Walking in KAUFBEUREN / Germany ????????- Old Town in Allgäu - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Kaufbeuren is a town in Bavaria. Surrounded by the district of Ostallgäu the old town has the typical Bavarian flair with winding alleys.
We start our tour (October 2020) in the old town near the salt market and circle the St. Martins Church. We walk a bit towards the eastern edge of the old town with larger streets with more traffic. There we get to the Art Hall (Kunsthalle) with the Sywollenturm. We walk a bit further north along the old city walls, which was built in around 1200. We slip right through a small door in that wall back into the old town.
We check out more streets around the fruit market (Obstmarkt) and are back at the Kaiser-Max-Straße which leads us to the town hall. The Fünfknopfturm - a major attraction of Kaufbeuren on a hill - was closed so we have to skip the climb for another visit. The main parts of the old town however were now all visited so as an extra we once again head out of the city center. This time walk south .. to get back to the city hall once more from a different direction.
At last we leave the old town behind. On our way back to the train station we basically head for the city park. We reach that nice little park after a few minutes, where we end our Kaufbeuren tour.

►What is HDR?
‘HDR’ stands for 'High Dynamic Range'. The term originates in photography, and refers to a technique to heighten a picture’s dynamic range – the contrast levels between the brightest whites and the darkest blacks. High-Dynamic Range (HDR) refers to the ability of a monitor to display a wider range of contrast ratio and color than an Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) display. This means the display is capable of richer blacks and brighter bright colors, resulting in an image that is closer to real life.

GERMANY: Füssen town & castle, Allgäu/Bavaria 4K
Füssen is a town in Bavaria, Germany, in the district of Ostallgäu (East Allgäu), situated one kilometre from the Austrian border. The town is known for violin manufacturing. The castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are located nearby. Füssen is located on the banks of the Lech River, which flows into the Forggensee.
The High Castle (German: Hohes Schloss), 13th-16th century, is the former summer residence of the prince-bishops of Augsburg. It houses a branch gallery of the Bavarian State Collections of Paintings, which focuses on late Gothic and Renaissance works of art.
St. Mang's Abbey (German: Kloster Sankt Mang Füssen) was a Benedictine monastery, below the Hohes Schloss, founded in the 9th century and dissolved during the post-Napoleonic secularisation of Bavaria.
The Museum of Füssen is located in the southwest wing of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang, which was built in the early 18th century under the architect Johann Jakob Herkomer after Venetian model. The museum displays the history of the abbey and the town, particularly of the traditional manufacture of lutes and violins in Füssen. It is also possible to view the Baroque reception rooms of the abbey in the museum.

Welcome to a new video here at the Allgäu region after a while. For today's video I thought a tour through to the village Ottobeuren must be and there especially to visit the famous Basilica both its Benediktiner Abbey. Find out more in my video what is happened to see at a small and more unknown village but with a large Basilica and Abbey.
The trip to Ottobeuren and its Benediktiner Abbey:
I visited Ottobeuren at a day in wintertime 2024. I'm a big fan of the Allgäu region and knew the Basilica and Abbey from the past. I went step by step into the Basilica and after them to some floors behind the main hall of the church. The Abbey had a high number of floors and rooms to see. But nearly all floors where empty and quiet like a Abbey have to be. After my tour into the Basilica and Abbey I explained what is also good to experience here at Ottobeuren. Good to taste is the food in restaurants around the marking place and for sweet food lovers the famous Allgäu Windbeutel.
The full trip was a comeback to the Allgäu region after one year.
About the Allgäu region:
The Allgäu region is an area at the south part of Germany at the west part of the federal state Bavaria in front of the Bavarian Alps. The Allgäu begun at the big lake called “Bodensee” at the west part and has its end at the “Hoher Peißenberg” next to the town Schongau. At the north part the Allgäu has its end around the town Landberg am Lech. The region is known for its beautiful view to the mountains, the original brown cows and for some kind of food. The capital is the town called Kempten. The region has also an Airport at Memmingen which is also known as the Munich west Airport. Many of the German people use the Allgäu region for going on holyday and the people who live there for the farmer industry.
Ottobeuren and its Basilica both the Benediktiner Abbey:
Ottobeuren is a town at the middle part of the Allgäu region next to the town Memmingen. The small town has a population of 8790 together with all districts and counties. The building which Ottobeuren is famous for is its large Benedictine Abbey with its Basilica. The inside hall of the Basilica is a typical Rococo style and complete with the buildings of the Abbey. The area is used sometimes for concerts from the Bavarian TV, weddings as well. The Abbey, the Basilica are one of the biggest buildings at the entire Allgäu region.
