The Isle of Wight is a cocktail of all the best things one would love to see and do in an ideal location. Though it's only a small island, it is a popular vacation destination with hundreds of tourist attractions within its borders. It has some of the best dining establishments and accommodations in the world. The destination boasts awesome amusement parks, beautiful gardens and natural wonders, just to mention a few. One of the best things to do on the island is to visit Quarr Abbey. Its afternoon tea is worth a sip.

Aside from that, the destination is surrounded by lush vegetation, making it great for strolls and relaxation. Another of the best things to do is visit Robin Hill Country Park. It has an adventure playground, an awesome theme park, and a country-calm vibe. The 90 acres of the park offer a wide range of activities for the entire family. There is always something going on at the park, so there's never a dull moment. In the spring, there are Easter Egg hunts, Eklectica music festival in the summer, and Electric Lights that see the woods lit up with lanterns during the fall.

While the Isle of Wight is endowed with popular vacation destinations, it is also a symbol of historic importance. A place like Carisbrooke Castle is rich in English history. There is more than enough to do and watch at the castle to have a wonderful time. You can take a stroll along the castle's battlements or explore the Carisbrooke Castle Museum in the Great Hall. Be sure to experience the warm climate and beautiful coastline of the region for yourself.

A Walk Down Esher High Street to Sandown Racecourse, Surrey, UK

Another video in the High Street series this one is a viewer request. We're in Esher, Surrey having a walk along the lovely little High Street to have a look at the shops and statues along the way. After that we'll continue a little off the end of the High Street to find Sandown Park Racecourse where we'll finish the video for today. I'll plan a walk around Sandown Park Racecourse another day but it's not as open as Epsom Down Racecourse so I need to look into that more before giving it a go.

Filmed 9th July 2023, afternoon.

Johannesburg 4K - Africa's Richest Square Mile - Sandton Morning Drive

Ultra-modern high-rises, millionaire mansions, sports cars, and luxury brands. Sunday morning drive around Sandton, Rosebank, and the wealthy surrounding neighborhoods. Known as being the wealthiest neighborhood on the entire continent of Africa, about 10 minutes north of the historic city center of Johannesburg South Africa. It was kind of quiet on this Sunday morning but its still very impressive!

Starting Point: .
Johannesburg, informally known as Jozi, Joburg, or The City of Gold, is the largest city in South Africa, classified as a megacity, and is one of the 100 largest urban areas in the world. According to Demographia, the Johannesburg-Pretoria urban area (combined because of strong transport links that make commuting feasible) is the 26th-largest in the world, with 14,167,000 inhabitants. It is the provincial capital and largest city of Gauteng, which is the wealthiest province in South Africa. Johannesburg is the seat of the Constitutional Court, the highest court in South Africa. Most of the major South African companies and banks have their head offices in Johannesburg. The city is located in the mineral-rich Witwatersrand range of hills and is the centre of large-scale gold and diamond trade. It was one of the host cities of the official tournament of the 2010 FIFA World Cup – and it hosted the final.

The city was established in 1886 following the discovery of gold on what had been a farm. Due to the extremely large gold deposit found along the Witwatersrand, within ten years, the population had grown to 100,000 inhabitants.

A separate city from the late 1970s until 1994, Soweto is now part of Johannesburg. Originally an acronym for South-Western Townships, Soweto originated as a collection of settlements on the outskirts of Johannesburg, populated mostly by native African workers from the gold mining industry.

The metropolis is an alpha global city as listed by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. In 2019, the population of the city of Johannesburg was 5,635,127, making it the most populous city in South Africa. In the same year, the population of Johannesburg's urban agglomeration was put at 8,000,000. Land area of the municipal city (1,645 km2 or 635 sq mi) is large in comparison with those of other major cities, resulting in a moderate population density of 2,364 per square kilometre (6,120/sq mi).

