The history of Purple Island:
*Banwol-do, or “half-moon island”, is located in Sinan County – a county in the province of South Jeolla in South Korea. Everything on the island is washed in purple hues – from its bridge, roads, houses, and fields.
*Banwoldo – The island cannot be accessed by car, so if it is too hard for you to walk, you can take the electric car provided here. Another option is to rent a bicycle to appreciate the beautiful hue of purple around the place.
*Purple Bridge – This is a bridge that connects Banwoldo Island to Bakjido Island. It is very long and takes about two hours walking slowly by foot. The ocean view from here is very cool and attractive.
*Purple Village – It is a village in Banwoldo Island with real residents! The interesting part to note is that the residents like to wear purple clothes too.

The Purple Island | Sinan
The Purple Island. Finally we are here!
Sinan County is located at the southwest coast of Korea. And interestingly, it consists of only 1004 islands, not including land.
This county is famous for the Korea's former president Kim Daejung's hometown. He was a 2000 Nobel Peace Prize recipient for his work for democracy and human rights. Lee Sedol, a former prominent professional Go player, was also born in Sinan. He had a remarkable series of matches against AlphaGo in 2016.
The Purple Bridge is connecting three islands, Anjwado, Bakjido, and Banwoldo. It is a beautiful island for a easy walk to refresh yourself. Visit with whom you purple!* You may feel like you are a part of the fairy tale in this island.

Yes, this is not one island, but three - Banwol, Bakji and Purple, united into one art space. The authorities of Sinan County began to actively develop (and repaint everything around) only in 2019.
Literally every corner of it is immediately ready for Instagram. This island is unique - just paint all things in a beautiful shade and you are guaranteed a stream of tourists. Simple and brilliant!

Take a walk around the Sinan Reservoir in Sejong City!
Sinan Reservoir is located between Korea University and Hongik University's Sejong Campus , a short walk up from the back gate of Sejong e-Pyunhansang Apartment. A 400-meter walking path has been
built with a wooden deck, and an octagonal pavilion, benches, and fitness facilities are installed.
It is a waterfront park built by Sejong City at a cost of 1 billion won as part of the youth project. There are a lot of things that students from both universities can enjoy.
In winter, even in sunny days the lake is frozen. I like this Sinan Reservoir as a walking track in any weather.
