Welcome to Colombia
Termales Santa Rosa de Cabal is located in the department of Risaralda It is a public hot springs destination and very well know in the coffee triangle. It is situated 1,715 meters (5,600 Feet) above sea level. Its proximity to the Nevada de Santa Isabel allows Santa Rosa de Cabal to be the entrance of the Parque Nacional Los Nevados. Santa Rosa de Cabal was declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 2011. The beauty of its landscapes and the proximity to the coffee culture have made Santa Rosa de Cabal a tourist attraction, allowing its visitors to enjoy the thermal waters, the Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados, the Parque Regional Natural Serranía del Alto Muro, among others. The access roads are both terrestrial and aerial if you arrive at the airport of Pereira. A magical destination to enjoy coffee culture and the Araucarias Festival.

We spent 3 days in Santa Rosa de Cabal and one epic day at the Santa Rosa Hot Springs. We had so much fun in the mineral pools and exploring the waterfall. We had our faces painted with mud by the spa ladies. For the kids, this was one of the best stops on the trip! The Hot Springs and Waterfall in Santa Rosa were very impressive. If you think of hot springs in Colombia, you will probably recognize one of the most famous, Termales de Santa Rosa de Cabal, but Colombia is a paradise of hot springs due to its geographical conditions.
Thanks to the number of volcanoes, there are many hot medicinal waters in Colombia that you can enjoy in different regions of the country. For example, the Coffee Triangle is the main hot springs area in Colombia, and probably has the best hot springs in Colombia.
In the Coffee Triangle there are the best thermal spas in Colombia, such as the Hotel Termales del Otoño, 30 minutes' drive from Manizales, Termales La Quinta, with an incredible offer in the middle of nature, or the Hotel Termales del Ruiz at 3,500 meters above sea level.

Discovering Colombia’s Most Beautiful Hot Springs
Nestled in the heart of Colombia’s coffee region, just south of Medellin is where you’ll find one of Colombia’s most beautiful hot springs. Walk around the gardens, take in the surrounding jungle, dip in one of the four pools and cool off under the magnificent Santa Helena waterfall.
How to get there
Public buses run daily from 6am to 6pm, approximately every 2 hours, to the Termales de Santa Rosa.
The stops are not signed, so you kind of just have to wait by the side of the road and keep an eye out for one of those red, yellow and green buses to come by with a sign at the front that says ‘Termales’.
Alternatively, there are also Jeeps that run along the exact same route, at about the same times and cost a little more (5000 COP). Expect a slightly more adventurous experience with locals hanging off the back when the Jeep runs out of seats!
The best place to wait for transport, be it buses or Jeeps, is at the Parque de Las Araucarias (Calle 13 side). Transport times can be a little unpredictable so arrive 10 mins early and allow extra time for delays.
Cost
On weekdays there’s to no need reserve online ahead of time or session limits. The cost per person is about 68,000 COP (for an off-peak, weekday entry, as at Jan 2024), which gets you access to the four pools, waterfall, surrounding gardens and change rooms.
On weekends, it is much busier and you may be required to book specific bathing sessions. There are 3 sessions 6:30-10:30am, 11:30am-5:00pm, 6:30-11pm.
What to bring
Flip flops, your own towel (none provided) and some cash to exchange into 1,000 peso coins if you wish to use the coin operated lockers. Note for the coin operated lockers you’ll need a new coin every time you wish to re-lock it after opening. Alternatively, you can also bring your own lock to use some of the limited self lock lockers.
