My follow on Vlog after returning into Spain from a Christmas break in the UK – If you haven’t seen you can check it out here…….
Anyway after landing at Alicante airport we take the one hour drive to the fantastic town of San Pedro del Pinatar in the Murcia region of Spain.
We make it just in time to witness a stunning sunset over the Mar Menor in an area known as Lo Pagan in San Pedro del Pinatar.
The same evening visiting a much more scaled back (due to Covid) Three Kings festival which was fantastic – I wish I could play the original music but the powers that be will not allow ???? Superheros even made an appearance.
Las Salinas (salt flats) it’s the next adventure and certainly blew off a few cobwebs from the night before – a windy walk towards the beach of El Coto. Hardly anyone around but in the summer, this will be a different story. Las Salinas is home to 100s of Flamingos but like tourists in winter there were not toom many around!
On the opposite side of the salt flats you can find the beautiful Mar Menor – a inland stretch of water that currently is classed as heavily polluted for marine life.
Not strictly San Pedro but we drive 15 mins East for a 3 km trek along the coastline, here you can see stunning beaches, coves, small marina and stunning views. Its then on to one of the most popular and oldest restaurants in San Pedro del Pinatar – the name Restaurant Venezuela!
If ever you are in San Pedro you must check this place out and go for the paella.
The following day its back to Alicante airport and back home to Ibiza

Fantastic villa with heated pool in San Pedro del Pinatar
In the cozy Lo Pagan within walking distance of the beach, various restaurants and shops we find this great villa. Located in a quiet neighborhood and on a dead end street. The spacious living room has a nice view of the garden and the swimming pool. On the entire left side is a very nice custom-made TV and library cabinet. The bright open kitchen is fully equipped and overlooks the swimming pool. The house has three spacious bright bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and a private terrace / balcony. There are two bathrooms and all rooms have air conditioning hot and cold.
The garden is fully landscaped with an irrigation system. The large swimming pool of 10x3m is heated. There are two storage rooms, so there is enough space to store bicycles, for example. Due to the various balconies and terraces, there is always sun or shade to be found everywhere.
There is a parking space at the front of the house and the entire villa is walled.

San Pedro del Pinatar situated in the province of Murcia. It is just about 23 km from Torrevieja.
San Pedro is known for its curative mud and a classy restaurant, where the King of Spain loved to dine.
In this video you can see this restaurant (3:32), unfortunately we were not allowed to shoot video inside the restaurant but we will show you a cozy courtyard, which is offered for guests who want to taste the local cuisine in the open air.
San Pedro is located very close to Torrevieja, but the architecture of these two cities differ greatly. Torrevieja is more populous and dynamic, and there are only 23-24 thousands people in San Pedro. And many of them only come there in the summer months. San Pedro is very clean, cozy and friendly town. We were happy that we came here today, we got a great promenade!
