Minneapolis and Saint Paul are some of the two best cities in America. They're also home to some of the most amazing things to do, see, eat, drink and experience. In this video, I give you 15 must-do activities that will help you get started exploring these fantastic places!
Minneapolis and Saint Paul are two cities that are located in the state of Minnesota. They are located on opposite banks of the Mississippi River just north of its confluence with the Minnesota River, which forms the border between the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin at this point. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area consists of over 16 cities in Minnesota with a population of 3.6 million people.
Unlike most Twin Cities, Minneapolis (MPLS) is slightly larger by population than Saint Paul, though today it is not as true as it was for most of the 20th Century. Saint Paul has won national acclaim for its beauty and livability.
The two cities have very different histories and they blend beautifully today. Although it's hard to say which is the better of the two, I'm referring to Minneapolis as a much more boring place than Saint Paul (in terms of activities and things to do).
Minneapolis has a lot of fun things for you to do, like the Mill City Museum or the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, in which you can immerse yourself in flour and the history of Minneapolis. Or visit the Science Museum of Minnesota for over 300 interactive exhibits covering science, art, history, and nature in Saint Paul.

The state of Minnesota is filled with many tourist destinations. The Twin Cities are a popular tourist destination for people who want to see historical sites. There are many other tourist destinations in the state, including the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Duluth Superior Canal. The state has many mines, which have made it one of the most important states in the union. Here are our top four cities when it comes to traveling throughout.
1. Minneapolis has a lot to offer visitors. It's a great place to start a vacation, or to relocate for work (reason why is our top tourist destinations at 2022). The city is home to world-renowned museums like the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and sports teams like the Vikings and the Twins. Additionally, Minneapolis is great for food lovers - there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to choose from.
2. If you are planning to visit the United States anytime soon, you should consider adding the city of St. Paul in Minnesota to your travel itinerary. St. Paul is the capital city of Minnesota and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The city is home to a number of historical and cultural attractions, as well as a variety of outdoor activities. In addition, St. Paul is a great place to visit if you are looking for a city with a lively nightlife scene.
3. Rochester is a city located in upstate New York. The city has a population of around 250,000 and is the fourth-largest city in the state, awesome tourist destinations at 2022. Saint Paul, the state capital of Minnesota, forms the Twin Cities with neighboring Minneapolis. It’s home to the Science Museum of Minnesota, with its dinosaur specimens and immersive theater. The Minnesota History Center has interactive exhibits about the region's history. Nearby is the beaux arts Cathedral of Saint Paul. The Cass Gilbert–designed Minnesota State Capitol features paintings of Civil War scenes.
Founded near historic Native American settlements as a trading and transportation center, the city rose to prominence when it was named the capital of the Minnesota Territory in 1849. The Dakota name for Saint Paul is Imnizaska. Though Minneapolis (Bdeota) is better-known nationally, Saint Paul contains the state government and other important institutions. Regionally, the city is known for the Xcel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild, and for the Science Museum of Minnesota. As a business hub of the Upper Midwest, it is the headquarters of companies such as Ecolab. Saint Paul, along with its Twin City, Minneapolis, is known for its high literacy rate. It was the only city in the United States with a population of 250,000 or more to see an increase in circulation of Sunday newspapers in 2007.
The settlement originally began at present-day Lambert's Landing, but was known as Pig's Eye after Pierre Pig's Eye Parrant established a popular tavern there. When Lucien Galtier, the first Catholic pastor of the region, established the Log Chapel of Saint Paul (shortly thereafter to become the first location of the Cathedral of Saint Paul), he made it known that the settlement was now to be called by that name, as Saint Paul as applied to a town or city was well appropriated, this monosyllable is short, sounds good, it is understood by all Christian denominations.

In winter months, Saint Paul hosts the Saint Paul Winter Carnival, a tradition that began in 1886 when a New York reporter called Saint Paul another Siberia. Attended by 350,000 visitors annually, the event showcases ice sculpting, an annual treasure hunt, winter food, activities, and an ice palace. The Como Zoo and Conservatory and adjoining Japanese Garden are popular year-round. The historic Landmark Center in downtown Saint Paul hosts cultural and arts organizations. The city's notable recreation locations include Indian Mounds Park, Battle Creek Regional Park, Harriet Island Regional Park, Highland Park, the Wabasha Street Caves, Lake Como, Lake Phalen, and Rice Park, as well as several areas abutting the Mississippi River. The Irish Fair of Minnesota is also held annually at the Harriet Island Pavilion area. And the country's largest Hmong American sports festival, the Freedom Festival, is held the first weekend of July at McMurray Field near Como Park.
