The Best Of Amish Country: Walnut Creek And Sugar Creek, Ohio
We traveled to both Walnut Creek and Sugar Creek Ohio to expose our grandkids to Amish living. Very scenic drive and both places had lots to see. Even though we didn't scratch the surface as we ran out of time, it is worth visiting. Especially getting cinnamon rolls at Walnut Creek Cheese. Enjoy this short video to get a taste of that area. We will be returning to see more.

Amish Country: Visit The Age Of Steam Roundhouse In Sugarcreek, Ohio
We found out about this museum last season. However it was too late to get tickets as they were sold out. So we called early and ordered ours for this season. We are so glad we did. The history is incredible of our nation using steam engines.
Per Wikipedia, The Age of Steam Roundhouse is a museum roundhouse housing steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars and other railroad equipment. The roundhouse was built by Jerry Joe Jacobson, former CEO of the Ohio Central Railroad System (OCRS). In October 2008, Jacobson sold his interest in OCRS to Genesee & Wyoming, including the track, modern equipment, and most of the workshops and depots. Jacobson kept a collection of vintage steam and diesel locomotives, other old equipment, and a depot at Sugarcreek. He bought 34 acres in Sugarcreek and began constructing a roundhouse to house his collection. The roundhouse building was completed in 2011 and all of the steam locomotives, along with a few other select pieces of rolling stock in Jacobson's collection, were moved inside the roundhouse that same year.[3] It was the first large roundhouse built in the United States since 1951, with the previous building being Nickel Plate Road's roundhouse in its Calumet Yard.
As of 2012, the Age of Steam Roundhouse's website outlines its goals as:
Preserve the steam locomotives, historic diesels, passenger cars, and other railroad relics in the collection of Jerry Joe Jacobson.
Build a full-scale, operating, and realistic roundhouse and back shop to overhaul, repair, and maintain Jerry’s rolling stock.
Operate the steam locomotives on freight trains.
Display railroad heritage for future generations

This Ohio road trip plan begins at the great Serpent Mound Historic Site in Southern Ohio, along with a stop along the road at Fort Hill Earthworks and Nature Preserve. We then drive Northeast into Ohio’s hidden gem, Hocking Hills State Park. After spending time in the splendor of the forest hills, we drive North into the beauty of the Farm Hills in Amish Country. Once we are ready to move on from the countryside, we travel to the big city on Lake Erie, Cleveland, for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. We conclude this road trip, at Ohio’s top Adult Tourist Attraction and one of the most important Naval Ports in American history, Put-In-Bay.
