Top Restaurants to Visit in Rainford, Lancashire | England - English

Rainford is a charming village located in the county of Lancashire, England. With a rich history dating back centuries, Rainford is a place that offers both residents and visitors a glimpse into the past.

One of the notable aspects of Rainford's history is its association with coal mining. The village was once a thriving mining community, with several collieries operating in the area. Coal mining played a significant role in the local economy and shaped the landscape of Rainford.

In addition to its mining heritage, Rainford is also known for its historic buildings and landmarks. St. Helens Church, which dates back to the 12th century, is a prominent feature of the village. This beautiful church has stood the test of time and continues to be a place of worship and a symbol of Rainford's

Places to see in ( Liverpool - UK ) Mathew Street

Mathew Street is a street in Liverpool, England, best-known worldwide as the location of the Cavern Club, where The Beatles played on numerous occasions in their early career. Mathew Street is the centre of the Mathew Street Festival, which fills the streets of Liverpool every Summer.

Mathew Street connects Rainford Gardens (off Whitechapel) to North John Street, and is located in an area of the city centre known today as The Cavern Quarter. Historically it was the centre of Liverpool's wholesale fruit and vegetable market. Mathew Street is visited by thousands of tourists a year, who visit the Cavern Club and many surrounding attractions including a statue of John Lennon, a Beatles store and several pubs formerly frequented by The Beatles. A wall in Mathew Street is adorned by a sculpture by Arthur Dooley entitled Four Lads Who Shook the World.

Mathew Street was also home to the influential music club Eric's, which played host to many famous punk bands from its opening in 1976, despite only being open for 4 years. The fame of Mathew Street led to the arrest of 3 men in 2006 when a resident of Dallas, Texas, viewing the street's webcam, saw a burglary in progress and called Merseyside Police.

As a result, a statue of Jung was erected in Mathew Street in 1987, but being made of plaster, was vandalised and replaced by a more durable version in 1993. Today, Mathew Street is one of Liverpool's most popular nightlife destinations.

( Liverpool - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Liverpool . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Liverpool - UK

Liverpool, UK 4K-HDR Walking Tour - 2021 - Tourister Tours

A beautiful walk in Liverpool during December of 2020.

LIVERPOOL | Full tour of Liverpool City Centre

A tour of Liverpool City Centre, The Beatles home town featuring the Liverpool Trophy Parade and tourist attractions like The Cavern Club, Mathew Street, Albert Dock and Liver Building
Also watch Llandudno Wales ????????

Liverpool is a city on the River Mersey in Merseyside, England. Gimbal Walk TV visits Liverpool City Centre for this epic walk through one of the greatest cities in England on the day of the Liverpool Trophy Parade.

Our Liverpool tour begins at the Royal Albert Docks on the River Mersey on the waterfront where we can see the Liver Building in the distance, just one of our stops ahead of us. The Albert Dock is where This Morning with Richard and Judy was filmed.

Coming out of Albert Dock we cross Hartley Quay and head past the Maritime Museum and the Dock Traffic Office and pump house. As we pass Canning Dock we come to The Strand where the scousers are gathering ahead of the Liverpool Football Club Trophy Parade.

From The Strand we make our way along to The Liverpool Waterfront and Pier Head where we stop by to see The Beatles statue and monument to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.

We also see the Royal Liver Building and the Cunard Building as well as the Port Of Liverpool Building and Georges Dockway.

From here we walk up Brunswick Street to Castle Street and Liverpool Town Hall before heading down to the world famous Mathew Street, home of The Cavern Club where the Beatles and Cilla Black were discovered. Head down into the basement of the most famous club in the world to experience what it would have been like in days of the Fab Four.

Just as exciting as The Cavern Club for me is Eric's Liverpool music venue opposite where many bands made their early appearances from Echo and the Bunnymen to OMD.

Mathew Street is a vibrant and exciting street with Rubber Soul bar, the Cavern Pub, Sgt Peppers, The Hard Days Night hotel and the Cilla Black statue. Also on Mathew Street is the Liverpool Beatles Museum which is worth a visit. The Grapes Pub is also a noteable place here to have a drink or something to eat.

Of course the main tourist attraction in Liverpool is the Cavern Club itself, and there are many Beatles Shops and the Beatles Tour here. Where Mathew Street meets Rainford Gardens is the building that used to house Probe Records where famous pop star Pete Burns used to work.

This Liverpool guide then takes us into Whitechapel and up Lord Street before heading down to The Strand for the big ending to our video, the Liverpool Trophy Parade where Liverpool Football Club passes by on open top buses, cheered on by Liverpool fans here to see their footballing heroes!

With 5 shopping centres, 2 department stores and over 400 shops there's something for everyone and every budget in Liverpool city centre.

Stores range from stylish boutiques, designer outlets in Metquarter and Cavern Walks to all the big names you’d expect to find on the high street, along with smaller independent stores unique to the city.

Liverpool is great with hotels, restaurants, bars, museums, galleries and more.

Fans of The Beatles will lover the Cavern Quarter. The Cavern Quarter is quite the place for people from all over the world to experience a bit of Beatles History.

Mathew Street is also home to plenty of other Beatles themed bars including the Cavern Pub, Eric’s, The Grapes, Rubber Soul and Sgt Peppers - wherever you go down here the sound of The Beatles will follow.

Take a wander down the historic street and you’ll be welcomed by not only the sounds of buskers but by the arms of some of Liverpool’s most famous statues too. Find John Lennon leaning up against the Cavern Pub and Cilla Black opposite Eric’s.

HAMBLETON: Selby Parish #26 of 74

Here comes a Selby village which has a population of almost 2,000 people, the majority of which are commuters working in the major towns and cities close by like Selby, York and Leeds, and with it being just five miles from the A1(M) Junction 42, you can see why this place has become such with good transport links to the rest of the nation.

In itself though, even though it's what we would term a dormitory village, it does have quite a collection of interesting things about it. There's a well used village hall, a school and a couple of day nurseries, and two pubs. One of these, The Owl, is a local live music venue as well as being a hotel and a restaurant that's been fashioned from an old manor house!

The village was, and always has been a farming community, and the land around is still farmed to this day. Back in the 1800s that farming community here consisted of a village that had just 500 people, a quarter of what it has now. The swell in population has brought with it a nice mixture to the demographic but it still remains a predominantly White British settlement.

The most interesting thing for me in this one comes in the form of a few sections of railway line in the North of the parish - a junction where two lines cross each other. They are the Leeds and Selby line which runs over a bridge that crosses the East Coast Main Line, and they're linked by what are known as chords, the Southern one of the two built over the site of the former station that once served this very village.

Christmas Trees, household interiors, a Methodist Chapel, a nature reserve and a now demolished pub are also all mentioned in this episode. Welcome to Hameltun, better known to the locals now as HAMBLETON.
