Great Falls Park, Virginia - AMAZING Waterfalls & Hiking Trails
In this video tour, we show you the stunning Great Falls Park in Virginia, an 800-acre park only 15 miles from Washington, DC. Great Falls Park in Virginia offers majestic waterfalls, fifteen miles of hiking trails, and beautiful views of the Potomac River and Mather Gorge.
Hiking at Great Falls Park offers something for everyone. There are three spacious waterfall lookouts, two of which are wheelchair-accessible. Some of the prettiest northern Virginia hikes can be found here.
Take in the view of Great Falls Park from the opposite side of the river from C&O Canal National Historic Park in Maryland.

Certain foods are intuitive to eat, like popcorn or a burger. You just grab them and go. Other dishes take more effort and precision, like Maryland’s famous steamed blue crabs. At first glance, the delicacy can be intimidating to the uninitiated. There are the seemingly impenetrable shell and beady little eyes to avoid.
To clear up confusion about how to eat Maryland blue crabs, we went to Baltimore to talk to Damye Hahn, whose family has owned Faidley’s Seafood Market since 1886. Housed in the historical Lexington Market, Faidley’s is a Maryland seafood institution best known for its award-winning lump crab cakes. But visitors can get their crab in a lot of ways at Faidley’s. Beyond the lump crab cake, there’s crab soup, soft-shell crab sandwiches and steamed crabs, among other preparations.

The Most Scenic Trail In Maryland! - The Billy Goat Trail and Great Falls of the Potomac
DO THIS HIKE! Located just outside of Washington DC, exists the most popular trail in Maryland, and for good reason. Here you have the third most powerful waterfall in the United States, leading into a sheer rocky gorge as the Potomac River crashes over the fall line on its way to the Chesapeake Bay. River Islands thrust out from the water like miniature mountains, speckled with grizzled pines that seem to grow out of bare rock. The area teams with bird species of all types and unique flora and fauna. The setting felt utterly out of place in Eastern Maryland and more attuned to a western landscape. Just downstream of the Great Falls begins the Billy Goat Trail which hugs the rivers edge, weaving up, over, and around ancient weathered boulders. Seasonal vernal pools hotbeds of amphibian life can be seen from the trail as well as many wildflowers and unique plant species. This trail has it all. Views, wildlife, unique ecosystem, and ease of accessibility. As a result the trail is VERY popular. This trail is considered a rock scramble with one technical section - the traverse - but is certainly manageable for even the fairly inexperienced hiker. I simply LOVED this trail and look forward to seeing it again during a different season.

McKee Beshers WMA Sunflower Fields in Poolesville (Montgomery County) Maryland
Just a simple video to show you the beautiful summer sunflower that bloomed in the sunflower field at the McKee Beshers Wildlife Management Area in Poolesville, Maryland.
Don’t sunflowers bring you so much joy? I feel they have the scent of summer. And what better way to kick off this summer season than with a sunflower field video!
This sunflower farm is open to the public and is free (donations preferred) to enter. Gates close at dusk. It’s quite a lonely area, so take care when bringing kids to this sunflower field.
The location of this sunflower field is in the quiet town of Poolesville in Maryland.
Exact google location - 16898-16500 River Rd, Poolesville, MD 20837
There are 2-3 sunflower fields in the area, all belonging to McKee Beshers. You can explore any of them.
You’d want to go right when the blooms start because these sunflowers last for 2-3 weeks max. I’ve gone there late and missed a perfectly good bloom, only to be greeted with drooping sunflowers.

John Poole House
Built in 1793, the John Poole House is the oldest structure in Poolesville, MD. It began as a trading post, and later also served as the post office for this emerging crossroads village. By 1860, Poolesville was the second largest town in Montgomery County. Today, because of it’s large collection of historic buildings, Poolesville is recognized as a National Register Historic District.
The John Poole House started it all and has been preserved by Historic Medley District. They offer tours and other events to help visitors learn more about it’s history, as well as Poolesville’s heritage.

POOLESVILLE DAY 2015 ADVENTURE
I explored the small town of Poolesville Maryland MD for its 2015 Poolesville Day Celebration. The day started with an amazing parade down main street. There were live local bands playing music. I visited local historic civil war sites like The John Poole House and the Old Town Hall Bank. I ate at the famous Bassett's Restaurant in the middle of town. The cute baby farm animals were running all round their pens. Poolesville is known for its top ranked public high school and great tourist landmark attractions.
