MAP OF ZIMBABWE

greetings my friends. this is a map of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west and southwest, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east and northeast. Its northwest corner is roughly 150 meters from Namibia, nearly forming a four-nation quadripoint. Most of the country is elevated, consisting of a central plateau (high veld) stretching from the southwest northwards with altitudes between 1,000 and 1,600 m. The country's extreme east is mountainous, this area being known as the Eastern Highlands, with Mount Nyangani as the highest point at 2,592 m.

The highlands are known for their natural environment, with tourist destinations such as Nyanga, Troutbeck, Chimanimani, Vumba and Chirinda Forest at Mount Selinda. About 20% of the country consists of low-lying areas, under 900m. Victoria Falls, one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls, is located in the country's extreme northwest and is part of the Zambezi river. Zimbabwe has a subtropical climate with many local variations. The southern areas are known for their heat and aridity, while parts of the central plateau receive frost in winter. The Zambezi valley is known for its extreme heat, and the Eastern Highlands usually experience cool temperatures and the highest rainfall in the country. The country's rainy season generally runs from late October to March, and the hot climate is moderated by increasing altitude. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

Mutoko Growth Point And Mutemwa Mountain Aerial View

In this video we get to drone doodle over Mutoko growth point located in the eastern part of Zimbabwe. Mutoko is a vibrant and fast growing growth point. It is also popularly known for its religious backbone from the Mutemwa mountain. Actually one of the rocky mountains in the drone video is the Mutemwa mountain.

About Mutemwa mountain
Rising above 1500 metres from broad-based stoney boulders on the outskirts of Mutemwa Leprosy Centre, Mutemwa Mountain in Mutoko remains a sacred place of worship for Christians, with a rich history of mysterious happenings and miracles.

For many years, it has been host to thousands of people who are drawn to the mountain to pray, to revive their waning spiritual lives and seek redemption. Some come at their wits’ end, discouraged by life’s downside and looking for a place of rest and comfort. Many “battles” have been fought in the belly of the sprawling mountain, which overlooks Mutoko. Most members of the Catholic Church converge for a pilgrimage every year, in the first week of September. During my high school years since I was at a Catholic school, we actually visited this mountain. That was in 2005 when I was about to write my Ordinary Level exams.

From a distance, it is just like any mountain that one would come across in Zimbabwe, but the locals hold it in thrall. There is rich history that surrounds the place. Mysterious happenings, supernatural experiences and even miracles are said to have happened here.

Ep8|S1| Mutare Visit (HalfWay House, Zimbos café, Wise Owl Hotel)| Zimbabwe Vlog|

There is no way I'm travelling to Mutare from Harare and not stop for a snack at HalfWay House (which offers a variety of food options). Zimbos Café located right in the heart of Mutare CBD is also a fav. This time around we stayed at Wise Owl Hotel so you also get to see what it looks like in this video in case you're planning on staying there one of these days. On this trip, we were en route to Mozambique so the plan was to visit Penhalonga before crossing the border but you will see that the rains did not allow that to happen. Thankfully, when we came back from Mozambique, the weather was much more favourible. So Episodes 9 & 10 are going to be of nature reserves in Penhalonga... Enjoy!????

Driving in Zimbabwe : Kariba to Harare via Makuti, Karoi, Lion's Den, Chinhoyi along A1 road

Kariba, town, northern Zimbabwe. Situated on the south bank of the Zambezi River and built on the twin hills of Botererkwa overlooking Kariba Gorge and Lake Kariba (one of the world’s largest man-made lakes), the town was established in 1957 by the Federal Power Board to accommodate Kariba Dam’s construction staff as well as settlers. The name means “where the waters have been trapped.” During the five-year construction of the dam, the Batonka people living in the areas to be flooded were relocated, as were animals marooned by the formation of the lake. Kariba has become one of Zimbabwe’s major tourist resorts largely because of its location on the lake and proximity to several national parks, including Mana Pools National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984. The town has an international airport. Pop. (2002) 22,726; (2012) 26,112.

Chinhoyi is located on the western banks of the Manyame River, in Makonde District, in Mashonaland West Province in central northern Zimbabwe. Its location lies approximately 116 kilometres (72 mi) northwest of Harare by road, the capital of Zimbabwe and the largest city in the country. Chinhoyi lies on the main road, Highway A-1, between Harare and Chirundu, at the International border with Zambia, about 240 kilometres (150 mi), further northwest of Chinhoyi.

Harare, formerly Salisbury, capital of Zimbabwe, lying in the northeastern part of the country. The city was founded in 1890 at the spot where the British South Africa Company’s Pioneer Column halted its march into Mashonaland; it was named for Lord Salisbury, then British prime minister. The name Harare is derived from that of the outcast Chief Neharawe, who, with his people, occupied the kopje (the hill at the foot of which the commercial area grew) at the time the Pioneer Column arrived and seized the land. The city was created a municipality in 1897 and developed after the arrival of the railway (1899) from the port of Beira, Mozambique, becoming a market and mining centre. It was chartered as a city in 1935. Industrialization during and after World War II led to an influx of population. Salisbury was the capital of the colony of Southern Rhodesia, of the short-lived Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (1953–63), and of Rhodesia during the period of the unilateral declaration of independence (1965–79). It was retained as capital by the new government of independent Zimbabwe (1980) and renamed Harare.

The city is modern and well-planned, with multistoried buildings and tree-lined avenues. It is the site of Anglican and Roman Catholic cathedrals, a Dutch Reformed church, the Queen Victoria Memorial Library and Museum, the National Archives, the University of Zimbabwe (opened 1957), and the Rhodes National Gallery.

Harare lies at an elevation of 4,865 feet (1,483 metres) and has a temperate climate. It is a hub of rail, road, and air transport (the airport at nearby Kentucky handles international traffic) and is the centre of Zimbabwe’s industry and commerce. It is also the main distribution point for the agricultural produce of the surrounding area, especially its Virginia tobacco. There are also important gold mines in the vicinity. Greater Harare includes residential Highlands and the industrial suburbs of Southerton, Graniteside, and Workington. The most populous of the adjoining townships is Highfield. Area 216 square miles (559 square km). Pop. (2002) 1,435,784; (2012) 1,485,231.

In recent years, Chinese tourists have played an important role in the growth of Zimbabwe's tourism industry. And now, Zimbabwe is seeking to attract tourists from the Middle east region to further expand its inbound tourism base.
