Santa Brigida is a municipality of the island of Gran Canaria located in the northeast. It stands out for its location and countryside around its main town Santa Brigida.
One of the nice places to see especially for history enthusiast is Cueva Los Frailes. It is a compound of 37 caves were the aboriginal people used to live prior to the Spanish conquest discovered in 1933.
Other places to see are Cueva Los Caminos which used to be a grain shop back in the day. At the rapine Barranco Alonso is located one of the oldest Dragon Trees of Gran Canaria with 500 years old.
A curious thing about the tree is that it hans at the edge of a mountain and it seems that it could fall down, but it doesn't look that it will anytime soon.
Monte Lentiscal in Santa Brígida is also a nice place to enjoy nature in its purest state, and you can also see a great amount of tree species.
The latest active volcano of Gran Canaria is called Caldera de Bandama, and right in front of it there is the Bandama Golf Club. Bandama is up in the mountain and the Caldera is a famous place to visit for its impressive looks.
A must place to go are their weekend markets for the variety of locally grown food you can buy and the restaurants around to go have lunch after the market.
Santa Brígida lays in a unique natural setting and it is a great place to visit on Gran Canaria.

The Bandama Natural Monument is part of the Tafira Protected Landscape on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, Spain. It's considered a point of geological interest, because of the Caldera de Bandama. This volcanic crater, which is geologically a maar rather than a caldera,reaches 569 m (1,867 ft) above sea level at the highest point on its rim, Pico de Bandama, and is about 1,000 m (3,300 ft) wide and 200 m (700 ft) deep. The crater was developed during the last heavy eruptions 2000 years ago. It is recorded as the most recent volcanic activity on Gran Canaria.
The bottom of the caldera contains volcanic ash of different colors, and some botanic species of Canary Islands origin. An endemic bush can be found inside the caldera that doesn't grow anywhere else; Dama de Bandama (parolinia grabiuscula).
The Caldera de Bandama is located at the meeting point of three municipalities: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Brígida and Telde.
Destilerías Arehucas. Arucashad already planted sugar cane before it had arrived at Cuba, the first country we think of when we talk about this sweet plant. When it underwent great urbanistic and industrial development in the 19th century, it implanted one of the most modern factories to carry out the crushing and treatment of the plant. With it came the most famous rum in the Canaries, as the Sugar Factory of San Pedro became a distillery, while just over a century later it had become part of the island’s being: the iconography that represented daily life and popular fiestas always carried images of one its bottles, with phrases that forever contain the expression of “ron de Arucas”, or Arucas rum.
Arucas is a municipality in the northern part of the island of Gran Canaria, province of Las Palmas, Canary Islands. Arucas is 9 km (5.6 mi) west of Las Palmas city. Its population is 36,852 (2013),[and the area is 33.01 km2 (12.75 sq mi).[1] The GC-2 motorway passes north of the town.
The Church of San Juan Bautista is the leading architectural and social monument in the municipality. It was built entirely in Arucas stone by local master masons, and it dates from 1909. Apart from the wealth of the carved stone columns and column heads, there are also some beautiful stained glass windows, the works of Canary Island painter Cristobal Hernandez de Quintana, and an extraordinary carving of the Reclining Christ, by Manuel Ramos. To the north is the Montaña de Arucas which is thought to be the area where courageous Doramas the Guanche leader was killed in 1481 by Pedro de Vera in the Battle of Arucas. Arucas is known for the production of rum.
Arucas was rebuilt in 1480 after being completely destroyed in 1478. Since the 15th century, the main crop of the Arucas area was sugar cane. Rum was produced here long before sugar plantations were cultivated in Cuba. One of the main features of modern-day Arucas is its rum factory. Arucas boomed with the demand for cochineal (a beetle feeding off cactus pear, crushed to produce red dye) in the second half of the 19th century.

. LAS PALMAS VLOG - This is a few clips from my time in Las Palmas in the Canary islands, Spain. There are actually a few clips form the centre which is of course not Las Palmas, but they fitted well with the rest of the video. Most of the clips are from Las Palmas and the area directly around it.
This video is more of just the best bits, and the best things to do in Las Palmas to be honest. It's fairly cinematic, but be nice to me in the comments section.
I went to Las Palmas De Gran Canaria this year (2019) and it was amazing! It’s a very nice place for Digital Nomads, and there were lots of things to do in Las Palmas. We mainly enjoyed the beaches, went hiking and walked round the streets. This video is a sort of mix up between a vlog and a street walking video. I try and show what it’s REALLY like in the places I travel to.
Also, this might give you some motivation to become a digital nomad. I’m a full time nomad and I love traveling to places like this and other places. I particular like Spain because of the beaches and how safe and cheap it is, but there are other places too. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Let's visit Teror which is a town and a municipality in the northern part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. The population of the town of Teror is 12,671 (2013), and the area is 25.70 km². Teror is situated in the mountains, 14 km southwest of Las Palmas city. September 8 is the local festivity celebrating Virgen del Pino (virgin of the pine, patron of the Gran Canaria).
Teror has a well preserved old town centre, which is under monument protection. There is a basilica, the quiet Virgin of the Pine Square in front of it, and neatly fronted buildings along the picturesque Calle Real de la Plaza street. After shepherds witnessed a Marian apparition nearby on 8 September 1481, Teror became the most important pilgrimage destination of the Canary Islands, and, as a result, rather prosperous. White houses with wooden balconies are typical of the town.
