Video on Shangla District | Tourism in KP l Pakistan Tourism

The video-documentary on Shangla district is another addition in the series of documentaries being filmed on various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Lying at a distance of 282 kilometres from the capital city of Islamabad, Shangla has a number of scenic spots for the tourists and visitors.
It is one of the beautiful districts in Malakand division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The district headquarters are located at Alpuri city.
The district consists of small valleys, and is situated between the hillocks and surrounded by high mountains full of thick forests comprising Pindrow Fir, Morinda Spruce, Blue Pine (Kail), Chir Pine and Deodar Cedar trees.
Going to Shangla is itself a joyful journey from anywhere in Pakistan and abroad as well. A tourist has to enjoy travelling on the zigzag roads leading to the serene district. Asmani Morr (Sky Turn) presents a beautiful view to the visitors and travellers alike.
As replete with beautiful grandeurs and tourist attractions, the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) has installed camping pods at Yakhtangi - the most scenic spot of Shangla district - to facilitate tourists and visitors.
Puran is another spot for the tourists and visitors to enjoy stay there.
Thick forests of tall trees, waterfalls and streams of clean water would welcome you to the valley locked by hills. Shangla waterfall is also a mesmerising sight in the video.
The videographer then goes to the Alpuri located on the banks of a stream flowing between the two lush green hills.
Houses structures dotted on the hills also present a panoramic view to the tourists.
Then comes Ajmeer, a comparatively less green, but equally beautiful spot in the district. The documentary concludes on Besham city.
Shangla was previously a subdivision of Swat district, but was upgraded to the status of a district on July 10, 1995. It comprises three tehsils, Alpuri, Puran and Besham.
The district is bounded in the north by Kohistan district, in the east by Battagram district and Torghar district, in the west by Swat district and in the south by Buner district.
There are relics of the ancient Greek period at Pirsar, Chakesar and Daut. It is believed that Alexander the Great camped at Pirsar for a few days. There are also relics of the Hindu Shahi in Olandar-Ajmair

Sangla Hill to Chak Jhumra Road Trip | 4K | سانگلہ ہل سے چک جھمرہ
Chak Jhumra, is a town, railway junction, and tehsil in Punjab, Pakistan. The town is situated about 21 kilometres Northeast of Faisalabad on Faisalabad-Sangla Hill Road. The Khanewal–Wazirabad Branch and Sangla Hill–Kundian Branch intersect in the town and connect it to Faisalabad and Sargodha respectively
Prior to the establishment of Pakistan, the town was known as a hub of the cotton trade. At the time, three cotton grinding factories operated within the town. Following the Partition of India, the town's Hindu population, of which the majority of traders were a part of, immigrated to India, causing business to decline significantly.

Beginning in the 1960s, the town began to again experience economic growth and development of infrastructure. At this time a number of schools, hospitals, and textile factories were constructed within the town.

Today, textile manufacturing is the dominant industry within Chak Jhumra.

