Today we venture to Roxborough State Park just south of Denver. Known for it's dramatic red sandstone features this is a gorgeous spot that makes for an easy and quick outing from the Denver area.
With close to 4000-acres, Roxborough State Park is filled with dramatic red-rock formations, distinct plant communities and a variety of wildlife ranging from black bears to mule deer. Enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, trail running, photography, bird watching or one of our many programs and events. Whether you are new to the outdoors or an experienced outdoor enthusiast, Roxborough State Park has an opportunity for you.
NOTE: There are no dogs or pets allowed within the park, I made that mistake the first time I tried to venture here. A hefty fine awaits those who break that rule.

I visited in mid-September and early February after a recent snow in order to provide a comparison. The 3000 plus acre park contains a variety of hiking trails and plenty of gorgeous views.

This is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house right on a secluded cove on Lake Mayo. We rarely see anyone else. The lake is great for waterskiing, jet skiing, fishing, and swimming. There are rarely any other boats on the lake.
We have a large deck with lovely seating, propane grill, There are 3 floors, all with gorgeous views of the lake.

BOSTON TRAVEL VLOG- Best Food in the City, TOP FREEDOM TRAIL Stops, Birthplace of Boston Cream Pie
Welcome to Boston, Massachusetts!
Today our adventures take us to Beantown as we explore the best food and top things to do in just 24 hours in the city.
Perhaps the top thing to do in Boston is the FREEDOM TRAIL, a free walking tour taking you to top historical sites in the city. We saw old churches, famous gravesites (Paul Revere, Sam Adams, John Hancock and more!) and even an old ship! We stopped at the COOLEST most high tech mini golf course around (Puttshack), and stayed at the legendary Boston Park Plaza hotel.
Food was another top priority on our trip! We had lunch at Quincy Market with lobster rolls and lobster bisque at the Boston Chowda Co. We celebrated National Boston Cream Pie Day at the birthplace of the treat (Omni Hotel) and we compared the best pastries in the city as we compared Mike's vs Modern for the best cannoli. Finally, we had dinner at the Barking Crab right on the water!

Durham is a city in and the county seat of Durham County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Small portions of the city limits extend into Orange County and Wake County. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the city's population to be 274,291 as of July 1, 2018, making it the 4th-most populous city in North Carolina, and the 79th-most populous city in the United States. The city is located in the east-central part of the Piedmont region along the Eno River. Durham is the core of the four-county Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area, which has a population of 542,710 as of U.S. Census 2014 Population Estimates. The US Office of Management and Budget also includes Durham as a part of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Combined Statistical Area, commonly known as the Research Triangle, which has a population of 2,037,430 as of U.S. Census 2014 Population Estimates.
A railway depot was established on land donated by Bartlett S. Durham in 1849, the namesake of the city. Following the American Civil War, the community of Durham Station expanded rapidly, in part due to the tobacco industry. The town was incorporated by act of the North Carolina General Assembly, on April 1869. The establishment of Durham County was ratified by the General Assembly 12 years later, in 1881. It became known as the founding place and headquarters of the American Tobacco Company. Textile and electric power industries also played an important role. While these industries have declined, Durham underwent revitalization and population growth to become an educational, medical, and research centre.
Durham is home to several recognized institutions of higher education, most notably Duke University and North Carolina Central University. Durham is also a national leader in health-related activities, which are focused on the Duke University Hospital and many private companies. Duke and its Duke University Health System, in fact, are the largest employers in the city. North Carolina Central University is a historically black university that is part of the University of North Carolina system. Together, the two universities make Durham one of the vertices of the Research Triangle area; central to this is the Research Triangle Park south of Durham, which encompasses an area of 11 square miles and is devoted to research facilities.
On the Duke University campus are the neo-Gothic Duke Chapel and the Nasher Museum of Art. Other notable sites in the city include the Museum of Life and Science, Durham Performing Arts Center, Carolina Theatre, and Duke Homestead and Tobacco Factory. Bennett Place commemorates the location where Joseph E. Johnston surrendered to William T. Sherman in the American Civil War. The city is served, along with Raleigh, by Raleigh–Durham International Airport.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FIND ODD CLOTHING/ITEMS ALONG THE TRAIL
Hiking along the trail, I noticed items of little girl's clothing along the way to the end of the trail. Distraught with the findings, I reached out to search and rescue to ask what is the proper way to handle finding things along a trail and should you or shouldn't you report it. What needs to be reported and what doesn't? Stay tuned until the end for the answers.
This is Buffalo Trail to Sennett Hole Trail at the Eno in Durham NC. This is the West Point on the Eno City Park off Roxboro Rd.
Legend has it that Michael Synott was one of the first millers on the Eno in 1700's. He lost his mill to a flood and he had a pot of gold that fell into the Hole, never to be found. The name Synott became Sennett over the years and the lore is that Sennett's Hole is a bottomless pit and his gold is down there somewhere.
This is the only remaining dam on the Eno at this time.

Durham, NC Downtown tour
This video shows my drive through Durham, NC from I-85 on Roxboro St. onto Mangum St. and then out of the downtown area on Main St. and finishing just past the famous Can-opener Bridge. The temperature was in the upper 50s and the weather was some light rain and mist with overcast.
