On the coast, the capital city, Conakry, is home to the modern Grand Mosque and the National Museum, with its regional artifacts. ― Google

GUINEA CONAKRY: A ride through the country to it's capital // EPS 9

A ride through Guinea to it's capital Conakry - with offroad excursions, friendly locals and some adventurous transports!

Saying goodbye to places you fell in love with is the worst part of traveling. But every day offers aw well a new beginning, a new journey, a new adventure. Follow me from the grasslands of Fouta Djallon to Guineas capital Conakry and the border of Sierra Leone.

When we left Labé and the Fouta Djallon region we realized, that even finding an ATM can be quite an adventure in Guinea. After we were able to pay our petrol again we hit some small roads, met friendly locals and went on a night ride to Guinea's capital Conakry to apply for another visa.

//NOTE: videos were recorded before I had a Youtube Channel - initially used for my Instagram stories. That's the reason for the close ups of my face - they were recorded vertically. I still decided to use them - that's the authentic footage I have and I can't change that anymore. Remember: I just started out with filming and cutting - its a learning curve and far from perfect! If you mind seeing my nose hair every now and then, I can highly recommend you to skip this part of the journey and join again when I will publish my next trips after the country Benin with hopefully improved footage!

// Welcome to the journey! I am Lea, a journalist and author and I want to take you with me on a motorcycle overloading adventure to all the wild and beautiful places in the world!

//Join the first stage of my trip around Africa along the coast of Westafrica through 12 countries: Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin.
Time of the journey: November 2019 to Feburary 2020

// I circumnavigated the world solo from 2016-2017 and now I am going to all other places I have not seen yet. Now on the channel: my motorcycle trip around africa/ the first stage of the journey through westafrica.

Guinee Conakry: Gueckedou City visite

Guinee Conakry City

#guinee #guinée #guinea #cartesor #mapsolo #mapschool #mapmind

Ramadan in Guinea

This is the last day of the 30 day long fast of the Muslim holiday, Ramadan, celebrated in the rural town Dinguiraye in Guinea, West Africa. Everyone is dressed in their best, all of the women are on one side, the men on the other, since there are so many people, not everyone can fit in the mosque, so they pray outside. I'm sitting next to Cherif's mom, Kade.

MAP OF GUINEA

greetings my friends. this is a map of Guinea. Guinea shares a border with Guinea-Bissau to the northwest, Senegal to the north, Mali to the northeast, Ivory Coast to the east, Sierra Leone to the southwest and Liberia to the south. The nation forms a crescent as it curves from its southeast region to the north and west, to its northwest border with Guinea-Bissau and southwestern coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The sources of the Niger River, the Gambia River, and the Senegal River are all found in the Guinea Highlands. At 245,857 km2 , Guinea is roughly the size of the United Kingdom. There are 320 km of coastline and a total land border of 3,400 km.

Guinea is also divided into 4 regions: Maritime Guinea, also known as Lower Guinea or the Basse-Coté lowlands, populated mainly by the Susu ethnic group; the cooler, more mountainous Fouta Djallon that run roughly north–south through the middle of the country, populated by Fulas; the Sahelian Haute-Guinea to the northeast, populated by Malinké; and the forested jungle regions in the southeast, with several ethnic groups. Guinea's mountains are the source for the Niger, the Gambia, and Senegal Rivers, and rivers flowing to the sea on the west side of the range in Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast. The highest point in Guinea is Mount Nimba at 1,752 m. While the Guinean and Ivorian sides of the Nimba Massif are a Nature Reserve, the portion of the so-called Guinean Backbone continues into Liberia, where it has been mined for decades; the damage is evident in the Nzérékoré Region.

also, Guinea is home to 5 ecoregions: Guinean montane forests, Western Guinean lowland forests, Guinean forest-savanna mosaic, West Sudanian savanna, and Guinean mangroves. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. good-bye.

map of Guinea [ Africa ]

Guinea (/ˈɡɪni/ (audio speaker iconlisten)), officially the Republic of Guinea (French: République de Guinée), is a coastal country in West Africa. Guinea borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Guinea-Bissau to the northwest, Senegal to the north, Mali to the northeast, Cote d'Ivoire to the southeast, and Sierra Leone and Liberia to the south. Formerly known as French Guinea (French: Guinée française), the modern country is sometimes referred to as Guinea-Conakry after its capital Conakry, to distinguish it from other territories in the eponymous region such as Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. Guinea has a population of 12.4 million and an area of 245,857 square kilometres (94,926 sq mi).

