Albufera derives from the Arabic word small sea.
Valencia’s Albufera region is one of the largest and most valuable coastal wetlands to the Valencian community. In 1986 it was declared a Natural Park. Albufera plays an extremely important role towards the environment as many species nearing extinction habitat its lands, such as the toothed carp fish.
The natural biodiversity of the nature reserve allows a great variety of flora and fauna to thrive and be observed year-round. Though once a saltwater lagoon, dilution due to irrigation and canals draining into the estuary and the sand bars increasing in size had converted it to freshwater by the seventeenth century.

GO BACK TO THE MIDDLE AGES WITH ONTINYENT MEDIEVAL MARKET 2022 | SPANISH CULTURE |PINAY IN SPAIN
Ontinyent goes back in time with one of the most famous medieval markets of the Costa Blanca. This year, Ontinyent Medieval will have 100 artisan places craft and food stands, which will be set up along Carrer del Regall to Plaza de Baix.
Additional features will be an Arab souk and Artisan market with stands demonstrating traditional arts with blacksmiths, knife sharpener and esparto specialists or carvers.
Some programmed activities are parades, workshops, medieval music, combat exhibitions, juggling and traditional games.

This town isn't a far train from Ontinyent and was a great day trip! The train was 8 euro round trip, the bus to the castle was only 1 euro up and 1 euro down (you could walk but... no.) and the castle entrance fee was only 6 euro. The perfect inexpensive day trip when you haven't been paid yet. And of course McDonalds because Ontinyent doesn't have one haha!
I wanted to love this video but unfortunately my gimbal wasn't tight and it had the opposite effect it was supposed to so it's shaky. And I panned way too fast. So sorry and I'll try to do better next time. I'm learning! :)
Here is the link to the Castell de Xàtiva website if you're interested. It was only 6 euros and the bus to get there is only 1 euro.
Xativa as a city was very nice. I definitely want to go back and see more historical stuff.

Pou Clar, Ontinyent (Valencia)
Visitamos las pozas de Pou Clar en Ontinyent (Valencia), lugar que pertenece a la Sierra de l'Ombria-Pou Clar y por el que transcurre el río Clariano, el cual se forma en Bocairent y desemboca en el río Albaida.

DESCRIPCIÓN
El Pou Clar es el paraje fluvial más importante del municipio y alberga importantes valores naturales y paisajísticos. El río Clariano nace allí mismo y en sus primeros metros configura un seguido de pozos excavados por el agua sobre roca calcárea conformando un paisaje bien singular de formas redondeadas y de tranquilas láminas de agua. La fuerte vinculación de este paraje con la población local ha hecho que cada pozo tenga un nombre, de arriba a abajo se llaman “Pou dels Esclaus”, ”Pou Clar”, “Pou Gelat”, “Pou de la Reixa”, “Pou Fosc” y “Pou dels Cavalls”.

RECOMENDACIONES
Si quieres disfrutar del paraje es aconsejable visitarlo de octubre a abril, sobretodo si deseas visitarlo con tu mascota.
Por lo contrario si lo que quieres es pegarte un chapuzón debes tener en cuenta que a partir de el 1 de julio hasta el 31 de agosto debes reservar tú asistencia con cita previa.
OBSERVACIONES
No se puede acceder con vehículo motorizado
A pie. El aparcamiento más próximo se encuentra a la piscina cubierta de Ontinyent; otra opción es el aparcamiento del Campus Universitario de Ontinyent. Ambos son gratuitos.Después habrá que recorrer dos kilómetros aproximadamente para llegar al paraje del Pou Clar.
En bicicleta. Puedes acceder con tu bicicleta. El Pou Clar dispone de un punto de aparcamiento para bicicletas
Autobús. Los fines de semana de julio y agosto el Ayuntamiento de Ontinyent proporcionar áun servicio gratuito de autobús que nos llevará desde el Polideportivo hasta la cercanía del Pou Clar.
Horarios bus Pou Clar sábados y domingos de julio y agosto:
•Polideportivo → Pou Clar
•10:00 H •13:20 H •17:00 H •19:50 H
•Pou Clar → Polideportivo
•10:10 H •13:30 H •17:10 H •20:00 H
Permanecerán cerrados los accesos por la escala, por Galindo y por la rampa. Solo se podrá acceder por la senda de l'Alba.
Accesibilidad: Espacio natural no adaptado a personas con movilidad reducida.

I recommend this area for some winter hiking. This was January and during the 3 weeks it was mainly sunny 20 Celsius. Also had a day out in nearby Benidorm, good place to party and live music.
The vultures are Griffon vultures that have been introduced into the area in recent years. Also a lot of wild goat
