Carrer de Pujades and Passeig de Pujades, before 1900 rendered Pujadas, are respectively a street and a promenade in the Poblenou and Sant Martí de Provençals areas of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It's named after the poet and historian Jeroni Pujades, who penned a Universal Chronicle of the Principality of Catalonia in the 16th century. In Ildefons Cerdà's urban plan the street was to be named U street. It starts by Passeig de Picasso and Passeig de Lluís Companys, and runs to the north-east of Poblenou, at Carrer de la Selva de Mar, near Avinguda Diagonal. It borders one of Barcelona's biggest parks, Parc de la Ciutadella and crosses the city's new development district, 22@. Some 19th-century and early-20th-century industrial architecture is still to be found in the area, along with late-20th-century developments, despite their being replaced by newer structures and office buildings.

Rogent street is parallel to Independència, the last street in Eixample in this part of the city. But it is neither the width nor the straightness of a street in the Eixample: it is a narrow street that, with a small curve, leads from Freser street to Meridiana. Perhaps the great luck of Rogent Street is not having been wider. The tram passed a long time on Rogent Street, but in 1990 it became a pedestrian street and trees were planted: now they are high enough and make this road an especially pleasant area to walk in summer.
Rogent street is not the Passeig de Gràcia: there are no big brand boutiques , no fast food restaurant franchises. And, despite everything, it has a very solid commercial fabric: it offers quality services to its neighbors. There is a wide variety of establishments: from the inevitable industrial bakeries and the most popular frozen food chains, to more original stores, food, toys ... A type of business designed primarily for residents and reflecting the vitality of this neighborhood . And the first ones that give life to the neighborhood are the bars and restaurants. Most of them are not luxurious establishments, but they try to give a careful service to the clients.
Without a doubt, the Juan Manuel Zafra Institute, the old Municipal School of Arts and Crafts of Sant Martí de Provençals, is the most important building on Rogent Street. It was built in 1909 as a homeless shelter, but later became an educational center. Its facade is typically modernist: it combines the use of brick with wrought iron elements (as in lamps) and numerous colored ceramics ( trencadís is even used in various elements of the facade). It was the work of Antoni Falguera , the architect of the Municipal Conservatory of Music. Pere Falqués , the municipal architect at the time (he was the designer of the streetlight benches on Passeig de Gràcia) also participated in its design.

El Clot Park (Parc del Clot in Catalan) is a public park in Barcelona located in the El Clot neighborhood , in the Sant Martí district . It is located in the location of an old RENFE workshop , some of whose walls were used as ornamental elements. The park project was carried out in 1986 by Daniel Freixes i Melero and Vicente Miranda .
The park has an area of 4.03 hectares . In its central part is a long corridor formed by large white metal frames, which is the backbone of the route through the park. From here various areas are distributed, such as a sports center, a children's play area, petanque courts and a lake, in addition to the park's green spaces. One of the most spectacular elements is the lake, a water supply for a 25 m long aqueduct formed by arcades that formed the facade of the old RENFE workshop, and whose waters cascade. Nearby is a kind of loggia also made up of walls of the old building, with a series of arches ofmasonry with metal columns; Inside is the sculpture Rites of Spring , by the American sculptor Bryan Hunt (1986), a 4-meter-high bronze piece representing a waterfall.

