The Ilocos Region is the first region located in northwestern Luzon. It is comprised of two major provinces: Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. There’s no right answer on which one to visit first, the goal is to visit both! You’ll enjoy Laoag in the north, famously dubbed as the Sunshine City, or to the south in Vigan where you will be taken back to the Spanish colonization era in the Philippines. Whether you want to go on a history or nature trip, Ilocos will leave you craving for more every time you visit.

In Ilocos Norte, we have Laoag, the capital of Ilocos Norte. One of the most notable destinations here is the two-story mansion that was the former holiday home of late President Marcos and his family. It is now a museum, where visitors are free to explore and check out almost every nook and cranny of the house. When you’re done, you can head for Paoay and find tranquility by the lake, go to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Paoay Church, or ride a 4x4 and slide down the sand dunes. If you have more time, you can take a visit to the Batac museum and view the memorabilia of the late President Marcos.

In Ilocos Sur, you’ll be delighted to step into the picturesque Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Carrer d'Aragó is a street in Barcelona. It is one of the widest streets and one of the main traffic routes in the Eixample district, and also apart from Sant Martí. In the design of the Pla Cerdà it appears named with the letter L, and received its current name already in the initial proposal of names for the streets of the Eixample made by Víctor Balaguer in 1863.

The street numbering begins at the intersection with Carrer de Tarragona, and ends at the intersection with Carrer de Lope de Vega, although here the street continues under the name of Rambla de Guipúzcoa. For most of its route, from Avinguda Meridiana to Carrer de Tarragona, traffic travels on a single one-way road to the south-west (Llobregat), in other words, the opposite of numbering. In its central section it gets to have up to seven lanes destined to the traffic, but it is narrowed slightly from the street of Casanova where is the beginning of the avenue of Rome. On the other hand, in the section of the Clot district, from Avinguda Meridiana to the northeast, it has two opposite lanes separated by a central promenade. The nearest parallel streets are Carrer de València to the north and Carrer del Consell de Cent to the south.

Below this street, from Avinguda de Roma to Bilbao Street, is the railway tunnel on Carrer d'Aragó. Prior to the coverage of this tunnel, the tracks were arranged in a trench shape, creating a ditch in the middle of the street.
