Die Altstadt von Freiburg im Breisgau mit ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten – besonders dem Münster und den Bächle – ist Ziel von jährlich über drei Millionen Besuchern. „Die westliche gotische Einturmfassade ist ein Meisterwerk von europäischen Rang“, so liest man im Stadtführer über das Münster. Die mit Wasser der Dreisam gespeisten „Bächle“ sind in den meisten Straßen und Gassen der Altstadt zu sehen. Seit dem Mittelalter waren die Wasserläufe mit 15 km Länge ein Teil der Wasserversorgung Freiburgs. Heute werden sie als reine Sehenswürdigkeit weiter gepflegt.
Das Leben in Freiburg wird heute nicht unerheblich von den fast 30.000 Studenten geprägt. Die im Jahr 1457 gegründete Albert-Ludwigs-Universität ist eine der ältesten und renommiertesten Hochschulen Deutschlands. Das markante Gebäude der Universitätsbibliothek Freiburg mit einer Fassade aus Glas und dunkelmattiertem Chromstahl wurde 2015 erbaut. Die Universität ist nicht nur wegen der Studenten relevant, sie ist mit ihren fast 13.000 Arbeitsplätzen einschließlich des Klinikum einer der wichtigsten Arbeitgeber in ganz Südbaden.
Staufen im Breisgau
Heute unternehmen Steffi und Franz-Josef einen Rundgang durch das historische Staufen im Breisgau. Die sehr schöne, mittelalterliche Stadt südlich von Freiburg birgt zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die sich markant über die Rheinebene erhebende Burg Staufe wurde wahrscheinlich im 11. Jahrhundert erbaut – zum Schutz des reichen Silberbergbaus im Münstertal, der die Haupteinnahmequelle für die Herren von Staufen bildete. Berühmtester Einwohner Staufens war Johann Georg Faust, jener sagenumwobene Alchimist und Magier, der nicht nur durch Goethe in die Weltliteratur einging.

0096 Staufen, Hebungen, Risse und eine tolle Burg - Ausflug mit Claudia und Heinz
Heute zeige ich euch die schöne Stadt Staufen im Breisgau. Hier wurden Bohrungen für Sonden für den Betrieb einer Wärmepumpe durchgeführt. Dadurch drang Wasser in die tiefer gelegenen Gips-Schichten ein. Gips dehnt sich aus, wenn es nass wird. So hat sich ein Teil der Altstadt so angehoben, dass die Häuser beschädigt wurden. Sie haben Risse und Setzungen. Aus dem Missgeschick sollte man lernen. Es ist immer gefährlich, Bodenschichten zu durchstoßen.
Doch Staufen hat mehr zu bieten: eine wunderschöne Altstadt, Innenstadt. Mit Wasserläufen und Cafes. Hier gibt es auch die Original Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.
Hier traf ich mich mit Claudia und Heinz aus Olfen. Wir trafen uns in Sulzbach, das direkt neben Staufen liegt. Wir haben Gerillt und und die Stadt zusammen angeschaut. Am zeiten Tag bin ich mit Heinz noch mal zu der Burg Staufen gefahren.