Barcelona is a major economic center that has moreover one of the main ports of Mediterranean and the second airport spanish behind that of Madrid-Barajas. It is also the city that has the largest metropolitan park in the world, the park Collserola, to Central Park in New York. Having been founded by the Romans, the city became the capital of the Counts of Barcelona and one of the major cities of the Crown of Aragon, and after, the capital of the Principality of Catalonia.
Barcelona is the second city in Spain by population. The city is home to around 615 908 inhabitants 1. The agglomeration has 5,327,872 inhabitants. In 1787 takes place the first census including connecting Vallbona in Barcelona. In 1860, La Barceloneta is attached to the town. In 1897, Les Corts, Gracia, Sant Andreu de Palomar, Sant Gervasi Cassoles, Sant Martí de Provençals and Sants i Vallvidrera are attached in Barcelona. In 1904 it was the turn Horta and, finally, in 1930, Sarria, part of which had already come to Santa Creu of Olorda in 1920. A new station AVE is under construction: Barcelona Sagrera, TGV terminal. The city is crossed from east to west by two railway line tunnels that converge to the Sants station in the West. Around 2012 a third tunnel reserved for TGV and linking Sants and Sagrera stations will open its doors in the extension of the LGV to France.
Barcelona is above all a maritime city, geographically and historically facing the Mediterranean Sea, as evidenced by the presence of many ports. From an industrial point of view, the most important ports adjacent to the free zone of Barcelona, south of Montjuic, Barcelona bordering (a continuation of Port Vell) and Hospitalet de Llobregat.
The airport of Barcelona and the Barcelona Autonomous Port are located south of the city. They adjoin the free zone which lies concentrated much of heavy industry. The area is served by the Metro Line 9 of Barcelona. The airport is connected by a line of independent suburban train and many bus connections.
Las Ramblas is the emblematic avenue and place of Barcelona promenade connecting the Plaça de Catalunya, the nerve center of the city, the old port where stands the column of Christopher Columbus. At the heart of the Old Town, the Gothic Quarter is the oldest district of Barcelona. It gathers the remains of Roman Barcelona such as walls or columns of the Temple of Augustus as well as many buildings from medieval times.

The district of San Martin (in Catalan and officially districte Sant Martí ) is the tenth of ten districts in which is divided administratively the city of Barcelona . It is located on the northeast limit of the city, and borders the municipality of San Adrián del Besós , and the districts of Ciutat Vella , Ensanche , Horta-Guinardó and Sant Andreu . It comprises most of the territory that gives it its name, the old municipality of San Martín de Provençals .
It is the second most populated district, with 221,029 inhabitants ( 2005 ), fourth in extension (10.8 km² ) -although second in urbanized extension- and sixth in density (20,466 inhabitants / km²).
The territory sits on the plain of Barcelona on its coastline. The average height is around 15 m, exceeding 20 m in the northernmost area. Formerly ran along the riverbeds and area streams (Riera of the Notari, torrent of Milans, Torrente of the Bogatell, Torrent of the Guineu, Riera de Horta ...) who came from the waters of Collserola and, today, give name streets and other place names in the areas that covered them.

