Things to do in Mallorca: Hams Caves, Porto Cristo: Two of the most popular Mallorca days out or top Mallorca attractions on the east coast of the island are the cave formations you can visit in Porto Cristo. The two main ones are the Caves of Hams and the Caves of Drach. We visited the Caves of Hams (Cuervas Hams).

The Caves of Ham were discovered in 1905 and an unusual element to Mallorca's landscape. It's also a great place to get underground in Majorca and see these amazing cave formations and learn about the history surrounding them. A trip to the Caves of Hams re also a great escape from the midday sun.

Walking in Porto Cristo after visiting Drach caves. Porto Cristo is a small fishing village on the east coast of Mallorca. Porto Cristo means ‘Port of Christ’. It is one of the popular quiet, laid-back and family-oriented seaside resorts on the island. The picturesque harbour town is located in a bay between beautiful cliffs. One of the main attractions in Porto Cristo is the Dragon Caves (Drach Caves). There are many shops, cafes, restaurants, etc here, near the promenade/beach/port/marina. Placa del Carmen is a nice square not far from the beach of Porto Cristo. This beautiful old small church is called ‘Mare de Deu del Carmen’, located in the town centre. The port area where you can find many eating places too. There is a wide range of cuisines on offer, from local to international fare. There are boat cruises travelling from Porto Cristo to nearby coves. See sailing yachts and fishing boats. The main beach is Porto Cristo Beach, a blue flag sandy beach with turquoise and crystal clear water. It is a small beach, approximately 300m long, but beautiful, located near the port/marina. It extends from the marina up to a steep rock face on the east side.

Porto Cristo was once one of the main tourist resorts on the east coast of Mallorca before it was overtaken by Cala Millor. The port is one of the main attractions as there are many local restaurants located in beautiful locations. The beach in Porto Cristo has a blue flag, clear turquoise water and is suitable for families with children. Porto Cristo has an excellent location at the end of a long, sheltered bay with a sandy beach and beautiful rocks. Visitors who need a change from the beach life can take one of the many boat trips or head to the popular dragon caves. Today we invite you to a beautiful walking tour in Porto Cristo Mallorca in Spain.

Porto Cristo – or Portocristo – is a little, picturesque fishing village on the east coast of Mallorca. It takes advantage of its superb position at the end of a long, sheltered bay featuring a blue flag sandy beach with lovely turquoise waters and has carved out a role as a laidback, family-friendly resort.

Porto Cristo comprises a blend of ancient stone houses and more modern villas with plenty of character. It’s now hard to believe that it was once one of the main tourist resorts on the east coast of Mallorca, a situation that changed when the large commercial tourist resort of Cala Millor came along. The port is the main attraction here as it's where many local restaurants, perfectly placed to catch the lunchtime sun, are located.

Porto Cristo is an attractive summer getaway destination for British, German and Scandinavian tourists. Even if you don't base yourself here on your holiday, we would highly recommend a visit to its legendary Dragon Caves (Cuevas del Drach), which day-trippers come in droves to visit.

Welcome to Cuevas del Drach; Dragon Cave, in one of the most visited places on the island of Mallorca. The Cuevas del Drach are four large caves located in Porto Cristo in the Balearic Islands of Spain. The Cuevas del Drach extend to a depth of 25 m and reach a length of approximately 4 km. The caves were discovered in 1338 and there are four of them. They are called the Black Cave, the White Cave, the Cave of Luis Salvador and the Cave of the French, and they are interconnected. The caves are open to the public for a fee and are one of Mallorca's main tourist attractions. The visit usually ends with a concert of classical music performed by a small orchestra of musicians on a fleet of small rowboats. You will receive a free leaflet at the entrance.
