In-depth guide of La Palma, one of the most beautiful Islands in Europe, La Palma in the Canary Islands is the must visit island for those who love the outdoors. From hiking, to Scuba diving, mountain biking, sailing, fishing, star gazing and more, La Palma is the Island to visit when visiting the Canary Islands.
La Palma is the greenest Island of the Canary Islands. This means that the island is full micro climates - volcanic craters - beautiful beaches - jungles - forests - cliff - valleys - peaks and stargazing locations. The diversity in trails is staggering.
The Island is away from the crowds of tourists, so it's a perfect island for those who want to go somewhere less touristy with a wilder adventure side.
Hiking is by far the most popular activity on the Island. With the Cumbre Vieja to the south and the Caldera de Taburiente to the north, there are no shortage of diverse outdoor spaces to explore.
Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the jagged cliffs make for some epic view points, but that doesn't always make swimming possible. The beaches of Tazacorte, Los Tilos and Santa Cruz de La Palma are perfect black sand beaches where you can spend the day swimming. There is also the rock pools of La Fajana where you can visit the most epic rock pools 100% for free on the north tip of the Island.

Santa Cruz De La Palma (4K)
Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital city of the island of La Palma, Canary Islands. It's a bustling port town that receives multiple cruise ship visitors each week to explore its picturesque ancient streets. A beautiful black sand beach runs parallel to the city and is perfect for a year-round swim.
There are countless boutique shops set in wonderful ancient buildings. While walking down the cobbled streets of the old town you will find yourself pleasantly surprised time and again by the numerous plazas, quaint churches, and historic architecture. In the center of the city, there is a covered market hall with stalls of local produce, such as vegetables, local wines, cheeses, and honey.
There are many museums to visit throughout the city, such as the naval museum which is well worth a visit, as it is set inside a replica of one of Columbus's caravels.

Exploring Santa Cruz, La Palma, Spain
Santa Cruz de la Palma is a city and a municipality in the eastern part of the island of La Palma in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of the Canary Islands. It is situated on the east coast. Santa Cruz de la Palma is the second largest city and is the capital of the island. It is located along an old lava flow coming out from the Caldereta, a volcano located just south of the city.
The population of the municipality is 16,330 (2013), its area is 43.38 km².[Around 13,000 people live within the city limits, with the remaining population residing in other settlements on the island.

The city centre is breathtakingly picturesque, while the beach and kilometre-long promenade have considerably boosted the city's summer-in-the-sun appeal. Wandering the historic streets around and uphill above Plaza España, either during the day or at night (when they are even more sublime), is a joy. With its location midway down the east coast, bus connections across La Palma and proximity to the airport, the city makes for a very good-looking base for getting pretty much everywhere.
