Puerto López, Meta - Colombia
#YoVoy a Puerto López, un municipio fiel representante de la cultura llanera, que se encuentra ubicado a 1 h 24 min (83.9 km) por la vía nacional 40. En sus plazas se realiza cada dos semanas el remate ganadero, donde los principales criadores ofrecen al público bellos ejemplares, principalmente de la raza Cebú.
Puerto López es conocido además por su importancia fluvial, al punto de ser nombrado Capital Fluvial del Departamento, gracias a que por sus tierras atraviesa el río Meta, un río ideal para los deportes náuticos, avistamiento de aves, delfines y pesca deportiva.
A unos pocos kilómetros de la cabecera municipal, en el alto de Menegua, se encuentra su principal atractivo turístico, la nueva Torre Mirador Matapalo y el obelisco que indica el centro geográfico del país, “El Ombligo de Colombia”.

El Mejor Atardecer de Colombia, Puerto Gaitán!!!!
Nos dijeron que veríamos los mejores amaneceres y atardeceres de Colombia y no se equivocaron.
Pero no solo vivimos esa maravilla, también navegamos sobre sus tres rios: Meta, Manacacias y Yucao, y en la confluencia de estos tres, avistamos delfines rosados o toninas mientras que en las bocas del Manacacias vimos aves y reptiles.
Puerto Gaitán es el municipio más llanero del Meta y nos llevaron a vivir el trabajo de llano, para eso nos alimentaron como debe ser.
Es otro mundo, pero un mundo en donde encontramos personas amorosas y cálidas que se encargaron de enamorarnos de este Paraiso Natural.
Cuando puedan hacer este viaje no lo duden, Puerto Gaitán es un destino que merece la pena descubrir.

Un video de varios días y algo de contenido playero, casi por casualidad terminamos recorriendo la ciudad costera de Puerto Lopez, fuimos específicamente a ver ballenas jorobadas y es lo que hicimos.
De puerto Lopez continuamos nuestro viaje a Montañita en donde estuvimos algunos días, recorrimos, tomamos algunos tragos en los puestos callejeros pero el clima y la época del año que fuimos, no ayudaron.
Finalmente seguimos ruta para volver a Guayaquil y dar por cerrada la parte continental del viaje.

Swiming with the Turtles - Puerto Lopez, Ecuador
Puerto Lopez - Ecuador
Located on the coast of Ecuador, about 8 hours from Quito. This town is a very small town, yet pack with lots of restaurants and full attractions. We stayed at an Airbnb which it only cost $32 for two night and it was just a block away from the beach. The day we arrived was a bit late so we pretty much enjoyed the nightlife since the adventure was first thing in the morning.
Saturdays on Puerto Lopez is the fish market day. Fishermen come early in the morning to deliver and sale their catch and honestly it is fairly cheap. A lobster cost about $12 each and trust me I wanted 3 of them…
We book our scuba diving trip with Fondo Azul, own by two twin brothers, they have been scuba diving for over 15 years and it was such a great experience since we were the only ones scuba diving that day.
My goal was to find some sharks to swim with but instead, we came across some sea turtles!! Even thought this turtles are huge, they are fairly quick swimmers. I tried my best to catch up to one of the turtles so I could hold on to the shell but no way he/she was going to let me because it took off so fast.
Ecuador is full of adventures! You can plan your trip to the ocean/beach or go to a jungle trek but also you can hike some of the highest mountains in South America. Make sure to go out there and explore the world! Happy travels!
