Uzbekistan (UK: /ʊzˌbɛkɪˈstɑːn, ʌz-, -ˈstæn/, US: /ʊzˈbɛkɪstæn, -stɑːn/;[11][12] Uzbek: Oʻzbekiston pronounced [ozbekiˈstɒn]), officially Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbek: Oʻzbekiston Respublikasi), is a country in Central Asia. It is bordered by five landlocked countries: Kazakhstan to the north; Kyrgyzstan to the northeast; Tajikistan to the southeast; Afghanistan to the south; and Turkmenistan to the southwest. Along with Liechtenstein, it is one of only two doubly landlocked countries.
As a sovereign state, Uzbekistan is a secular, unitary constitutional republic. It comprises 12 provinces and one autonomous republic. The capital and largest city of Uzbekistan is Tashkent.
What is now Uzbekistan was in ancient times part of the Iranian-speaking region of Transoxiana and Turan. The first recorded settlers were Eastern Iranian nomads, known as Scythians, who founded kingdoms in Khwarezm (8th–6th centuries BC), Bactria (8th–6th centuries BC), Sogdia (8th–6th centuries BC), Fergana (3rd century BC – 6th century AD), and Margiana (3rd century BC – 6th century AD). The area was incorporated into the Iranian Achaemenid Empire and, after a period of Macedonian Greek rule, was ruled by the Iranian Parthian Empire and later by the Sasanian Empire, until the Arab conquest of Iran in the 7th century. The Muslim conquest in the 7th century converted the majority of the population, including the local ruling classes, into adherents of Islam. During this period, cities such as Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara began to grow rich from the Silk Road, and witnessed the emergence of leading figures of the Islamic Golden Age, including Muhammad al-Bukhari, Al-Tirmidhi,al-Biruni, and Avicenna. The local Khwarezmian dynasty, and Central Asia as a whole, were decimated by the Mongol invasion in the 13th century. After the Mongol Conquests, the area became increasingly dominated by Turkic peoples. The city of Shahrisabz was the birthplace of the Turco-Mongol conqueror Tamerlane (Timur), who in the 14th century established the Timurid Empire and was proclaimed the Supreme Emir of Turan with his capital in Samarkand, which became a world centre of science under the rule of Ulugh Beg, giving birth to the Timurid Renaissance. The territories of the Timurid dynasty were conquered by Uzbek Shaybanids in the 16th century, moving the centre of power from Samarkand to Bukhara. The region was split into three states: Khanate of Khiva, Khanate of Kokand, and Emirate of Bukhara. Conquests by Emperor Babur towards the East led the foundation of India's proto-industrialised Mughal Empire. It was gradually incorporated into the Russian Empire during the 19th century, with Tashkent becoming the political center of Russian Turkestan. In 1924, after national delimitation, the constituent republic of the Soviet Union known as the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic was created. Following the break-up of the Soviet Union, it declared independence as the Republic of Uzbekistan on 31 August 1991.

Qirqqiz buloq spring located southeast of the Qirqqiz village, 6 km away from industrial city of Almalyk. The name, according to legends, appeared after the enemy attacked the village. To get rid of dishonor, the girls turned to the Creator, so that he turned them into fish. Since then, the lake has been called Qirqqiz. Qirqqiz buloq is a recent name, earlier it was called Kulota. To the west, directly on the shore of the lake, there is an archaeological site - the ruins of medieval Kulota settlement.

Qorihona is the mysterious zoroastrian temple with 2000 year`s history, which is located in remote mountainous area near to the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border, 26 kilometer away from Almalyk city, on the route to Kouldi gold mining field. There is no information about this place. Only some teories. Till 2016, entering the perimeters of Qorihona was prohibited by Uzbekistan government. Even, after lifting the restrictions, still only few people visit there. So, this episode, which is created by Uzbek Tales team is the very first and only exclusive video about Qorihona on the web.

Chilla is a spiritual practice of penance and solitude in Sufism known mostly in Indian and Persian traditions. In this ritual a mendicant or ascetic attempts to remain seated in a circle practicing meditation techniques without food for 40 days and nights in imitation of the Arba'een. The word chilla is derived from the Persian word chehel forty. Chilla is commonly performed in a solitary cell called a chilla-khana. A practice similar to chilla is also performed by Hindustani classical music practitioners at an advanced level. It is called chilla katna. The musicians lock themselves up in a chilla-khana for forty days and practice their instrument severely. A special diet, often omitting meat and grains, is taken during this period and very little food is eaten. Any contact to the outside world is avoided during this period. It is done to achieve a very high level of skill, that cannot be achieved due to normal regular practice.
Чилла - это духовная практика покаяния и уединения в суфизме, известная в основном в индийских и персидских традициях. В этом ритуале аскет пытается сидеть в кругу, практикуя техники медитации без еды в течение 40 дней и ночей, подражая Арбаин. Слово чилла происходит от персидского слова чехел «сорок». Чилла обычно проводится в одиночной камере, называемой чилла-хана. Практика, подобная чилле, также выполняется на продвинутом уровне практиками классической музыки хиндустани. Это называется чилла катна. Музыканты запираются в чилла-хане на сорок дней и серьезно занимаются своим инструментом. В этот период соблюдается особая диета, часто без мяса и злаков, при этом потребляется очень мало еды. В этот период следует избегать любых контактов с внешним миром. Это делается для достижения очень высокого уровня мастерства, которого нельзя достичь при обычной регулярной практике.

Historical and natural landmark Parpiata is located 4 km west of the Imlak settlement (10-11 km east of Almalyk). The object of veneration was considered a separate rock. Some scientists believed that a layer of Paleozoic limestone descending to the river turned out to be bizarrely washed out in the form of a gap between a spur and a rock-pillar of irregular shape.

Angren, city, eastern Uzbekistan. It lies on the left bank of the Akhangaran River, 115 km east of Tashkent. The center of the Uzbekistan coal industry, it was created in 1946 from mining settlements that had grown up in the rich Angren coal basin during World War II. Angren has a power station and a rubber-fabricating plant. A pedagogical institute and a museum are located in the city. Angren regional history museum is created in 1960. Since then is open for visitors.
Ангрен, город, расположенный в восточном Узбекистане. Он расположен на левом берегу реки Ахангаран, в 115 км к востоку от Ташкента. Как центр угольной промышленности Узбекистана, он был создан в 1946 году из шахтерских поселений, выросших в богатом угольном бассейне Ангрена во время Второй мировой войны. В Ангрене есть электростанция и резинотехнический завод. В городе расположены педагогический институт и музей. Ангренский краеведческий музей создан в 1960 году. С тех пор открыт для посетителей.

Qorihona is the mysterious zoroastrian temple with 2000 year`s history, which is located in remote mountainous area near to the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border, 26 kilometer away from Almalyk city, on the route to Kouldi gold mining field. There is no information about this place. Only some teories. Till 2016, entering the perimeters of Qorihona was prohibited by Uzbekistan government. Even, after lifting the restrictions, still only few people visit there. So, this episode, which is created by Uzbek Tales team is the very first and only exclusive video about Qorihona on the web.
