Adventure of Sugar, top tourist attraction in Mauritius
We visited the famous tourist attraction the Adventure of Sugar or L'Aventure du Sucre, as it is officially called. As one of the top must-do tourist attractions in Mauritius, we were expecting big things and boy did it deliver. Starting from the outside with a train and huge sugar mill equipment I was like a kid in a candy store. The adventure comes to life in the museum, it is very well done, taking you from the beginning of Mauritius all the way through the history and actually letting you walk through the internal workings of a mill until you finally leave, with sugar and rum tasting.

When I research new bike trails to ride I use the AllTrails app (love it!) for discovery and YouTube to see what the trail looks like. Many times, any questions I may have (What does the trail look like? How well taken care of is the trail? How wide is the trail? Does it look like a trail we can pull a kids trailer on? How does the new detour go? Are there many places to stop? Where does it tend to flood? How does this trail connect to that trail?) can be answered by a simple video like this. Unfortunately there are a lot of trails that I can’t find videos on or they are way out of date. Hopefully this video will help others who may want to quickly see a trail to decide if it’s a good fit for their ride style.
Sugar Grove Yellow Blaze - Appalachian Trail - Backpack America
Nobo on the Appalachian Trail after hiking through Mount Rogers and Grayson Highlands I decided to Yellow Blaze into Sugar Grove and then onto Partnership Shelter skipping almost 14 miles of trail.
I can't call it hitchhiking because I never once stuck out my thumb. The rides just stopped and offered.
This episode of Backpack America skips yet another section of the Appalachian Trail. For no reason. Just because I could, and because I'd never seen Sugar Grove or Marion before.
From where the Appalachian Trail crosses Dickey Gap, near VA 16 I yellow blazed to Sugar Grove to see the brand new Dollar General. Exciting stuff, I know.

Reagan Memorial Tollway Westbound (I-88/IL Route 56 WB), I-290 to Sugar Grove, IL | VirtualRoad
**Best viewed in 1080p60 or 720p60
Road Trip Westbound on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) through Chicago's far western suburbs. We start on the east end with the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) and pass under the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) through a large patch of woods in Elmhurst and Oak Brook. This stretch as you can see is under construction as it is being reconstructed and widened. The work will be completed at the end of 2019. From there, we pass through the large corporate corridor in the woods of Oak Brook, Lombard, and Downers Grove up to I-355 where we pass by the famous Morton Arboretum in Lisle. Another brief corporate corridor passes by before entering the hills and woods of Lisle. It is so beautiful in that area when the leaves are out and the colors are flying during the fall months! After some rolling hills, the woods open up into prairies in Naperville and Warrenville as we pass through more corporate corridor. The area between Mill Street and Raymond Drive was once all gravel pits but has since been converted into corporate corridor, woods, and apartments. We finally reach the end of the corporate corridor after passing Route 59 and entering the prairies of the north side of Aurora (#aurorastrong) and North Aurora. The road takes one more dip at the Fox River Valley and then remains flat prairie and woods the rest of the way to Sugar Grove, where our trip ends.
This is the main expressway that connects the far western suburbs of Chicago. You'll notice just about all of it is concrete and at least three lanes in each direction and a lot of it four in each direction. The section between York Road and Naperville Road was reconstructed and widened in 2006-2008. The section between Naperville Road and west of Route 59 (my personal favorite section because it is a long whistle!) was reconstructed and widened in 2004-2005. West of Route 59 to the Aurora Toll was reconstructed in 2003-2004 and the Aurora Toll to IL Route 56 was reconstructed and widened in 2008-2009. So most of this section of road is still in good shape and have only just started getting their first patches in 2018. If you continue west of IL Route 56 on I-88 you will eventually reach DeKalb, I-39, Dixon (Ronald Reagan's hometown), and the Quad Cities. The areas in Oak Brook and around I-355 can be congested during peak hours but are otherwise moving really well! Much better than they were before the big projects of the mid to late 2000's.
