Norwich in the 1960s

#Norwich #Norfolk #the1960s #Nostalgia #redevelopment #digitisedcinefilm

Norwich during the early 1960s

The video was originally shot using a 8mm Cine Camera and digitally converted using a Winait Film Scanner.

The film shows Norwich during the early 1960s, in the spring and winter. There is a part which shows May 1964. Several parts of the City Centre are shown as it was 60 years ago plus the start of the St Stephens Redevelopment. For those who like old cars - there are many featured in this film.

This film should be of interest to those who know Norwich of old and new!

Please comment below how it has changed in the past 60 years.

Norwich To Bramerton By Boat #tourism #2021 #boating

Norwich To Bramerton By Boat

Hi everyone,

Today I was out on the water. I travelled in a day boat from Norwich to just past Bramerton. I started at Thorpe Green in Norwich and heading into the centre of Norwich up as far as Bishops Bridge before turning around. Along the way, I passed Colman’s factory, numerous riverside properties, Foundry Bridge, the Yacht Station, Pulls Ferry and Bishops Bridge. Then down, to just past the Waters Edge Pub at Bramerton , to the Ferry Inn opposite Postwick. Here we turned around and headed back to our base in Thorpe Green.

I often have people ask, if they can send me something as a “thank you” for the videos I make. For ages I always said “no there’s no need to” but several of you didn’t agree ????, so after discussions , it was decided I would start a “Day Boat Fund”. Today’s video is made from this very fund. A huge Thank You to Andrew, Bob, Shirley and Kate, who’s very kind gifts have paid for today’s trip.
(I’ve asked each one individually how much of their name they wish to share, if any, and each of them was happy for me to share their first names).

If you have enjoyed this video , please give it a like. Perhaps you would like to subscribe to my channel. You can also share any of my videos to your Facebook pages. All of this helps me reach a greater audience.

Don’t forget I have a second Norfolk Broads channel called : NewName SameMe
