We want to show you Barcelona district by district, so we sent Silvia Bolognini to speak with some of the neighbours. Local people who live in the area offering you information so you can get to know and decide if you want to stay there.
The Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district is a residential area of high standing. It has a family ambience that's perfect if you are looking for an authentic location away from the city centre bustle.
We explain details and curiosities about the neighbourhood, for example, Sarrià has a station that's over 150 years old. The district has many places to visit like Tibidabo, CosmoCaixa, Torre Bellesguard, and Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor.
Getting around the area is pretty easy as there are good transport options across the neighbourhood. Walking through the streets you can enjoy marvellous views like the ones 500m above sea level from the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor.

El distrito de Sarriá-San Gervasi es una zona residencial de alto estanding. Su ambiente familiar es perfecto para los que buscan un lugar auténtico y alejado de los bullicios de la ciudad.
En el vídeo explicamos detalles y curiosidades sobre el barrio. Por ejemplo Sarrià tiene una estación con más de 150 años de historia. El districto tiene muchos lugares de visitar como El Tibidabo, Cosmocaixa, Torre Bellesguard y el Templo del Sagrat Cor.

Major de Sarrià (Catalan: Major de Sarrià, Spanish: Mayor de Sarrià) is the main street in the Sarrià neighborhood in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. Part of the street is pedestrian-only, and that part is filled with shops and restaurants.
Major de Sarrià is intersected by Passeig Reina Elisenda, a busy road, and at that intersection is Plaça Sarrià, the center of Sarrià.
The Reina Elisenda Metro stop is located near Plaça Sarrià, as is the Sarrià Metro and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya train service stop.
The Mercat de Sarrià, a large market, is located on Plaça Sarrià, as is the Església de Sant Vicenç de Sarrià.

The street Balmes has an approximate length of 4 km and crosses the districts of Barcelona in Sarria-San Gervasio , Gracia and Eixample .
This street is dedicated to Jaime Luciano Balmes y Urpiá ( Vich , Osona 1810 - 1848 ) who was a Spanish ecclesiastic , philosopher , politician and writer .
Together with Muntaner street, is the longest road in the east-west direction.
It starts at the corner of the Pelayo-Vergara streets and crosses the entire Ensanche and the Sarriá-San Gervasio district to end at John F. Kennedy square , adjacent to Tibidabo Avenue and the Blue Tram route. (from Wikipedia)

Sarria - Barcelona
Hidden in the back of Barcelona city is Sarria. A gorgeous old Spanish town not too many foreigners know about. It's where the wealthy families who lived in the city last century would come on the weekend to their grand villas.
