Join us as we explore the area of the small village of Reichenbach - today this village is part of Hessisch Lichtenau but its castle had been the administrative seat of the region till 1490.
Also the short lived monastery was granted to the German knight Order in 1207 and was its first holding inside German territory
Also the castle of Reichenbach was a command point in the actual star war around 1376-1380

Return to Castle Reichenbach
Today we hike on the Sidetrail 1 of the P10 trail around the village of Reichenbach.
This time daddy is alone in the woods with both the kids - still we managed it to and up the castle tower and safe home - this is the only marked side trail of the P10 and is only about 5 km long .

Eindrucksvoll ist die größte Ziegelsteinbrücke der Welt, die Göltzschtalbrücke. Aber auch der Altmarkt mit einem der Wahrzeichen der Stadt, dem Alten Rathaus und seinem schönen Renaissancegiebel. Praktisch: Nutzt am besten den Stadtführer, der über QR - Codes funktioniert. Den Überblick über die Stadt bekommt ihr vom Bärensteinturm. Legendär ist natürlich die Plauener Spitze. Die kann man gleich dort kaufen - und in der Schaustickerei erleben, wie diese filigranen Meisterwerke entstehen. Flanieren könnt ihr auch am Flussbett der Weißen Elster mit der alten Elsterbrücke. Kulinarisch verlockend ist die Patisserie „Klein und Fein“.
