Aydın's City Center: Walking Tour, Turkey, Spring 2022

Hi everyone,

We made this video walking around the center of Aydın which is the capital of Aydın Province in the Aegean part of Turkey.
Aydın might not be well known to tourists but it's actually a great location to stop since there are many other interesting cities and sights nearby. Also, it has a really charming city center with nice cafes and shops and the people we met were really nice and smiling.
One thing we noticed immediately is how green the center is: everywhere you'll find trees and flowers.

So have a look and hopefully you will enjoy this video!

KUSADASI - Kuşadası - Turkey (4K)

KUSADASI, Türkiye.

Kuşadası is a large resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast, and the center of the seaside district of the same name within Aydın Province. Kuşadası is 95 km (59 mi) south of İzmir, and about 60 km (37 mi) from Aydın. The municipality's primary industry is tourism. The city is situated along a gulf of the same name in the Aegean. The island of Güvercinada (in English: Pigeon Island) is connected to mainland Kuşadası by a man-made causeway, and is situated adjacent to the large hill of Kese Dağı near the center of town. It is located 95 km (59 mi) south of İzmir, the area's metropolitan centre, and approximately 60–70 km (37–43 mi) in driving distance from the provincial seat of Aydın, depending on the route taken. Its neighbours are Selçuk to the north, Germencik to the north-east, and Söke to the east and south.

Ladies Beach (Turkish: Kadınlar Denizi) is a beach in Kuşadası, Aydın Province, Turkey. It is visited by local residents especially on Sundays. The Turkish name Kadınlar Denizi (Women's Sea) comes from the historical usage of the beach during the Ottoman period, when only women were allowed to swim there. Today, men and women are not separated since Turkey has a strong sense of secularism.

Ephesus, Turkey Tour: Going From Izmir to Ephesus and Sightseeing in Efes

If you love historical places then one of the top places to visit in Turkey is Ephesus Archaeological Site. Here is some practical information about how to reach Ephesus from Izmir, what to see and do here, and some budget places to stay.

????️ Check out my favorite travel essentials here:

???? How to Reach Ephesus

Reaching Selcuk

To reach Ephesus Archaeological Site, you need to first reach Selcuk which is the gateway to this ancient site.

There is a train station at Selcuk which is the best way to reach this city and is connected to several nearby towns such as Denizli, Izmir, etc.

From Izmir, there are several trains throughout the day and it takes 2 hours to reach Selcuk. The ticket costs 18 TL (90 INR) and is easily available at the train station.

Reaching Ephesus

Once you have reached Selcuk, head to the Bus station. From here, you can get a bus to Ephesus Site every 30 minutes. The bus journey costs 10 TL (50 INR) and takes around 15 minutes max.

????️ Where to Stay

Although I stayed in Izmir, I would suggest that you stay in Selcuk itself as it's a quiet and beautiful town. There are mountains surrounding you and one could easily find lots more to do in and around the city.

However, there aren't many backpacker-friend options available here so staying here will easily cost you anywhere between 400 - 1000 TL (2000-5000 INR) for a night here.

???? What or Where to Eat

There are many restaurants and cafes available both in Selcuk and Ephesus. However, the food at Ephesus would be more expensive so i would avoid against it.

Personally, i had the most delicious meal at Koylum Restaurant in Selcuk where they served a meal with ayran for 90 TL (450 INR). I would recommend you to check out that place if you are searching for a good place to eat in Selcuk. :)

Entry Ticket Fee, Timings, and Other Details

If you don't have the Turkey Museum Pass (valid for all the museums in Turkey for 15 days), then you will have to pay 150 TL (750 INR) for entry.

Timings: Daily 8 AM to 6:30 PM

Toilet: There is a free toilet inside the complex that you can use

Museum Shop: You can also buy souvenirs or books about Ephesus from a Museum Shop inside the complex.

???? Why Visit Ephesus

There are several reasons to visit the Ephesus Archaeological Site such as:

1. It is the capital of the ancient city which was founded thousands of years ago by women - Kybele, Artemis, and the Virgin Mary.

2. It is one of the largest ancient cities in the Anatolia region with a population of around 250,000 people.

3. According to research, the earliest settlement here was in 7000 BC.

4. There are many spectacular temples, buildings, and monuments excavated or still standing here.

5. It gives you a little glimpse into Roman and Greek history as many famous people such as Cleopatra's sister used to live here.

So, that's it. I hope you visit Ephesus and can see the glory of this ancient city for yourself.
