I Fell In LOVE With CADIZ, SPAIN (Why Does NO ONE Come Here?)
In this Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I take you with me as I explore my new favorite place in Spain, showing you what to do with 1 day in Cadiz, Spain. Before visiting Cadiz, Spain I didn’t know too much about this city as not many people I met during my travels have been to Cadiz, Spain before. But, oh man, did I fall in love with the magical city of Cadiz, from its old town center to the beautiful beaches and incredible architecture. I hope you enjoy my Cadiz Spain tour!
To start off my Cadiz Spain Vlog, I went to a beautiful cafe in Cadiz old town called El Cafe de Ana. After a delicious breakfast I walked to the Cadiz Central Market to experience local life in Cadiz, Spain and watch tons of people buy and sell fresh fish. Next on my Cadiz Spain Travel Vlog, I climbed to the top of Tavira Tower for incredible views over the city of Cadiz. The views from the top of Tavira Tower are absolutely spectacular. You have amazing views over the Cadiz old town and the beautiful blue water. Visiting the top of the Tavira Tower is definitely one of the best things to do in Cadiz, Spain.
Next up on my Cadiz Spain tour, I walked to Genoves Park, which is the main park in Cadiz. After roaming around the park, I walked to the Santa Catalina Castle, which is one of my favorite places I visited in my Cadiz Spain Vlog. Right next to the Santa Catalina Castle is the main city beach in Cadiz, Spain called La Caleta Beach, which is a must visit in Cadiz. I also tried to visit the Castle of San Sebastian but it was unfortunately closed during my time in Cadiz, but the walk to the castle was still gorgeous!
For lunch in my Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I went to a neighborhood called La Vina to get some delicious fresh fish for lunch. The La Vina neighborhood is a great place to walk around and enjoy the city of Cadiz. Next on my Cadiz Spain tour, I went to the famous Cadiz Cathedral, which is absolutely stunning and a must visit in Cadiz, Spain. After admiring the Cadiz Cathedral, I went to another one of Cadiz, Spain’s many beaches called La Playita / Playa de las Mujeres / Playa de Santa Maria Del Mar. This is a great place to both swim and surf, depending on the conditions!
I hope you enjoyed my Cadiz Spain Vlog and tour of Cadiz Spain! I still don’t understand why more people don’t visit Cadiz, Spain, because I fell in love with this city and I hope to go back soon!

La ciudad de San Fernando se encuentra enclavada en el corazón de la Bahía de Cádiz.
Está comunicada con Cádiz a través de una lengua de tierra de unos 8 kilómetros y al resto de la península por el Puente Zuazo. La Isla de León, como popularmente se la conoce, es un lugar de ensueño para el visitante por su buen clima, su playa natural, su gastronomía y el carácter extrovertido y hospitalario de sus habitantes.
Aparte de ser un lugar histórico, San Fernando es lugar de peregrinación de los amantes del Flamenco, ya que vio nacer al gran Camarón de la Isla. Como parte de nuestro recorrido visitamos la ¨Venta de Vargas ¨ (donde de niño comenzó a cantar Camarón).
El sitio tiene una marca inigualable que ha convertido al restaurante en un símbolo del flamenco y es considerada como una verdadera catedral flamenca.
Las innumerables fiestas y “Madrugás Flamencas”, los recitales para cabales, la gran cantidad de artistas de todas las modalidades que han pasado y el sello de Manolo Caracol, Camarón de La Isla, Sara Baras, Niña Pastori, Chato de La Isla...hacen de este lugar algo diferente, algo único. Rodeada por el Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz, la antigua Isla de León, que toma su nombre actual tras la Guerra de Independencia , ofrece un interesante paisaje de marismas, salinas y dunas. La presencia de fenicios y romanos queda atestiguada por los restos conservados en su Museo Histórico. El Castillo de San Romualdo (un ribat islámico) defendía el único paso terrestre desde el continente hasta Cádiz. Conocido antiguamente como El castillo del lugar de la Puente se alza en el extremo de la calle Real, más cercano al puente Zuazo. Su emplazamiento, cercano a la defensa natural del caño de Sancti-Petri, ha sido fundamental para repeler los ataques de los ejércitos enemigos.
Fundada en el año 1303 por Alfonso Pérez de Guzmán, Chiclana de la Frontera, en el s.XVIII experimentará un gran desarrollo económico contagiándose así de la intensa actividad comercial y mercantil de toda la Bahía. Se construyen en esta época casas señoriales como la del Conde del Pinar. La industria vinícola que ha sustentado tradicionalmente la economía de la población (con excelentes vinos que pertenecen a las denominaciones de origen de Jerez-Xeres- Sherry y Manzanilla de Sanlúcar) ha ido paulatinamente dejando paso al sector turístico con un auge espectacular en los últimos años.
Desde la playa de la Barrosa se puede contemplar la pintoresca Isla de Sancti Petri, único resto subsistente del extremo meridional de la isla mayor de Cádiz, donde sitúa la tradición el famoso templo de Hércules fundado para el dios fenicio Melkart, visitado entre otros por Julio César y Aníbal. Actualmente existen ruinas de un antiguo castillo.