Guinea achieved independence from France in 1958.[14] It has a long history of military coups d'état In 2010, after decades of authoritarian rule, Guinea held its first democratic election. Although Guinea continued to hold multi-party elections, the country continued to face ethnic conflicts, widespread corruption, and abuses by military and police.[19][20] Human rights in Guinea remain a controversial issue. In 2011, the United States government claimed that torture by security forces and abuse of women and children (including female genital mutilation) were ongoing human rights issues. In 2021, a military faction overthrew president Alpha Condé and suspended the constitution.

Guinea is a predominantly Islamic country, with Muslims representing 85 per cent of the population. Guinea's people belong to twenty-four ethnic groups. The country is divided into four geographic regions: Maritime Guinea on the low-lying Atlantic coast, the Fouta Djallon or Middle Guinea highlands, the Upper Guinea savanna region in the northeast, and the Guinée forestière region of tropical forests. French, the official language of Guinea, is the main language of communication in schools, in government administration, and the media, but more than twenty-four indigenous languages are also spoken. The largest are by far Susu, Pular, and Maninka, which dominate respectively in Maritime Guinea, Fouta Djallon, and Upper Guinea, while Guinée forestière is ethnolinguistically diverse.

Guinea's economy is largely dependent on agriculture and mineral production. It is the world's second largest producer of bauxite, and has rich deposits of diamonds and gold. The country was at the core of the 2014 Ebola outbreak. Guinea shares a border with Guinea-Bissau to the north-west, Senegal to the north, Mali to the north-east, Ivory Coast to the east, Sierra Leone to the south-west and Liberia to the south. The nation forms a crescent as it curves from its southeast region to the north and west, to its northwest border with Guinea-Bissau and southwestern coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The sources of the Niger River, the Gambia River, and the Senegal River are all found in the Guinea Highlands.

At 245,857 km2 (94,926 sq mi), Guinea is roughly the size of the United Kingdom. There are 320 km (200 mi) of coastline and a total land border of 3,400 km (2,100 mi). It lies mostly between latitudes 7° and 13°N, and longitudes 7° and 15°W, with a small area that is west of 15°.

Guinea is divided into four main regions: Maritime Guinea, also known as Lower Guinea or the Basse-Coté lowlands, populated mainly by the Susu ethnic group; the cooler, mountainous Fouta Djallon that run roughly north–south through the middle of the country, populated by Fulas; the Sahelian Haute-Guinea to the northeast, populated by Malinké; and the forested jungle regions in the southeast, with several ethnic groups. Guinea's mountains are the source for the Niger, the Gambia, and Senegal Rivers, as well as the numerous rivers flowing to the sea on the west side of the range in Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast.

The highest point in Guinea is Mount Nimba at 1,752 m (5,748 ft). Although the Guinean and Ivorian sides of the Nimba Massif are a UNESCO Strict Nature Reserve, the portion of the so-called Guinean Backbone continues into Liberia, where it has been mined for decades; the damage is quite evident in the Nzérékoré Region at 7°32′17″N 8°29′50″W.

Guinea is home to five ecoregions: Guinean montane forests, Western Guinean lowland forests, Guinean forest-savanna mosaic, West Sudanian savanna, and Guinean mangroves.[85] It had a 2019 Forest Landscape Integrity Index mean score of 4.9/10, ranking it 114th globally out of 172 countries.[ mapa de Guinea Africa

Guinea Conakry to Ivory Coast Full FLAT TYRE at 90 kmh! Repairs Africa Way - Day 31

Good Morning to day 31 in Guinea Conakry 60km away from Nzerekore, were last night we got soaked with heavy rain and all our clothes did not even have enough time to dry out, so we started early our drive to Nzerekore to fill up fuel and withdraw some cash as we were empty after paying everything to the hotel we stayed at.

After Nzerekore we stopped for a quick omelette and noticed a by passer coming by fully covered with sand from hair to toe. Somebody felt sorry and gave him a free coffee and a meal..

Afterwards we got stopped by a military checkpoint before the border asked for documents and with a serious question at the end they asked can we have your bike?!

After a small chat and laughs we continued to the border that took some time at both sides in Guinea Conakry, and then even on Ivory Coast side. (4 check points to cross)

When that was Finally finished we are free and into Ivory Coast!
10 Minutes later, full flat rear tyre while driving 95km. Daniel took great care of handling the bike safely un till we stopped.