The Parque del Centro del Poblenou (in Catalan , Parc del Center del Poblenou ) is located in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona , in the Provençals del Poblenou neighborhood , which gives it its name. It is located in the so-called District 22 @ , an area dedicated to the new economic and technological sectors aimed at development and innovation. It was created in 2008 with a project by the French architect Jean Nouvel , also the author of the Torre Agbar skyscraper in Plaça de las Glorias Catalanas , very close to this park.
The park has a triangular shape, in the space formed by Avenida Diagonal and the streets of Bac de Roda and Marroc, within which it is divided into three areas formed by the intersection of the streets of Bilbao and Espronceda -transversely- and that of Cristóbal de Moura - longitudinally. The park area is completely fenced in by high concrete walls covered with climbing plants , which isolate it from the surrounding noise, since Diagonal Avenue has a high traffic density. These walls regularly feature circular-shaped windows decorated with silhouettes of birds, and the access doors to the park are made of openwork grills in the shape of birds. It should be noted that the entrance arch of these doors is inspired by the one he designedAntoni Gaudí for access to the Finca Miralles , in Sarrià. Inside the park is divided into various thematic spaces, created to evoke different sensations, where design and an avant-garde concept of green space management predominate. Urban furniture stands out for the use of silver-colored metallic materials, generally with a pattern of circular holes drilled in the metal, both in chairs and benches, as well as lamps and other elements of the park. As for vegetation, a thousand trees, five thousand bushes and ten thousand climbing plants were planted, with the intention of providing abundant shade. At the time of its inauguration, Barcelona was going through a serious drought, so the irrigation system had to be conditioned, initially connected to the drinking water network. and drip irrigation pipes were installed connected to groundwater devices. Sagrada Família cathedral Barcelona (Gaudí's Cathedral)
The Basílica de la Sagrada Família (Catalan; Spanish: Basílica de la Sagrada Familia; 'Basilica of the Holy Family'), also known as the Sagrada Família, is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia. Designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), his work on the Sagrada Família is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On 7 November 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the Sagrada Família and proclaimed it a minor basilica.
On 19 March 1882, construction of the Sagrada Família began under architect Francisco de Paula del Villar. In 1883, when Villar resigned, Gaudí took over as chief architect, transforming the project with his architectural and engineering style, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. Gaudí devoted the remainder of his life to the project, and he is buried in the crypt. At the time of his death in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete.
Relying solely on private donations, the Sagrada Família's construction progressed slowly and was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War. In July 1936, revolutionaries set fire to the crypt and broke their way into the workshop, partially destroying Gaudí's original plans, drawings and plaster models, which led to 16 years of work to piece together the fragments of the master model. Construction resumed to intermittent progress in the 1950s. Advancements in technologies such as computer aided design and computerised numerical control (CNC) have since enabled faster progress and construction passed the midpoint in 2010. However, some of the project's greatest challenges remain, including the construction of ten more spires, each symbolising an important Biblical figure in the New Testament. It is anticipated that the building can be completed by 2026, the centenary of Gaudí's death.
The Sagrada Família has a long history of splitting opinion among the residents of Barcelona: over the initial possibility it might compete with Barcelona's cathedral, over Gaudí's design itself, over the possibility that work after Gaudí's death disregarded his design, and the 2007 proposal to build a tunnel of Spain's high-speed rail link to France which could disturb its stability. Describing the Sagrada Família, art critic Rainer Zerbst said it is probably impossible to find a church building anything like it in the entire history of art, and Paul Goldberger describes it as the most extraordinary personal interpretation of Gothic architecture since the Middle Ages. The Sagrada Família is not the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Barcelona, as that title belongs to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia.
The Basílica de la Sagrada Família was the inspiration of a bookseller, Josep Maria Bocabella, founder of Asociación Espiritual de Devotos de San José (Spiritual Association of Devotees of St. Joseph).
After a visit to the Vatican in 1872, Bocabella returned from Italy with the intention of building a church inspired by the basilica at Loreto. The apse crypt of the church, funded by donations, was begun 19 March 1882, on the festival of St. Joseph, to the design of the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, whose plan was for a Gothic revival church of a standard form. The apse crypt was completed before Villar's resignation on 18 March 1883, when Antoni Gaudí assumed responsibility for its design, which he changed radically. Gaudi began work on the church in 1883 but was not appointed Architect Director until 1884.
On the subject of the extremely long construction period, Gaudí is said to have remarked: My client is not in a hurry. When Gaudí died in 1926, the Sagrada Família was between 15 and 25 percent complete. After Gaudí's death, work continued under the direction of Domènec Sugrañes i Gras until interrupted by the Spanish Civil War in 1936.
Parts of the unfinished Sagrada Família and Gaudí's models and workshop were destroyed during the war by Catalan anarchists. The present design is based on reconstructed versions of the plans that were burned in a fire as well as on modern adaptations. Since 1940, the architects Francesc Quintana, Isidre Puig Boada, Lluís Bonet i Gari and Francesc Cardoner have carried on the work. The illumination was designed by Carles Buïgas. The current director and son of Lluís Bonet, Jordi Bonet i Armengol, has been introducing computers into the design and construction process since the 1980s. Mark Burry of New Zealand serves as Executive Architect and Researcher. Sculptures by J. Busquets, Etsuro Sotoo.