Snowdonia National Park 4K - Scenic Drive - Wales UK

Morning drive at dawn to the most scenic mountain pass in Snowdonia National Park in Wales United Kingdom. Sheep, stone walls, small villages, quiet streams, and stunning scenic countryside views! Video begins in the small village of Penrhyndeudraeth, passes through Beddgelert, over Pen-y-Pass of Caernarfon, and ends in the village of Llanberis. Unlike National Parks in America, you will find many residents within National Parks throughout the UK (more than 26,000 people live within Snowdonia National Park).
Filmed in 4K60FPS HDR H.265 and 4K30FPS SDR H.264. This video is the H.265 version. Please let me know if the video plays correctly on your display!
Route: .
Snowdonia is a region in northwest Wales concentrated around the mountains and glacial landforms of massive Snowdonia National Park. The park's historic Snowdon Mountain Railway climbs to the summit of Wales's highest mountain, Mount Snowdon, offering views across the sea to Ireland. The park is also home to an extensive network of trails, over 100 lakes and craggy peaks like Cader Idris and Tryfan. ― Google

Snowdonia (Welsh: Eryri) is a mountainous region in northwestern Wales and a national park of 823 square miles (2,130 km2) in area. It was the first to be designated of the three national parks in Wales, in 1951.

Snowdonia National Park (Welsh: Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri) was established in 1951 as the third national park in Britain, following the Peak District and the Lake District. It covers 827 square miles (2,140 km2), and has 37 miles (60 km) of coastline. The Snowdonia National Park covers parts of the counties of Gwynedd and Conwy.

The park is governed by the Snowdonia National Park Authority, which is made up of local government and Welsh Government representatives, and its main offices are at Penrhyndeudraeth. Unlike national parks in other countries, Snowdonia (and other such parks in Britain) is made up of both public and private lands under central planning authority.

More than 26,000 people live within the park. 58.6% of the population could speak Welsh in 2011.

While most of the land is either open or mountainous land, there is a significant amount of agricultural activity within the park.

Since the local government re-organisation of 1998, the park lies partly in the county of Gwynedd, and partly in the county borough of Conwy. It is governed by the 18-member Snowdonia National Park Authority; nine members are appointed by Gwynedd, 3 by Conwy, and the remaining six by the Welsh Government to represent the national interest. Unusually, Snowdonia National Park has a hole in the middle, around the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, a slate quarrying centre. This was deliberately excluded from the park when it was set up to allow the development of new light industry to replace the reduced slate industry. (There is a similar situation in the Peak District National Park where the boundaries were drawn to exclude large built-up areas and industrial sites from the park with the town of Buxton and the adjacent quarries outside but surrounded on three sides by the park.) The Snowdonia Society is a registered charity formed in 1967. It is a voluntary group of people with an interest in the area and its protection.

Amory Lovins led the successful 1970s opposition to stop Rio Tinto digging up the area for a massive mine.

Climate
Snowdonia is one of the wettest parts of the United Kingdom; Crib Goch in Snowdonia is the wettest spot in the United Kingdom, with an average rainfall of 4,473 millimetres (176.1 in) a year over the 30-year period prior to the mid-2000s. (There is a rainfall gauge at 713 metres, 2340' on the slopes below Crib Goch.)

Shanklin Chine | Isle of Wight | England | Shanklin Tourist Attraction | Things To Do In Shanklin

Shanklin Chine | Isle of Wight | England | Shanklin Tourist Attraction | Things To Do In Shanklin

Check out our travel blogs and travel website for more content on the best places to visit around the world.

Welcome to the magical world of Shanklin Chine, one of the Isle of Wight's most enchanting and historically significant attractions. A wonder of natural beauty and a marvel of geological formation, Shanklin Chine offers an unrivalled combination of captivating scenery and intriguing history, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the Isle of Wight.

Venture into the lush, green realm of Shanklin Chine and you'll discover a picturesque landscape etched by nature's own hands over thousands of years. This deep, narrow ravine carved by a stream is the Isle of Wight's oldest tourist attraction, its dramatic cliffs and bountiful vegetation capturing the hearts of visitors for over 200 years.

