OÑATI A TOURISTY COUNTY
Oñati (Basque) / Oñate (Spanish) meaning “place of many hills” is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the north of Spain. The town is surrounded on three sides by green mountains on the southern side by the Aloña limestone formation. It enjoyed the status of a villa for centuries until it became a county. It is home to one of the oldest renaissance university buildings on the Iberian peninsula. The town holds its festival which runs from the end of September to the beginning of October. Above the city lies the Sanctuary of Arantzazu, which is known for its pilgrimage to the church.

Tiny Tour | Arantzazu Spain | A Sanctuary sits on a cliff since 15th century |2019 Autumn
The sanctuary of Our Lady of Aránzazu is a Marian Catholic sanctuary located in the municipality of Oñate , in Guipúzcoa , Basque Country ( Spain ), where the Virgin of Aránzazu, patron saint of this province is venerated and that would have appeared in 1469.
The location of the sanctuary is exceptional. It is located just 10 km from the town of Oñate , at the foot of the Urbia camps , in the middle of a succession of ravines and hollows, rocky mountains and small rivers that are lost at the bottom of the valley under the sanctuary building.
Over the centuries Franciscan monks have made of Arantzazu a place for prayers, devotion, pilgrimage and promotion It survived three critical fires (1553, 1622 and 1834) and was subsequently rebuilt three times.
However, in 1951 a new basilica was built instead of continuing with partial restoration and extension works. It was solemn and with imposing presence due to its size, but the builders focused mainly on achieving an artistic and modern expression for which an ideas contest was called.
Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza's and Luis Laorga's winning project had sculptor Jorge Oteiza's mark with his 14 apostles on the façade. The iron gates were designed by sculptor Eduardo Chillida and paintings by Nestor Basterretxea and Lucio Muñoz. of art and culture.

Hondarribia (Fuenterrabía) is a town situated on the west shore of Bidasoa river's mouth, in Gipuzkoa, in Basque Country, Spain. The border town is situated on a little promontory facing Hendaye (France) over the Txingudi bay. A service boat makes the trip between the two cities. The town holds an ancient old quarter with walls and a castle. In addition, Hondarribia features a beach across the Bidasoa from the touristy housing estate Sokoburu in Hendaye, alongside a mountain called Jaizkibel providing a hilly backdrop to the town. A road leads north-east from the beach area to the Cape Higuer, located in this municipality.
Fuenterrabía (en euskera y oficialmente Hondarribia) es una ciudad y municipio del País Vasco, España, situado en el extremo noreste de la provincia de Guipúzcoa, a unos 20 km al este de la capital, San Sebastián, en la desembocadura del río Bidasoa, que hace de frontera natural con Hendaya (Francia). Forma parte de un área metropolitana transfronteriza, la Eurociudad Vasca Bayona-San Sebastián, con más de 620 000 habitantes. Fuenterrabía forma parte de la Eurociudad a través del Consorcio Transfonterizo Bidasoa Txingudi, con las ciudades de Irún y Hendaya. El objetivo de esta cooperación regional es dinamizar proyectos innovadores, atraer inversiones comunes y armonizar un modelo de desarrollo social, territorial y urbano sostenible.

We've decided not to stress about it, just take our time and enjoy the cities we've been passing through. Up next - Zaragoza! We also find a beautiful hot spring to have a little wash and a cheeky naked bathe - who knew being naked was a LEGAL law in Spain! haha LOVE it!
