25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.

It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.

Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.

Well, so what did you think of the city?

It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.

And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!

Poble Sec in 6 minutes- Barcelona District to District

Discover the Poble Sec neighbourhood in 6 minutes.

We want to show you Barcelona neighborhood by neighborhood, so we sent Asier Suescun to talk to the residents. Locals and foreign people living in the neighborhood offer the information and motivation you need to go to get to know and stay in the Poble Sec area.

Poble Sec is a neighbourhood that allows you to stay by the centre but away from the noisy tourist crowds. A zone that today mixes daily life of the locals with new residents from different parts of the world.

It's principal point of attraction is its proximity to Montjuïc. In a few minutes you can leave the bustle of the city and escape to a natural setting with parks and lovely views

Paral·lel is the avenue that borders it, full of theatres and protagonist of Barcelona's nightlife since the turn of the 20th Century.

Weekends bring people who come here to eat and drink along streets such as Carrer Blai and Blesa, dotted with terraces and Pintxo bars.

We use a tailor-made map to show you the history of the neighbourhood and the most unmissable locations.

What do you think? Will you visit? Watch the video and let us know.

????El Poble-sec????

Pueblo Seco (officially and in Catalan [the] Poble-sec and in English [the] Dry Town) is a neighborhood of the district Barcelona in Sants-Montjuïc.
El Pueblo Seco is about 70 hectares in size and is located in the space between the Montjuic mountain and the Parallel Avenue.

The Dry Town coast, as a natural port, was used as a port of the city by Iberians and Romans, and had an access road to the city. The port was used routinely until the 10th century and sporadically until the 14th century . At the beginning of the 13th century , extra-wall ships were already being built between the Cagadell and Montjuïc torrent , on land where Jaime I of Aragon prohibited the construction of new houses and demolished the existing ones. During the reign of Pedro III de Aragón between the years 1275 and 1285 , the construction ofRoyal Shipyards of Barcelona , which consisted of a large rectangular-walled building that was open on the sea side, framing a large central courtyard uncovered, with four towers at its angles, of which two still exist.
It was, in fact, the first expansion in Barcelona, prior to the one projected by Ildefonso Cerdá . The walls of Barcelona were removed in 1854 and the Ensanche plan was approved five years later, but the owners still took a few years to build, due to the reluctance against Ildefonso Cerdá's project. The lands located in the part closest to the sea at the foot of the Montjuich mountain were not included in the Ensanche plan and, therefore, were not subject to urban limitations. From 1858 the owners began to divide them according to their convenience and to build simple houses for workers. This is how the neighborhoods of França Xica arose ,Santa Madrona and the Huertas de San Beltrán , later grouped under the generic name of Pueblo Seco.
El Pueblo Seco is a humble neighborhood but at the same time privileged in the city for its physical location and also for the cultural miscegenation experienced in its streets since ancient times. Nestled between the Montjuich mountain, the Port of Barcelona and next to the oldest and most central core of Barcelona. Formerly it was a territory of cultivation and orchards wedged between the mountain and the wall that protected the city, therefore it was located outside the walls.

????Parc de la Primavera????

The Spring Park (in English) is located on the Montjuic mountain , in the Sants-Montjuic district of Barcelona . It was created in 2007 with a project by Patrizia Falcone . This park was conceived with criteria of self-sufficiency and sustainability, one of the basic premises in the creation of green areas in Barcelona today, such as the Can Rigal , Torrent Maduixer and Rieres d'Horta parks .
It is located between the Pueblo Seco neighborhood and the northern slope of the Montjuïc mountain , next to the Mirador del Poble Sec park . It is an area with a steep drop, resolved through a series of ramps and stairs. Under the ground of the park is a waste treatment center, the South Zone Cleaning Park, the work of architects Eileen Liebman , Fernando Villavecchia and Mireia Comajuncosa , already built with the intention of placing a green area on top. Several chimneys of this complex protrude from the roof of the building and are harmoniously integrated into the upper garden, as decorative elements of the park.
The vegetation is typically Mediterranean, among which white pines , poplars and willows stand out . The park has a children's play area and another for dogs, and houses an ambulatory, CAP Les Hortes. In its enclosure are the remains of a bomb shelter from the Civil War. (from Wikipedia)
