Odivelas Skatepark in Portugal - Where to skate in Lisbon - Portugal road trip 2018
Spot nº11 - Skateparks and Surf spots from Portugal to Morocco. This week we went to visit one of the oldest skateparks (Torre do Skatepark) in Odivelas, Lisbon. Odivelas skatepark is a smooth concrete park. You have a half pipe with a smooth transition into a bowl. The bowl itself is not very high so it's easy and fun to cruise around and play with the rails. It has a set of stairs, a half pipe and two bowls.
Definitely going back to skate in Torre do Skatepark. :)

The region is located in the western part of Portugal. For tourists, this area is attractive, primarily because of the large number of picturesque resorts. The Riviera is visited annually by hundreds of thousands of tourists. However, Lisbon is interesting not only for beach holidays, but also for excursions.
Capital
The administrative center of the region is the capital of the country - Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Europe.
Nature
The climate in the region is set by the Atlantic Ocean: it is warm and quite windy here. The nature of Lisbon is not limited to sandy beaches, seascapes and bizarre cliffs. There are many nature reserves buried in greenery with a variety of flora and fauna on its territory. Beautiful places are not only striking in their scale, but also of great value for science.
Main cities: Porto, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongu
Porto is located at the mouth of the Douro River, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The city is famous for its gastronomy; the best restaurants in Portugal are located here. Its image is made up of a labyrinth of narrow and winding streets with houses of bright colors, lively and friendly. In the heart of the city, you can touch medieval relics built on ancient Roman foundations. The town is relatively small, its population is just over 200 thousand inhabitants.
Matosinhos is an industrial port city north of Porto. However, its center is not replete with concrete industrial buildings, it is rather a calm and poor province. Despite some dilapidation of historical buildings, the true Portuguese flavor can be felt here, where visitors and tourists are not hunted. Here life goes on as usual.
Gondomar is quite small, its population is just over 170 thousand inhabitants. The city lies on the right bank of the Douro River. Among the architectural treasures of the city are magnificent baroque churches and an 18th-century manor with a delightful flowering garden. For people with a historical or scientific interest, Gondomar has a forest suitable for secluded walks along the ridges of the mountains.
Valongu is not rich in old buildings with interesting architecture. Basically, the city is famous for slate mining, there is even a slate museum here. Exploring the city during a horseback ride is one of the most popular entertainment for tourists and residents.
What to watch?
Acquaintance with the region should begin with its capital. It is there that those who wish to acquire Portuguese-made things, of high quality and at affordable prices, go. In his Chiado district, there are trendy boutiques with designer items. Souvenirs are better to look for in Baixa, with its many shops and tents.
You can look at a more developed Portugal in Amadora, a city of skyscrapers. Buildings preserved from the 17th and 18th centuries are effectively included in the landscapes of large-scale buildings.

If you are looking for a place in Lisbon to skate, check out Ameixoeira skatepark. This park literally opened a couple of months ago and is definitely worth a visit. There is a street part and a super cool bowl (level easy-intermediate). Francisco Lopez was responsible for the design of the skatepark and is full of lines. We went here today and really enjoyed the flow of the park and will be coming back for sure!