Upon entering Shanklin Chine, you're welcomed by the soft murmur of the cascading waterfall, the site's mesmerising centrepiece. The splashing water echoes through the gorge, leading to the trickling stream that winds its way through the chine, down to the sparkling beaches of Shanklin.

Nature lovers will be spellbound by Chine's diverse flora and fauna. The leafy woodland and tranquil waterways create the perfect sanctuary for wildlife, including red squirrels and a myriad of bird species. Wildflowers carpet the area in a riot of colour during spring and summer, while ferns and moss cloak the trees and rocks, creating a verdant paradise that awakens the senses.

Wandering through the winding paths of Shanklin Chine is a journey through history. The Heritage Centre located within the Chine exhibits displays the rich history and geology of the area, including its use as a training area for the commandos who participated in the famous D-Day Landings during World War II.

As the sun dips below the horizon, Shanklin Chine transforms into an illuminated wonderland. The annual 'Chine Luminaire' highlights the Isle of Wight's event calendar, illuminating the gorge with thousands of lights. This creates a magical, almost otherworldly atmosphere that genuinely must be experienced.

Families visiting Shanklin Chine will find plenty to keep the little ones engaged. From adventure-filled trails and the enchanting Pirates Cove play area to the educational Fisherman's Cottage, there's something for kids of all ages.

After exploring, why not take a moment to relax in the idyllic setting of the Chine Café? This delightful eatery offers delicious snacks and refreshing beverages – the perfect accompaniment to the stunning views.

So, whether you're an avid hiker, a history buff, or a family looking for an unforgettable day out, Shanklin Chine promises a visit filled with discovery and wonder.

Sandown NH Photo Tour

Joe Scattergood - BHHS Verani Realty

Sandown is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 5,986 at the 2010 census. Once part of Kingston, Sandown was incorporated as a separate town in 1756 by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth. It was named for picturesque Sandown on the Isle of Wight. The first minister of Sandown, Reverend Joseph Cotton, built the Sandown Meeting House in 1774. It had an 11 foot high pulpit and marble columns supporting the gallery, and is still an excellent example of early New England church architecture. In fact, the meetinghouse is said to be the finest of its type in New Hampshire, with outstanding craftsmanship and architectural details.

“hello my friends today i'd love to share something a little bit different with you it's a route essentially we are now in the isle of wight and the southernmost point of it this is the southern coast and the military road that runs along the coastline offers you so many wonderful spots to enjoy and admire the view there are many bays many car parks many little places where you can pull up get out of the car and enjoy the view so if you are a view hunter like myself this route is the way forward on the up the hill from the Chale we'll see an ancient rocket this behind me is the pepper pot one of the oldest lighthouses on the isle of wight it fell into disrepair and disused in 1538 however the main shaft the main beacon was used up until 17th century if you let your imagination play a little bit look at this doesn't it remind you of a rocket to me it just looks like a fossilized rocket so my fellow view hunters this is the ultimate beauty spot to enjoy and admire the views it has got so many little nooks and crannies
little spots where people can have picnics it really is worth a visit it's called the Chale we are going through the devil's chimney the pathway that runs from the hill all the way towards the lighthouse and now we have reached knight and blindingly white lighthouse right there in the southernmost point of the island and doesn't it just look amazing look at the way that the colors work together especially on a wonderful sunny day like this saint catherine's lighthouse was built in 1323 on the orders of the pope himself that happened after a massive cargo ship
was destroyed on the cliffs because of the poor visibility the new lighthouse was built much later in 1838 and it simply shines i personally found it
really hard almost impossible to look at without sunglasses gosh what a view but before i say goodbye there's something i'd like to ask you are there any towns villages or cities in england that you would like me to cover the same way i do my vlogs and if so please let me know in the comment section down below and until next thursday bye bye”

Visiting the 'Great Rock' at Sandown Town Forest

I only had time for a short hike, so I headed over to the Sandown Town Forest to check out the 'great rock' cliff that I read was there. It was impressive but unfortunately, as I read online, the bottom of the rock was vandalized.
