Driving in Göppingen | Germany
Göppingen is a town in southern Germany, part of the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg. It is the capital of the district Göppingen. Göppingen is home to the toy company Märklin, and it is the birthplace of football player Jürgen Klinsmann.
Göppingen is situated at the bottom of the Hohenstaufen mountain, in the valley of the river Fils. The districts of Göppingen are Bartenbach, Bezgenriet, Faurndau, Göppingen, Hohenstaufen, Holzheim, Jebenhausen and Maitis.
Tradition holds that the city was founded by an Alemannic leader called Geppo sometime in the 3rd or 4th century. A disastrous fire on August 25, 1782, destroyed most of the town, but it was immediately rebuilt. Industrialization during the 19th century made the area into a center of industry. The importance of such an industry is still seen in the town in the present day in companies such as Märklin and Schuler.

Freisen, Germany Mittelaltermarkt Medieval Fest 2023
WOW!!! All we can really say is that this event keeps on getting BIGGER and BETTER every year! With medieval musicians like UNVERMEYDBAR and ABSOLEM (who sing very comical songs!), the ever popular, and beautiful, tribal belly dancing women of ASHERAH AND THE VELVET SERPENTS, and the spectacular performances of the CIRCLES OF MYSTERY and the very well loved juggler, TIMOLINO, everyone, both young and old, will find find entertainment. Along with walking through the tent city and getting a small view into camping back in medieval times, to the various stalls set up for both food (foodie heaven!) and all sorts of items for sale (Tad´s quiver got suddenly full!) , there was also the possibility to shoot arrows, learn from some of the performers, and even get a chance to hold an OWL on your arm! This was a fantastic event and we can barely wait for this summer to see what comes next!

[4KHDR] Driving in Italy: Autostrada dei Fiori A10 E80 from Genova to Savona
In this video you can drive along on the Autostrada dei Fiori A10 E80 from Genova to Savona. This famous Autostrada on the Ligurian coast is almost 160 kilometers long and connects the port city of Genova to the border with France in the West.
First opened in 1967, this Autostrada must have been one of the most challenging to construct in Italy and probably cost a pretty penny. Navigating through the mountainous coastal area of Liguria, this motorway is almost solely built on bridges and tunnels. It's all toll road and in an effort to keep cost at bay, the amount of exits was kept at a minimum.
Starting from the A7 North of Genova, we drive West on the A10. The first bridge we cross you might notice, it's the recently re-constructed Ponte Morandi which in part collapsed in 2018 leaving 43 people dead. Following a few tunnels, it takes quite a while before we are out of the Genova metropolitan area. Genova is Italy's biggest port and quite a large city. Because of its geography, it's really spread out across various valleys.
Savona is the next larger city when driving West. It's where the A10 meets the A6, connecting the Ligurian coast to Turin and the Alps. I will feature that Autostrada in a future video.

Wie kurbelt man den Tourismus in Corona- oder Post-Corona-Zeiten wieder an? Wie zeigt man Touristen und Einheimischen, dass es in der Frankenwald-Region viele tolle Erlebnisse auf Besucher warten? Wie erreicht man eine Art Initialzündung des Tourismus?
Die Idee: Eine Vielfalt von über 80 Erlebnis-Angeboten in der Frankenwald-Region innerhalb von 24 Stunden, vom 4. September 10 Uhr bis 5. September 10 Uhr, sollten die Menschen ansprechen. Information und Buchung erfolgen dabei zentral über die Webseite des Frankenwald Tourismus.
Das Team von Frankenwald Tourismus mit Geschäftsführer Markus Franz an der Spitze lag mit diesem Ansatz genau richtig. Während Franz & Team anfangs noch von etwa 400 Buchungen ausging, konnten am Ende über 1000 Teilnehmer gezählt werden. Darunter viele Einheimische, die ihre Region (wieder-) erkunden wollten.
Das Programm konnte sich sehen lassen, angefangen bei Sonnenaufgangs-, Morgen-, Tages-, Sonnenuntergangs- und Nachtwanderungen, über Stadtführungen bis hin zu kulinarischen Angeboten wie Bio-Brezel backen beim Bäcker in aller Frühe um 5 Uhr, Brauerei-Touren und Mittelalter-Kost und vieles mehr.
Ich hatte mir den Besuch von sechs Events vorgenommen, musste dann aber leider erkennen, dass ich nicht alle schaffen würde. Denn häufig war die auf der Webseite von den Veranstaltern angegebene Zeit zu kurz bemessen. Leider blieben dabei eine Brauereiführung und die Hanftour auf der Strecke. Mit den verbleibenden vier Stationen war ich voll auf beschäftigt.
