A 4k video drive tour of Nkawkaw town in the Kwahu West Municipal, Eastern Region of Ghana.
From the N6 Accra Kumasi road, we branched right at the Bread sellers junction onto the Nkawkaw High street ,passing infront of the Philico strores, Nkawkaw Kenop Care Hospital, Obuoba Distilleries Limited, Gospel City International Church, Nkawkaw New Station, Methodist Church and schools, Opportunity International Savings and Loan Limited.
Driving on the Nkawkaw Atibie Mpraeso road, we passed infront of the Absa Branch Nkawkaw, Christian International School and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses building.
Making a u turn from the Kwahu Mountains, we drove all the way to the Nkwakaw High street passing infront of the Nkawkaw central Market, Nkawkaw Police Station, Ghana Post Nkawkaw, Nkawkaw Total Energy gas stations, International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), SSNIT Nkwakaw, Ghana Water Company Nkawkaw, Ghana Revenue Authority, Obuoba Village Restaurant and Event Center and passing Amanfrom, Kwamang and Awenade towns onto the Nkawkaw Bypass at Asona where we concluded the journey.
Nkawkaw is a town in southern Ghana and is the capital of Kwahu East District, an area in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. Nkawkaw has a 2013 settlement population of 61,785 people.
Nkawkaw is also described as a city in a valley as it the gateway to ascend the Kwahu mountains.

Nkawkaw (meaning the red, red) is a town in southern Ghana and is the capital of Kwahu West Muncipal , an area in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. Nkawkaw has a 2013 settlement population of 61,785 people.
Nkawkaw is also described as a city in a valley as it the gateway to ascend the Kwahu mountains
Nkawkaw is situated on the road and former railway between Accra and Kumasi, and lies about halfway between these cities. It is also connected by road to Koforidua and Konongo.
Nkawkaw is one of the major towns of the Kwahu Mountains. Historically it is not considered as a Kwahu town because it is not on top of the mountain range.
According to the 2013 census Nkawkaw has a settlement population of 61,785.
Nkawkaw is the location of football team Okwawu United and is also the location of the Nkawkaw Sports (stadium)

The Kwahu Odweanoma Mountain, also known as the Kwahu Plateau, is a popular tourist destination in Ghana, especially during the Easter festivities. It is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana and is approximately 70 kilometers from the capital city, Accra. The mountain has an elevation of about 885 meters above sea level and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.
To climb the Kwahu Mountain, you will need to start at the base of the mountain, which is usually at the town of Nkawkaw Oseikrom. From Nkawkaw on the Nkawkaw bypass, we drove to Ofromase town, headed to Amanfrom , Asuboni and Nkwanda No.1 and No.2 on the N6 Kumasi Accra road seeing the Kwahu Mountains ( kwahu bepo ) from a distance.
The N6 Kumasi Accra is the busiest road in Ghana and care should be taken when driving on such roads.
Kwahu West Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu South District in 1988, which was created from the former Kwahu District Council, until the southwest part of the district was split off to create Kwahu West District in August 2004; which it later was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 July 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008) to become Kwahu West Municipal District.
The Kwahu West municipality is located in the western part of Eastern Region and has Nkawkaw as its capital town.

A 4k rainy road drive from Accra North Industrial Area in the Greater Accra Region Ghana to Ayigya in the Ashanti Region Ghana through Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
From the North Industrial Area to Hebron in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, we passed through towns like Alajo, Tesano , Achimota, Miles 7, Dome , Taifa, Ofankor, Pokuase, Amasaman, Sapeiman, Agbon, Pobiman, Kuntunse and Medie.
From Doboro to Fodoa in the Eastern Region of Ghana, we passed through towns like Nsawam, Sakyikrom, Adoagyiri, Panpanso, Obregyima, Teacher Mante, Beposo, Kyekyewere,Asuboi, Mankron Ketewa, Budu, Amanase, Homeso, Apeatu, Fianko ,Okorase, Suhum, Neefio, Omenako, Obretema, Densuso, Apedwa, Nkronso, Ebenezer, Akyem Asafo, Akyem Anyinasin, Akyem Aboabo, Nsutem, Osino, Asaman Tamfoe, Anyinam, Enyiresi, Akyem Sekyere, New Jejeti, Asuoso, Nkwanda, Kwahu Asuboni, Amanfro, Ofromase, Nkawkaw, Asona, Danteng, Kwahu Hwidiem and Adansua.
From Dadieso to Ayigya in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, we passed through towns like Breku, Adansi, Kantanso Barrier, Asankare, Atwedie, Juaso, Yawkwei, Konongo, Odumase, Ohene Nkwanta, Nobewam, New Koforidua, Duampompo, Kubease, Hwereso, Boankra, Ampabame, Adadientem, Besease, Krapa, Kwamo, Fumesua, Aprade, Oduom, Nsenie and Kentinkrono.
The Road construction works from Nsawam town to Apedwa town was completed and this save us an hour of travel time.

Kwahu South District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former Kwahu District Council. Later, the southwest part of the district was split off to create Kwahu West District in August 2004 (which it later was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 July 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008) to become Kwahu West Municipal District); thus the remaining part has been retained as Kwahu South District. Then the northwest part of the district was split off to create Kwahu East District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been still retained as Kwahu South District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Eastern Region and has Mpraeso as its capital town.
