In this content we will go fromo Mompóx, Colombia ???????? sailing by the channels of the Magdalena river to the Pijiño marsh in a total nature boat ride.
Santa Cruz de Mompox is situated in the department of Bolívar, Colombia ???????? over the shores of a branch of the Magdalena river and very important to the Spanish crown in colonial times (1530's to 1822) as it was an obligued layover on the journeys that conquistadores, travelers , passengers, gold and merchandises took up or down the Magdalena river, which is the most important fluvial artery of Colombia.
Mompox is surrounded by nature and it has remained like kind of connected to the river and to the water in a mystical way.
One of the destinations you should know in Colombia if you are interested in colonial architecture is this location. And the other thing you have to do when at Mompox is to hop on on one of the boats that offer the service of going by these channels you see here to the cienaga de Pijiño.
