Pontevedra - El Mejor Banco Del Mundo De Redondela (Miradoiro do Campo da Rata) (22/07/2023)
PT// Este miradouro chama logo a atenção pelo nome que pretende afirmar-se como sendo um dos melhores do Mundo. No Miradouro do Campo da Rata foi instaldo um banco que rapidamente conquistou popularidade.
Acesso ao local não é totalmente simples, já que o estacionamento fica a cerca de 1,5 km de distância. O percurso a pé, por um caminho de terra, inicia-se com uma subida inclinada, seguindo por um trilho florestal até alcançarmos as rochas onde o banco está instalado. Dada a dimensão das rochas, é necessário encontrar o local adequado para atravessá-las.
Contudo, uma vez atingido o objetivo de alcançar o banco, a recompensa é altamente compensadora, proporcionando vistas impressionantes da Ria de Vigo, da enseada de San Simón e da Ponte de Rande. Esta experiência, embora exija algum esforço, revela-se como um tesouro escondido para aqueles que apreciam a beleza natural e buscam um ponto de vista único na região.
EN// This viewpoint immediately captures attention with its name, which aims to establish itself as one of the best in the world. At the Campo da Rata viewpoint, a bench was installed that quickly gained popularity.
Access to the location is not entirely straightforward, as parking is about 1.5 km away. The on-foot journey, along a dirt path, begins with a steep ascent, followed by a forest trail until reaching the rocks where the bench is situated. Given the size of the rocks, it is necessary to find the right place to cross them.
However, once the goal of reaching the bench is achieved, the reward is highly satisfying, offering breathtaking views of the Ria de Vigo, the San Simón cove, and the Rande Bridge. This experience, although requiring some effort, proves to be a hidden gem for those who appreciate natural beauty and seek a unique vantage point in the region.

8 September 2019, 19 km - No pain, no glory. The countdown has started - the last 100 km. Not everything is the same on the Spanish side of the Caminho. While we can no longer have our daily Pastel de Nata, we can now get a freshly pressed Sumo de Naranja in almost all cafes and that becomes our new daily routine. After arrival, Redondela provided the last swimming opportunity.

Day 9 on Camino de Santiago Portugues Coastal: O Freixo - Redondela
Day 9 - we lost the Camino. The worst thing that can happen to a pilgrim is to lose the yellow arrows. We just spotted one right before we had to follow a highway. So we thought the Camino found us in the very right moment.... BUT
then the big rain ️ started...
Three hours later we got to Redondela soaking wet but in such good mood!

#ConsejosdelCartero: Qué ver en Redondela | Camino Portugués
Si estás realizando el Camino de Santiago Portugués o lo vas a hacer en un futuro, Redondela será una de las localidades que visitarás, tras pasar por O Porriño. En este vídeo, nuestro compañero Costoya, cartero de la zona, nos hace una visita guiada por algunos de los sitios que todo peregrino debería ver a su paso por Redondela.
Comenzamos la visita frente al Pazo de Vilavella, en la entrada del Camino Portugués hacia Redondela. Entramos a la villa y seguimos a Costoya hasta situarnos bajo el viejo viaducto que iba a Madrid, obra del ingeniero Pedro Floriani, que cuenta con una historia peculiar. Los coetáneos de profesión de este ingeniero - cuenta Costoya - le aseguraron que dicha estructura nunca funcionaría, y, ante la presión, este se suicidó desde el mismo puente. No obstante, la estructura resistió perfectamente y, de hecho, a lo largo de los años se ha convertido no sólo en un símbolo de la villa, sino en un modelo a seguir para obras posteriores.
Nos dirigimos después hacia la iglesia de Santiago y, de camino, paramos a visitar el Dragón da Coca, otro de los símbolos de la villa. Por último, visitamos la Alameda, pasando junto a la estatua de Daniel Castelao y el Palco de la Música, y dejando de fondo el viaducto a Madrid. Aquí, Costoya se despide invitando a los peregrinos a conocer Redondela y nuestros servicios en el Camino Portugués.

9 September 2019, 19 km - You notice the one-hour time difference between Portugal and Spain, particularly in the mornings. By the time we used to get up in Portugal, it is now still dark. The albergue in Redondela is also the last municipal albergue that we would stay in. We are not the early birds, so first come, first serve doesn't work for us. Completo, full.