History Shangla, Sngla & Sangla were the names of Sangla Hill in different periods of time…. It is famous due to its Unique name, it is reported in the books of history that Sangla was the sub caste of (Rajpoots) and due to these Sangla Rajpoots it was named Sangla, there is a hill in north-west of city (215 feet high, with Dark Brown Stone color) due to that hill its Modern Name Sangla hill was derived, Like other Rajpoots Sangla (Rajpoots) were also worriers, so when Alexander The great Attacked Sangla Hill they defend and fight with them, Alexander had to stay there on hill and at last the peace agreement was signed… * (but in some books of History it is also coded that Alexander won the war after many Months and Destroyed the city {Rule of the Company, By: Mr. Bare Eunice}) There is a well built by Greeks near Hill, Shows That The Greeks stayed there more than 6 months.. The Modern Sangla Hill was established in 1896 it was irrigated with canal of Rakh-Branch (RB) the canal was dug in 1892 during colonial rule. The Rakh Branch originates from canal Lower Chenab. And Lower Chenab comes out from Head Khanki at the river Chenab. It passes and produces tributaries in three districts such as Hafizabad, Nankana Sahib and Faisalabad. Many famous towns are situated at near the Rakh Branch such as Safdarabad,Sangla Hill, Salarwala, Chak Jhumra, Gutwala, Abdullahpur and Faisalabad. The canal ends at Samundri. At that time (1896) the Sangla was administrated by Deputy Commissioner GugraWala, and city population contained 1689 persons and Sangla was rewarded with Chack Number 298, in 1900 it was considered as Small Town, it was established with modern sewerage system.. There were two pools for bath also…. At the time of independence in 1947 Sangla was a big market of Food & animals, and every month there was a big exhibition of Animals, the Trade of Animals boosted the Economy of Sangla Hill, but due to lack of interest of Govt. and establishment of Lahore to Faisalabad Rode via Shahkoat that market was shifted to Faisalabad and Lahore… The Economy became flop, but in 1971 Fauji foundation Sugar Mills was Established which started providing Employment to the Citizens of Sangla hill, now this Mill is named Huda Sugar Mill (pvt limited). In 2005 Sangla hill was ranked to Tehsil head quarter and sub. Divisional. Courts were established here in 2007... Now Sangla hill is well developed city of region... with the population of 2,00,000.

Travel is the movement of people between distant geographical locations. Travel can be done by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, ship or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip.[1] Travel can also include relatively short stays between successive movements, as in the case of tourism.

Etymology
The origin of the word travel is most likely lost to history. The term travel may originate from the Old French word travail, which means 'work'.[2] According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word travel was in the 14th century. It also states that the word comes from Middle English travailen, travelen (which means to torment, labor, strive, journey) and earlier from Old French travailler (which means to work strenuously, toil).

In English, people still occasionally use the words travail, which means struggle. According to Simon Winchester in his book The Best Travelers' Tales (2004), the words travel and travail both share an even more ancient root: a Roman instrument of torture called the tripalium (in Latin it means three stakes, as in to impale). This link may reflect the extreme difficulty of travel in ancient times. Travel in modern times may or may not be much easier depending upon the destination. Travel to Mount Everest, the Amazon rainforest, extreme tourism, and adventure travel are more difficult forms of travel. Travel can also be more difficult depending on the method of travel, such as by bus, cruise ship, or even by bullock cart.

Reasons for traveling include recreation, holidays, rejuvenation, tourism or vacationing, research travel, the gathering of information, visiting people, volunteer travel for charity, migration to begin life somewhere else, religious pilgrimages and mission trips, business travel, trade, commuting, and other reasons, such as to obtain health care or waging or fleeing war or for the enjoyment of traveling. Travelers may use human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling; or vehicles, such as public transport, automobiles, trains, ferries, boats, cruise ships and airplanes.

Motives for travel include:

Pleasure
Relaxation
Discovery and exploration
Adventure
Intercultural communications
Taking personal time for building interpersonal relationships.
Avoiding stress
Forming memories

History
Travel dates back to antiquity where wealthy Greeks and Romans would travel for leisure to their summer homes and villas in cities such as Pompeii and Baiae.[8] While early travel tended to be slower, more dangerous, and more dominated by trade and migration, cultural and technological advances over many years have tended to mean that travel has become easier and more accessible.[9] Mankind has come a long way in transportation since Christopher Columbus sailed to the new world from Spain in 1492, an expedition which took over 10 weeks to arrive at the final destination; to the 21st century where aircraft allow travel from Spain to the United States overnight.

Travel in the Middle Ages offered hardships and challenges, however, it was important to the economy and to society. The wholesale sector depended (for example) on merchants dealing with/through caravans or sea-voyagers, end-user retailing often demanded the services of many itinerant peddlers wandering from village to hamlet, gyrovagues (Wandering Monks) and wandering friars brought theology and pastoral support to neglected areas, traveling minstrels practiced the never-ending tour, and armies ranged far and wide in various crusades and in sundry other wars.[8] Pilgrimages were common in both the European and Islamic world and involved streams of travelers both locally (Canterbury Tales-style) and internationally.[10]
