels. Also their wine store was open and we got to buy our souvenirs. This bodega is super close to La Laguna and if you don't show up too late - they're taking you on a little tour and a wine tasting to try their Tenerife Wines!
