Naumburg / Germany is a town in southern Saxony-Anhalt.
The Naumburg cathedral is the most popular sight which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018.
We start in our walking tour right there at the cathedral and explore the town center from its market square. We get out of the center and return passing the Nietzsche House. Our tour ends at the market square having a good impression of Naumburg.

A look around Burg Blankenheim - a DJH German Castel Hostel
This is a little look around the German DJH Youth Hostel Burg Blankenheim which overlooks the village of Blankenheim in Germany. It's a simple but atmospheric castle hostel, close to the Eifel National Park.
The best thing about the Eifel is there is nothing here, says our host at Hostel Blankenheim. Well, for a place with nothing it kept us pretty busy. We found ourselves biking field and forest around the National Park, cheering on classic cars at a world famous racetrack at Nürburgring and racing around a castle that was built as a display of power and wealth but now offers charming hostel accommodation. Check out the video for a taste of the character of Jugendherberge Burg Blankenheim.

Naumburg Cathedral - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site of Naumburg Cathedral towers over the city of Naumburg. It dates from the 13th century and is built in a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Although it looks great from the outside, it's on the inside where the real treasure lies - let's find it!

Freudenberg Castle / Burg Freudenberg 2022
In 1197, Bishop Heinrich III. build a residential tower from Berg . Under the Würzburg bishop Konrad I von Querfurt there was another construction phase, but on a smaller scale. The Counts of Wertheim were probably fiefs of the castle from the start. But only in 1295 with the feudal taking of castrum et oppidum Freudenberg by Kunigunde von Wertheim , they can definitely be proven.
In 1361, among other things, the curtain wall and the palace were built by Eberhard von Wertheim .
Another expansion and expansion of the castle into a fortified fortress with an imposing Renaissance building was carried out between 1497 and 1507 by Count Erasmus von Wertheim . A fore bailey was built through massive embankments . The imposing four-storey cannon tower on the Main side and a forecourt to secure the southern mountain side were built. Another protective wall with three small round towers was placed in front of the kennel wall . The wall closed up to the south-west gate, which was additionally secured by a closed interior and a tower. Only after passing through a second and third gate was access to the Main castle possible. This was fenced in in an almost triangular plan. In the south-west corner is the Palas, in the north-east corner there is another stone building of almost the same size and in the south-east the famous three-story, oversized keep . Another small third stone building leaned south against the battlement . The most recently built outer defensive wall was extended to the west and east down the mountainside to the Main and enclosed the castle town of Freudenberg. This castle extension , probably based on Breuberg Castle , was Erasmus (also Asmus ) von Wertheim's last life's work. He died in 1509.
The castle was only the Burgmannen - and administrative seat. In 1552 it was badly damaged in the Markgräflerkrieg and with the extinction of the Wertheimers in 1556, the castle gradually fell into disrepair. The administration was moved to the city and only the cannon tower (especially in the witch trials after 1590) was still used as a prison.
With the end of the Middle Ages, the castle fell into disrepair and overgrown with scrub and trees. It was forgotten for centuries. It was only after the Second World War that a citizens' initiative campaigned for the castle. It was gradually uncovered and renovated and returned to the public in 1995 in a new condition. At the moment (as of 2012) the ring walls to the site and the cannon tower are being renovated.
Please be aware that during summer the inner castle is locked due to theatrical performance.

Mittelalterliches Burgleben in der Burgküche von Burg & Schloss Allstedt
Beeindruckend mit wieviel Enthusiasmus und Freude das Team des Museums Burg & Schloss Allstedt in den Tagen des Burgfestes am 14./15. April die Burgküche in eine lebendige Mittelalterzeit zurückversetzten. Ganz toll.
Mittelalterliches Burgfest am 14./15. April 2018 auf Burg & Schloss Allstedt. Die Vorburg war auch mit dabei und öffnete den Hof für ein tolles und vor allem sonniges Wochenende mit mehr als 4.000 Besuchern von nah & fern.

Liebe Community. Überall in diesen Land, sowie über dessen Grenzen hinaus, gibt es eine Welt des Zerfalls. Die #lostplace . Seien es Gebäude, Fabriken oder sonstige Anlagen. Vom Menschen erschaffen und vom Menschen wieder verlassen. Zurück bleiben #verlasseneorte Vieles wird dann sich selbst überlassen und die Natur kehrt zurück. Mal langsam und mal schneller. Der Zerfall beginnt meistens langsam und schreitet immer weiter fort, bis zum völligen Zusammenbruch und der kompletten Auflösung. Alle diese Orte zeigen und erzählen uns ihre Geschichten. Es ist eine Reise in vergangene Zeiten und Epochen. Durch Recherche und Suche, sowie Kontaktaufnahmen mit Personen die weiterhelfen konnten, konnten ich diese Orte besuchen. Ich habe mich immer von Aufbruch, Beschädigungen oder Diebstahl distanziert. Auch wurde von mir nichts verändert, beschmiert oder umdekoriert. Die Fotos zeigen es so wie ich es damals vorgefunden habe.
Kurze Info über mich: Meine Name ist Roland und habe etliche Jahre viele viele verlassene Orte besucht. Der Reiz das Unentdeckte zu entdecken war enorm groß. Doch dann kam alles anders als erwartet und ich wurde schwer krank. Nach einer langen Genesung Phase ging ich dann wieder auf Tour, doch es war nicht mehr so wie es einmal war. Ich kam sehr schnell an meine körperlichen Grenzen. Und das tat mir nicht gut. Es gab Situationen wo die Kraft einfach fehlte. Nach sehr langer und reiflicher Überlegung wurde es dann doch Zeit die Kamera aus gesundheitliche Gründen an die Seite zu legen und in die Urbex Rente zu gehen. Es fiel schwer aber die Gesundheit geht nun einmal vor. Nun lasse ich euch sehr gerne an meinen ehemaligen spannenden Abenteuern und Erkundungen teilhaben. Ich hoffe es gefällt euch. Dear community. Everywhere in this land, as well as beyond its borders, there is a world of decay. Be it buildings, factories or other facilities. Created by man and abandoned by man. A lot of things are then left to their own devices and nature returns. Sometimes slowly and sometimes faster. The decay usually begins slowly and progresses until complete collapse and dissolution. All of these places show and tell us their stories. It is a journey into bygone times and eras. Through research and searching, as well as contacting people who could help, I was able to visit these places. I have always distanced myself from break-ins, damage or theft. I also didn't change, smear or redecorate anything. The photos show it as I found it at the time.
Brief information about me: My name is Roland and I have visited many, many abandoned places for several years. The appeal of discovering the undiscovered was enormous. But then everything turned out differently than expected and I became seriously ill. After a long recovery period I went on tour again, but things weren't the same anymore. I reached my physical limits very quickly. And that wasn't good for me. There were situations where the strength was simply lacking. After very long and careful consideration, it was time to put the camera aside for health reasons and go into Urbex retirement. It was difficult but health comes first. Now I would be happy to share with you my former exciting adventures and explorations. I hope you enjoy it. Stay healthy and LG.
