Lucayan National Park where you'll find Ben's cave and Gold Rock Beach sit in the same location. So, if you visit one, be sure to make time to see them both. This is definitely on of the BEST Things to do in Grand Bahama
Ben's Cave is one of the two inland blue holes within The Lucayan National Park. This natural feature is definitely a sight to see. The clear upper portion of the water within the cave is fresh. It floats on top of the lower saltwater. The passages within this cavern system extend horizontally for thousands of yards and it is deemed to be one of the longest surveyed cavern systems in the world. If you want to dive here, you must be accompanied by an authorized dive instructor. During the dive, a showcase of interesting features will be on display such as stalactites, stalagmites, a halocline, fossilized conch shells, bivalves, & more.
Lucayan National Park is a 40 acres. It was established in 1977. It the most popular of the islands 3 parks. It incorporates one of the largest underwater cave systems in the world, with two caves open to the public. Swimming in the caves is prohibited, and a special permit is required for diving. Nature trails & boardwalks lead to a variety of ecosystems. .
Gold Rock Beach is part of The Lucayan National Park. The beach is located 25 miles from Freeport. The beach is breath taking stretching for what seems like the length of a football field at low tide and... the beach is secluded. This beach is referred to as Grand Bahama Island's welcome mat. There are BBQ pits, picnic tables and benches here, but no other amenities. North of the beach (across the street) are the Lucayan Caverns, the world's longest surveyed underground cave system.

Sailing Rum Cay and Conception Island With Friends - Episode 24
We pick up some good friends of ours in George Town, then sail to some of the smaller islands near the southern Exumas.
We spend a day in Calabash Bay on Long Island catching up with cruiser friends, then we head off for a day of sailing over to Rum Cay. I swam with SHARKS in the BAHAMAS ???????? - Most Exciting Shore Excursion in Nassau
In November 2022, I went to Steve to the Bahamas for holiday. During this trip, we went on an excursion with Stuart Cove's Diving for a snorkelling tour.
The tour visits 3 sites for snorkelling, and because they chose site from the South Coast of New Providence island, the water is a lot calmer than that of the North Coast, which is where most hotels and resorts are.
The biggest highlight of this tour is the chance to snorkel with sharks. You do not HAVE do this part if you are nervous, but as you can see in the video, they manage the safety of everyone, and sharks do not actually attack humans normally.
In addition to snorkelling trips, they also run scuba diving trips, and on snorkelling trips, you can actually do snuba too. It costs a bit more than just snorkeling, but not that much more.

Nassau & Paradise Island are twin islands in the Bahamas and joined by two bridges. Go through for complete tourism information of both Nassau and Paradise Island.
Flight duration between Miami (Florida) and Nassau is only around 3 hours while there are regular short overnight cruises from ports in the US, UK, Canada.
Nassau is known for its vibrant Bahamian life with several popular beaches and beachfront resorts, water activities, traditional Bahamian food such as fresh conch salads & fritters, duty-free shopping, great nightlife including casinos and bars, etc. Paradise Island on the other hand is dominated by Atlantis Resorts that has created a world of its own including a sprawling water park, super large walk-in aquarium, casino, marina, boutique shopping and many fine-dining venues & bars.

Florida Powerboat Club explores Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas after a long absence due to Hurricane Dorian's destruction in 2019. The adventure begins at West End, where Stu tours an abandoned marine resort project, then takes the FPC members on a trip to Port Lucaya, a once-popular destination for FPC in the club's earlier years.
