If you missed last weeks vlog, I spent the day exploring the city of Bilbao, visiting all of the main attractions in Bilbao (Watch that vlog here: ).. So for my second day in Bilbao I headed towards the coast to town of Getxo. Getxo is a beautiful fisherman's village and home to the world's first transporter bridge which is still in use to this day!

It was about an hour drive from San Sebastian to the small village in the mountains, home to Asador Etxebarri within a stone building. The location is beautiful, gorgeous Basque countryside with green grass, natural and fresh.
Chef and owner Victor Arguinzoniz is a master of cooking everything over fire - he’s Spain’s king of BBQ. When you think about bbq, you often think of steak and meat - and yes you will get one of the best steaks of your life - but it’s so much more than that - you’ll be introduced to seafood and vegetables and everything, kissed by the smoke and grill. Chef Victor sources the best single ingredients from across Spain and serves them simply - he even tells me he cooks primitive style. However, he has truly mastered fire. The food is simple, but as high quality as possible and that’s what stands out.
Without a doubt one of the best Spanish food experiences and meals in the world!

What to do in Bilbao Spain - Basque Country Travel Guide
Bilbao located in northern Spain - The Basque Country - has lots to offer and has more that the famous Guggenheim museum. We spend 24 hours exploring the top sites in Bilbao and we weren't disappointed.
Walk around the old street in the Casco Viejo area and go to one of the many bars to sample the pintxos - tapas style bar snacks - famous in this region.
Visit the Mercado de la Ribera (main market) to see or the food stalls or visit the bars in the same building in the evening for some beer and a delicious selection of foods available.
Puente Colgante is the world’s oldest transporter bridge and located in Bilbao - the most unusual bridge, you can cross in your car or on foot.
For aerial views over the city head up Artxanda Mountain on the funicular railway.
We had a fabulous time there.
When we left we visited Butron Castle - and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe - (castle rock) is the most beautiful church on an island - accessed along a long walkway - well worth a visit.

Tiny Tour | Gaztelugatxe Spain | The Amazing Islet 2019 Autumn
Hi guys, in this episode we visitied Gaztelugache(Euskera name: Gaztelugatxe ). it is an islet of the town Bermeo , in Basque Country (in the province of Bizkaia, Spain ). It is linked to the mainland by a bridge with two arches. On the island there is a chapel dedicated to San Juan dating from the 10th century, although some discoveries date from the 9th century. Together with another small neighboring island, that of Aquech , it forms a protected biotope , which extends from the town of Baquio to Cape Machichaco , in the Bay of Biscay . We’re here in Autunm and it’s already pretty crowded, it would be much more in Summer. All because this is one of the places HBO chose to film their show Game of Thrones. I hope you enjoy the view when climbing with us to the top of the islet.

Sopelana / Bilbao Euskal web Telebista - La playa de Barinatxe-La Salvaje, a 23 kilómetros de Bilbao, está enclavada entre Sopela y Getxo, y tiene una longitud de 752 metros.
El fondo es de arena y en la zona derecha, La Triangular, de arena y roca. Rompe en todas las marea. En la zona oeste de la playa está la ola de La Batidora, donde predominan las izquierdas. En la zona centro se encuentra La Corriente, una izquierda muy técnica y muy cambiante en función de la marea, el tamaño del swell y la corriente. En Barinatxe los fondos son muy cambiantes y pueden dar olas de mucha calidad. La playa de Barinatxe, enclavada entre los municipios vizcaínos de Sopela y Getxo, es conocida también como La Salvaje. Se trata de una playa amplia y abierta, rodeada de hermosos acantilados, y cuenta con una zona naturista.
Orientada al noroeste, la frecuencia de olas es bastante alta. Es una playa que cuenta con distintos picos, la más conocida es la ola de La Triangular, de fondo rocoso, que puede aguantar bastante tamaño y funciona con todas las mareas. Se trata de una derecha larga con un pico muy concentrado pero bastante noble, lo que la hace ideal para la práctica del longboard, en marea baja tiene una izquierda más vertical con secciones tuberas.
