Fish Farm Cherkezi Dzor Restaurant
Created in 1999 and employing the most up-to-date technology available, the Fish Farm Cherkezi Dzor specializes in the raising of four types of trout and one type of Siberian sturgeon. The company’s headquarters is in Yerevan, which operates four farms in Armenia including this in Gyumri, where the water is of exceptional purity, cold (11 0C) naturally oxygen-rich, and alkaline rendering a quality superior to any other farmed fish anywhere.
Cold-water fish grows at a slower pace but yields better taste and texture.
At present Fish Farm produces:
Brook trout
Golden trout
Rainbow trout
Sevanian trout
Siberian sturgeon
Originally they used to sell their fish to people at the farm gate. Over time, customers encouraged them to cook the fish, and even brought their own assorted foodstuffs to accompany their meals.
The next step was to provide tables and chairs. Today Fish Farm Cherkezi Dzor is a full-service fish restaurant serving a variety of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts to embellish their specialty trouts and sturgeon.
The Red Fortress and the valley, where their fish farm is located are historically important.
Enjoy a walk around their pools, select the fish, and your table, then leave the rest to them.
(Tonir) is a typical Armenian clay oven used as an important family cooking device, mostly for lavash and roasting by hanging meat, fish, or chicken in it. The intense heat created at the bottom of our 1.60-meter deep (Tonir) renders the meat succulent and of an incomparable taste.

Sardarapat Memorial is a memorial complex to the Battle of Sardarabad located in the village of Araks, in the Armavir Province of Armenia, 11 kilometers southwest of Armavir town.

Sardarapat Memorial is a symbol of pride and survival, the Sardarapat Memorial marks the place of Armenia's successful last-ditch effort to save the nation from obliteration at the hands of the Turks in the Battle of Sardarapat on May 22–26, 1918. Against tremendous odds, and during the haunting backdrop of genocide during the previous few years, Armenia's makeshift army rebuffed the Turkish troops and safeguarded the small portion of historic Armenia, what became the current republic as it stands today. On the grounds of the historic battle one can today visit the Sardarapat Ethnography and Liberation Movement History Museum adjacent to the outdoor monument.

Yerevan | The Vartanyan Brothers Park | HD

YEREVAN | THE VARTANYAN BROTHERS PARK

Yerevan inaugurates stunning new park in downtown, as the Armenian capital city is expanding its green spaces. The brand new park with a drip irrigation system, water fountains, and a mosaic map of Yerevan costs 5,300,000 USD to build.

A park, which connects City Hall with Republic Square, was a gift to the municipality from the Vartanyan brothers, the Montréal-based family behind some of Armenia’s largest conglomerates including Grand Candy and Grand Tobacco.

The philanthropists had only one pre-condition for giving the gift: the park remains the property of Yerevan and any kind of business activity is banned from taking place in the area. The Vartanian Family Charitable Foundation will also cover all maintenance expenses of the park for 99 years, starting from 2019.

The landscape architecture features a lozenge-shaped motif meant to invoke traditional Armenian carpet patterns and complement the nearby Republic Square which resembles a similar pattern. The new park is well received by our residents and visitors, who flocked in droves since the opening. Many play in its colorful fountains or posed for photographs with monuments meant to invoke the city’s ancient Urartian architectural motifs, such as a lion and a bull.

Mikoyan Brothers Museum & Sanahin Monastery in #Armenia | Patil Toutounjian | The Armenian Traveler

This is part 2 of a 3 part video. Check out part one here

I am very excited to announce that I am teaming up with Visit Debed Canyon project to bring you with me to explore the beautiful region in Lori province. Make sure you subscribe to their channels and stay tuned as I will be making a series of videos there as well :)

One of Armenia's most impressive natural landscapes, the Debed Canyon stretches from the city of Vanadzor, the administrative center of Lori province, along the River Debed and all the way up north to the Armenian-Georgian border. The Debed river that flows through the canyon, the winding road running along it, the surrounding mountains and the breathtaking views that open up from their slopes make Debed canyon a popular destination worth visiting in all seasons.

Sanahin Monastery:
Described as an outstanding example of Armenian medieval religious architecture, the 10th-century monastic complex of Sanahin is located in the village of the same name just above the city of Alaverdi. It is believed that the site was a center of worship from as early as the 4th century. But the oldest church of the monastery, the Church of Virgin Mary, was built in the first half of the 10th century, during the reign of King Abas I Bagratuni.

According to the legend, the name of the monastery of Sanahin is a result of a quarrel that arose between the master architect and his son during the construction of the complex. It is said that a prince from Sanahin hired a renowned architect to build a monastery. The architect began the construction together with his son, but as they carried on with their work, a conflict arose between them. The son abandoned his father and left Sanahin.

On the way, he crossed paths with another prince who hired him to build a church. And so the old master's son started his work. As the walls of the church were growing taller, they soon became visible from Sanahin. His father, noticing the construction, decided to visit the site. Upon seeing his son, the old master asked, What are you building? The wall of victory, the son answered. His father then pointed at the church he was building and said, Remember that that one is older than this. This phrase in Armenian is Sa nranic hin eh. Thus, the monastery became known as Sanahin.

Mikoyan Brothers Museum:
Լocated in the village of Sanahin, not far from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sanahin monastery, the Mikoyan Brothers museum is dedicated to two famous Soviet Armenians – Anastas Mikoyan, a communist revolutionary and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, and his brother Artem Mikoyan, a renowned aircraft designer who designed the MiG aircraft together with Mikhail Gurevich.

The museum opened in 1982. One of the MiG-21 aircrafts designed by Artem Mikoyan and Anastas Mikoyan's GAZ-12 ZIM limousine were brought from Moscow for the museum's opening ceremony. The museum houses various objects related to the lives and careers of the Mikoyan Brothers, such as clothing, equipment, posters, and even food. In the library of the museum, visitors can get acquainted with multilingual literature dedicated to Mikoyan Brothers and other related documents.
